  1. OOC: Annienal switched to the Bonaparte Cutlass, so she lost 3 SP that the Flagpole gave her. She should've taken 2 damage. I know this isn't a lot of health, but I'd rather be honest and admit that I took a bit of damage than skirt around a mistake made in the calculations. Annienal shields herself, hoping to avoid the brunt of the Firefly's damage. She feels the heat against her begin to swell, only to be caught off guard as the strange man burst into the form of a phoenix and rise into the sky. Annienal's guard was let down long enough for the Firefly to damage her slightly on her arm. She stepped back from the attack, only to continue watching the man as he flew off into the distance. Part of her envied his ascension, wanting to be in the air, and able to go wherever she pleased. The other half knew she had a ways to go until she could even consider getting to such a point. She looked back to the swarm of insects, her mind returning to the situation at hand. "Let's, um, wrap this up." Annienal assists Darksten in dealing with the Fire Ant Mob E.
  2. Annienal switches from her Hollow Flagpole to her Bonaparte Cutlass and takes a swipe at the Firefly E. "We're going to pull through! We're doing good!"
  3. I've been wanting to host again, but haven't found the time. I do have a few ideas that I want to run, mainly involving the Sheep Tribe, as well as wrapping up the Cemetery arc. I'm hoping by at least summer I'll have be in a position to do something.
  4. Annienal nods in approval. "I have no qualms with that." Annienal continues to strike away, this time at Battle Ant Mob B from the front row. She hoped her armour would hold her through.
  5. Annienal continues to deal with the vermin, striking Battle Ant C from the Front Row.
  6. OOC: Grand Tonics only restore 15 ether, Zepher. Unless, of course, you, WBD and Jimbee have retconned that. I'm fine with Grand Tonics restoring more ether. Annienal motions for the Commodore to stand behind her. "Sir, I'll, um, ensure your protection against our assailant. Please get behind me. If you could reach into my pouch and provide me with my Tiger Balm, I'd be thankful. If, um... no one else objects to that." Annienal targets Battle Ant Mob A from the front row. Should Enchantment be rolled, Annienal enchants her Crescent Shield.
  7. What's this, the third Big Boy in a month? No matter, it's a wonderful rendition of an iconic locomotive! Well done!
  8. Having done most of the heavy lifting, Annienal readjusts her visor and downs a Grand Tonic. She begins to take a breather until the once roasted man begins to rise from his ashes. Annienal hesitantly raises her shield in defence. "Th-this guy's not undead, is he?"
  9. OOC: I'm pretty sure I'm out of Remedies. Also, is this a new battle, or a continuation of the previous one? I'm asking because I want to know if our positive effects will be on us still or not.
  10. OOC: If you guys want to auto roll, that's fine. Annienal turns to see the party lazily lounging about with herself at the forefront. A roiling amount of anger swelled inside her as she raised her shield and continues to shout off her Scroll of Dragon's Roar. If she runs out of ether, she focuses on merely tanking the attacks of the Pongcanis Charmer.
  11. OOC: Ack! Sorry for not posting! I was without internet for a day and didn't have time to tell you guys! Super sorry! Annienal would have to confront Heckz later. She uncorked a remedy and splashed it onto Darksten. "Largus! I, um, need you to do the same onto Siercon!" She tossed a remedy to the Commodore, hoping he'd do so directly after her.
  12. Annienal, not entirely sure what Darksten's glance was about, continues to target the Pongcanis Charmer with another blast from her Scroll of Dragon's Roar. "Can I have someone watching my back with remedies in case I get hexed? I'd, um, appreciate it." "Um, Heckz, have you heard the saying people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones? It, um, scarily fits you."
  13. OOC: That's not how Hexed works. Trust me, I've probably had my character hexed the most in this entire game. You'll attack one random ally until the end of the next round or you're remedied. What I'm getting at is you can't remedy yourself. Annienal, realizing that several people are hexed, splashes a remedy at Althior. "Um, I suggest we put me at the front of the battle order, Althior. I can soak up the charmer's attacks, and we, um, need to ensure we're all not getting mind controlled."
  14. OOC: Burned is similar to poisoned, but I believe it can be cured through other means besides a Remedy. Also, how are people Jinxed? I believe the Charmer casts Hexed, but if that's the case, the previous round should've gone differently. Annienal unleashes her voice unto the Charmer, as tinges of embers and wind rush from her lungs. The feeling was exhilarating: to control even a fraction of the power a dragon wielded coursed courage through her body. Annienal raises her shield in anticipation to let the Charmer succumb to his burns. "Behind me everyone, um, please. Althior, allow me to soak up the charmers hits." Annienal does nothing.
  15. OOC: I'm using the Hollow Flagpole (WP: 13, +3 to Party's SP) Annienal doesn't move very far as Heckz pushes her away, her armour grounding her to the dirt road. She inhales a deep breath before focusing on the remaining target. She felt it was time to try out her new spell. Reaching into her scroll pouch, she unfurls the Scroll of Dragon's Roar and attempts to unleash draconic fury onto the Ponganis Charmer. OOC: If successful, I imagine it to sound something like this.
