    yes, it's true it's quite more challenging but the rendition you give to the 1p is really accurate so i think it's just a try and build matter. edit... i've just build a ginkei inspired by your ship. i'll post some BETTER pics soon.

    what i suggest you to do is to download all the building instructions of official lego mechs you can find on brickset.com. Exo force is all based on mechs, but the best are on ninjago theme. learn how they work and use them as a base to build something on your own. some people like boyzwiththemosttoyz, who's specialized mostly on transformers stuff, sometimes publish an "howto" video on thier youtube channel: If i don't remember badly he has something like a skeleton for the mechs he build around there.
