There have been some nice grungy and grease spotted fig faces released in the last couple of years. I typically swap out the set engineer / driver faces with those.

At the 2:18 mark is the LEGOLand train- is that the same version as the employee exclusive set released last year?

That tram (streetcar) is a dead ringer for streetcars I see here in my hometown of Portland, OR. The tram is the only thing from the Public Transport set I didn't mod! ;)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
ritzcrackerman replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If there's any truth to these leaks/rumors - this series looks like a lot of fun. There is some definitely some fan-service here with the monster likenesses (just enough to not get TLG, I suppose). Anyways, looking forward to seeing how these end up in the final product. -

The LEGO Movie snubbed for Oscars
ritzcrackerman replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Wow! General consensus was that it was a shoe-in to win it all. At least one of the creators is taking it in stride. pic.twitter.com/kgyu1GRHGR -
Can you get one for me? :)

You may do some research. Here's a link for a company that actually produces sets using "LEGO compatible" bricks to make edifices / temples for the Mormon religion. The site was obviously scoured by an attorney in advance: http://brickemyoung.com Citizen Brick also publishes disclaimers on their site that you could wordsmith.

Barrels of toxic waste and a Detective's Office populated by mutants would be a fun one. My LEGO Walter White could probably manufacture plenty of Blue Sky in that kitchenette, accessibility (lack of stairwells leading to it) be darned.

You tease! I am cautiously optimistic that we will get: 1) A third ''City Train,'' a lá the 3677. The 3677 was a limited retailer exclusive, wasn't it? If I recall, the first sign it was coming to market was it was shown inadvertently (intentionally?) at a LEGO designer expo, wasn't it? At any rate, it was a pleasant surprise. Maybe something price-wise between the current trains ($159-$169 USD?) 2) As well, a ''Creator Expert'' branded train - no tracks, no PFs included (as per the standard thus far). I suspect whatever we get will fit a similar mold to the previous Creator Train releases, in that you will need at least (2) to make it look really good. Probably $119 - $129? This is all uninformed speculation, but here's hoping regardless.

Yay?

I saw this in the shop yesterday, with the new "Classic'' branding. The 60% price hike is a bit of a bummer, but it looks like it's Bright Green now?? http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Green-Baseplate-10700

I'm glad you posted this. I had seen a 'shopped image earlier in this thread I below. A massive improvement! This modular will be the first that I mod extensively. In that regard... It's slightly disappointing as it's the same price as the PR, has >200 fewer pieces, and you have to add an additional floor to make it look "right." On the plus side- now the detective has an apartment. Mod it with a creaky Murphy bed a lá Eddie Valiant.

Woo hoo, got my entire set. Took me awhile to find them all. The Targets and Fred Meyers here (Pacific NW) all have them in the back; but they also have boxes and boxes of Series 12 still sitting on the shelf. I had 3 different department managers tell me they weren't putting them out until they got some more turns on Series 12, the Mixels, and all the other blind-bagged collectible figure series they are carrying. I do like this series a lot more than Series 12. This might be one of the better ones they've released.

Has anyone modded theirs or found some cool Technic and/or System pieces to customize it? I'm looking for some inspiration (and to keep mine from getting mixed up at the next Train show!)
-
Nice to know I'm not the only one! LOL The difference for me is I'm selling the majority of my collection to make way for more trains, tho.

This is very good, and almost looks like an official set. Well done! Might I suggest a few more candy-related decorations in and out to - a custom sign, maybe inside some candy glass bowls on a shelf, etc. It could use just a little more differentation from the previous WV sets. Candy making for me upstairs would be more of a kitchenette with sugar syrup boiling, rather than a bed. It would be wonderful if LEGO released the silver bars from the Lone Ranger sets in Dark Brown for chocolate bars... Cheers and well done!

There are some postings on other threads as well as other blogs with promotions and early VIP releases. If they're accurate - I'm not seeing a peep alluding to a new Creator Expert Train for 2015. Yes, it is indeed looking grim. Hope springs eternal...

The butcher from the Series 6 CMF has some nice muttony chops, but unfortunately, a pleasant smile. May not work either.... (Although a preponderance of coffee and books should put even Ebeneezer in a good mood!) http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_cLiTLUqX5A/TtnGB3FoodI/AAAAAAAAArY/huiRBpTEozw/s1600/Butcher.jpg

Citizen Brick's Center for the Performing Arts
ritzcrackerman replied to rob-cubed's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I saw this and was thoroughly amused and tempted. But price is way too high... CB stuff is generally of excellent quality. Hopefully the figures will get sold separately. There was a topic posted not that long ago http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97827&hl=%20strip%20%20club&st=0. Looks like a need has been met. -
40107 Ice Skating (2014 Holiday Set #2)
ritzcrackerman replied to ritzcrackerman's topic in LEGO Town
Ask, and ye shall receive! I think I can pass. This looks simple enough to make on my own. I do wish they had included some additional hockey sticks, though. The brick-built solution is poor, considering a mold currently exists. I'll have to remember on the next survey, though - if TLG really wants to get me excited about exclusive sets like these, they need to include some new torso and face prints. These rehashes are just getting ridiculous... -
