https://brickset.com/article/53815/this-year-s-winter-village-set-revealed! Chris McVeigh design!

Good perspective here. Worth noting a re-release was more favorable than skipping a WV release altogether. Santa's Workshop and the Cottage are the two i'd most like to see revisited but if they don't, well, they don't. It seems late if you judge on past releases however, as someone pointed out upthread, the leaked promo image listed 9/23 as a VIP date. https://brickset.com/article/53633/first-image-of-10275-elf-club-house I can only speak for myself but I'm not really sure why I'm so anxious to buy it...it's going to sit in the basement unopened until Thanksgiving along with the two advent calendars. What's the rush? haha
-
I agree that it's unlikely we'll see two WV sets at a time, specifically 1 new and 1 re-release.
-
I'm not going to get into a long-winded discussion about this because it's probably not the right thread but one thing is sure: Lego has done the research and know the market. They were so confident the market was growing they re-released the Toy Shop a mere 6 years after initial release. I don't have that market data but I suspect the re-release sold well and there are more coming in the next few years. In fact that re-release got me INTO Winter Village...re-releasing anything earlier than that would be new to me. I'd be shocked if I'm alone on that.
-
This only makes sense if the target market is completely stagnant with absolutely no chance of attracting new customers...which obviously isn't the case.

Ya win some, ya lose some. The Korean image must be the global date. Seems late but there also seems like quite a few big ticket / high interest sets being announced all at the same time. Mos Eisley, Harry Potter, Bat Wing (presumably 9/19), Sesame Street Ideas (TBD), and to a lesser extent, Levis collaboration. A lot to cram in before the holidays.
-
Sept 23 would be quite late for VIP given recent history but I guess we'll find out soon.
-
Based on nothing more than past history I'm guessing we'll get a press release this Saturday, Sept 12. They just announced Mos Eisley so they'll want to give that room to breathe. Friday is Sept 11 and there is no way they announce anything then. Saturday makes the most sense although Sunday is possible, too. The Fire House in 2018 was officially revealed on a Sunday. This will probably be on sale to VIPs sometime next week.

I saw that too, I think you're right.

I like the overall design. Tudor-esque and will fit nicely with the other buildings in the series. I'm fine with the subject matter and it can be adapted to fit your village if it's more of a "serious village" setup, similarly to the gingerbread house. I'm not really into the string of lights with the comically large bulbs but I'll reserve final judgement for when the official images drop. Am I the only one that thinks it's a bit on the small side?
-
Right. It's the same reason we see new City police and fire stations every 2-3 years. The tree isn't perfect but it's of above average design IMO. I might pick it up if I come across it at Target.
-
It looks like we can expect a Christmas tree polybag 30576 that includes a medium sized decorated tree and two gift packages. Nothing mindblowing but could be good WV filler. Unsure of retailer or if GWP. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/kids/sets/creator/-holiday-tree-7ef6060f2ca81e2b7361b2897425ee2d

I use a mix of 12 & 20 Qt Sterilite gasket boxes. The gasket is overkill but they are reliably in-stock at my local Target so I pay the extra buck or two for consistency. The bottom of the box nests nicely in the lid so they stack well. The 20 qt is tall enough to store built sets along with accessories, etc. Yes, there is a fair amount of "wasted" space in some of the boxes but for me this works well. https://www.sterilite.com/ProductCategory.html?ProductCategory=17&section=1

You could always...*snip* *snip* Wait...what?...no...I'm trying to delete it!

You're correct...in fact: https://www.ripleys.com/weird-news/female-reindeer/

I'm optimistic. I remember a lot of skepticism before the Firehouse set leaked and then again (to a greater degree IIRC) last year before the Gingerbread House leaked. Both ended up being great sets and it seemed like the majority were satisfied.
-
Only a few more weeks until we get a glimpse. Elf clubhouse seems intriguing...might go well with the elf toyshop GWP from a few years ago. For those not into the fantasy aspect to it, maybe it can be adapted to something more realistic without much effort. I thought the Gingerbread house could have easily been a festive tudor by just omitting the minifigs. At any rate, looking forward to the announcement.

This is the first set I've bought in day 1 since...Saturn V. I suppose the train GWP forced my hand. Looking forward to the build.

Which means the Nuova logo on the box is not accurate.
-
The more I look at this the more I'm into it but it also got me looking into the car itself. The box notes Nuova 500 but it seems that model series had suicide doors but the model shows typical front hinges. Nuova model was produced from 57-61 in a couple trim levels, followed by the D series from 60-65, also with suicide doors. It wasn't until the F series in 65 did they have typical doors. That being said, aside from the door orientation, the Nuova, D, and F models all look very similar so I'm sure if you wanted to get super accurate one could re-engineer the doors to open suicide style. Anyway, something I thought was interesting. Based on photos of the actual cars, Lego bright yellow would be fairly accurate by the time the F model was introduced but not the Nuova. Nitpicking but I find it interesting. As for the Abarth, they were mostly white with brick red trim. I think you'd be able to mod this into an Abarth model very easily.

LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

I agree, looks like 12. Windshield appears for be 10 wide with +1 stud on either side for the body panels. Front bumper looks 3 elements wide, 4 studs each. -

Thanks, I had checked there earlier but it wasn't up yet. Much better than the 2018 Ideas version. It'll be a nice compliment to the Mini and Beetle so long as it's $89US or less. -

I'll be interested to see the official images. IMO the 2018 Ideas submission was not up to the Creator Expert standards nor is the image on Brickchannel. So far I cannot locate the box images mentioned in that PromoBricks post. -

So is this the extent of the summer range or can we expect a few more sets beyond those listed above? -

Happy to see the F&F model is Technic and not Creator Expert. I'm sure a Creator Charger would have been fine but having just had a classic American car in the Mustang I'm hoping they go a European direction in 2020.