  16. Annienal moves to target the final bugbear, but notices Heckz on the ground unconscious. She looks towards the two targets for a moment, unsure of what to do. Heckz had done nothing but prove his shallowness throughout the entire trip, but he was still an ally in the fight. Annienal revives Heckz with her Phoenix Essence, hoisting him back up off the dirt road.
  17. Annienal shields herself from several Bugbear attacks, moving them away with a swift motion from her shield. "Largus, perhaps, maybe, you could, um, pass me the Mead in my bag? I'd, um, appreciate it it. At least, um, if Althior agrees..." Annienal continues to target the Bugbear Casters from the front row.
  18. It's not really secret anymore then, is it?
  19. Annienal draws her weapons as the bugbears begin to swarm. "If I, um, can be hastened, that'll allow me to ensure some of the free hits come my way and into the direction of my shield and armour. If you put me first and someone takes on the Sharpshooter, I can still take most of our enemies attacks." Annienal strikes the Bugbear Caster mob using her Ruby (Fire) from the front row.
  20. Annienal puts her coin purse away, at leas happy there was no way for Heckz to weasel his way out of paying for a room tonight. "Um... is it possible I could be filled in on this story? Just in case it winds up being important later? I, um, hate being left in the dark..."
  21. "I hope so as well, Commodore. I hope with your presence things will go... um, smoother than they have been so far." As Martin utters the words "rest" and "tonight", Annienal opens her coin purse and begins counting her gold. "I assume you're staying here, sir? Do you know how much a room costs for the night?"
  22. Feeling sick to her stomach after Heckz is handed a room key, Annienal heads to bed, not even taking time to acknowledge anyone in the inn. Sleep didn't help her any. She woke up earlier than she anticipated and decided to head outside to meditate on the elements, putting her Lethauros helm on as she did so. With little progress made during her time to herself, Annienal hesitantly rejoined her party of distant associates for the trip to Bric'lin, during which she spent little time talking or looking at anyone in her group. The Pale Mermaid wasn't exactly the kind of establishment Annienal would frequent. She felt an unease as she made her way towards the room, hoping to find their Sungold associate. "Oh, um... hello, Commodore. My name is Annienal Anavar. You'll have to excuse me slightly. I'm not at my best as somethings have been bothering me." She glares at the harlot, keeping tabs on his presence. She would not allow him to make an megablocks of himself in front of Blackgull's contact. "I hope we didn't have to make you wait too long for our arrival?"
  23. Annienal nods towards Darksten, appreciative towards his support. "Darksten has the right idea, Mr. Featherhead. If you, um, allow Heckz to take your room for free for the night, who is to say that others will not? He should have to either pay his room fee, or sleep someplace else, although the way he's been acting, I would bar him from your establishment." Annienal adds. She shoots Heckz a distrustful and uncertain glare, hopeful enough attention had been brought to his behaviour. "Speaking of room fees..." Annienal scrounges through her gold purse and lays ten gold onto the table.
  24. "Oh, no, I knew that. Stories about food or drink that grant eternal life are common throughout many cultures. I suppose you could count vampires in and amongst such legends, seeing how in exchange for eternal life they must continue to consume the blood of humanoid races. I suppose it doesn't really interest someone like myself though. Us elves, um, we live for a relatively long time. All things considered I'll probably outlive you. Heroica seems to have magic over people to ensure they don't die in combat, but I don't believe it stops aging." Annienal ponders, reflecting back on years spent in the Trost Academy library, scouring through whatever subject she hadn't read about thoroughly. "I don't, um, quite see what Darksten has done to you Heckz but refute your statement to the innkeeper, and, um, rightful so." Annienal replies before Darksten has a chance to respond. "Not only that, your grasp on the common tongue is as vile as your attempts at coercing this inn keeper to give up one of his rooms to you for free, especially as you claim to be a member of the Sungold Alliance! "Intelligenter" is not a word, Heckz! It's "A" man of hard worked titles, Heckz, not "the". I personally don't think highly of Althior, but you, I don't believe that I've met a man as repugnant as you, Heckz." Annienal could feel herself getting worked up. She knew that she had some amount of courage in her that liked to shine through every once in a while, but she didn't ever recall getting this angry with someone so shortly after meeting them. She wouldn't allow Heckz to bully the innkeeper or Darksten. A man like Blackgull would agree with her, a man whose reputation she wished to uphold. She turns to the innkeeper, feeling herself slightly shaking. "Mr. Featherhead? I, um, am more than willing to suggest you give this man directions to your establishment's stable, and suggest he sleep there for the night. I do not run your establishment, but a respectable man such as yourself should not have to deal with such rabble." Annienal tells the innkeeper in a diplomatic manner. She looks to Heckz with a frown, feeling bitter and disappointed. She had hoped the Sungold Alliance were championing men and women who wanted to better the city, not their own interests.
  25. "You're not being very clear on what this "nectar of the gods" is. Besides, if, um, you're paying for it, I'd appreciate an Ambrosia. Mulled wine is a hot beverage, Darksten. Unless, of course, that's the nectar of the gods you're referring to is Ambrosia? In which case, I'll have one of those." Annienal responds appreciatively. She was curious as to where Darksten's sense of generosity came from, but she hoped it'd foster a better relationship with the group in general. Annienal turns to Featherhead inquisitively. "Excuse me, but do you know that man?"
