What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Rijkvv replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
THese set ideas sound great to me, however I'm afraid these won't sell. The CD-ROM is from around 1996, and I don't think TLG will take the risk. -
I hope you're right.

I voted both. A monorail would be awesome, but ground level trains are also important for a layout. I think there are more trains than monorails in the world. Maybe I would have more fun with a monorail, but if I build a layout, I know for sure there have to be ground level trains. I'm not sure if I will buy and add a monorail.

For everyone who wants to know how steep they can build inclines: click here. In my yet to build layout there will be no bridge. The inclines needed to give the bridge enough height are too space-consuming. If you have the space, it's highly recommendable. It adds something extra to a layout.

Accuracy. But sometimes playability is fine. The 10198 is not accurate, it has an interior but isn't even close to minifig scale. But the outside dimensions are good. I think one of the best sets that combines the two perfectly.

In the panel where you can choose all pieces, there are some symbols on top. Choose the one in the middle (Filter bricks by boxes) and choose Factory 2007. Or even better: choose the most right button (turn off filters). Remind that it isn't possible to upload it or check the price.

I think you mean you will not sell it. It's a fantastic set, the headquarters alone is already enough but you get everything you need.

In Episode III, Yoda and Obi-Wan looked to the security hologram, where Palpatine calls Anakin 'Vader'. Yoda speeks that the boy Obi-Wan has trained, no more is. Consumed by Darth Vader. So they knew. I've no idea which one to choose. There are many great minifigs. Boba Fett was a favourite a long time, but Vader is also cool, especially the chrome one. I think I'll choose the latter. At least one from the movies, no Clone Wars or Expanded Universe stuff for me.

I think I can add the 7665 Republic Cruiser to my list.

4549 Container Double Stack. I'm afraid this will be an expensive week, with Legoworld tomorrow.

The three SW sets you'd like TLG to release
Rijkvv replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great topic K-D! My three choises: 1. UT-AT. With pilot, 5 gunners and possibly a Galactic Marine. For the marine LEGO could use a Snowtrooper helmet with new colors. This is an awesome example. 2. Firespeeder. With at least two fire fighters. Maybe this helmet? 3. A redesign of the Bongo. The previous one needs an improvement. Something like this perhaps? There are a lot of sets that could use a redesign, but I think this set needed it the most. -
No! This is not WW as we know it. But I agree with the other 'no': the minifigs are ugly indeed.

I think the exterior needs some slopes. That's what I don't like about the Death Star play set: it's too blocky. I'm happy with the X-wing. The TIE Advanced in the Death Star isn't full scale either. So, for me the main work that has to be done are the slopes. @Klaus-Dieter: I think there is a screen with the Death Star actually. Right under the ceremony hall.

For me the same.

I understand the reasons why people vote against technic in non-technic sets. For me it's just another way to make model more sturdy and add functions. Some big Star Wars sets were way more fragile if there weren't technic parts included.

Well, if the Emerald Night should not be counted since it's an exclusive, then I would vote for the City Corner. It looks somehow like a non-exclusive version of Town Plan: some buildings, vehicles and minifigs, with great playability. I don't own it (yet), but after I read some reviews it's likely I will buy it.

The idea of real ships sound great, but I think it's unlikely they will ever be released as a set. Maybe in a smaller scale (take the USS Constellation set as an example) but definately not in minifig-scale and so not compatible with the rest of the theme. Look at the Prins Willem made by Captain Green Hair, and you know what I mean. I don't count the current line as 'Classic Pirates'. The in my opinion real Classic Pirates sets (1989-1996) was way better than the current one. But back to the question. I prefer a non-licensed Pirates theme. It's less expensive and there is not a movie the sets have to be based at. The new 10210 Imperial Flagship is an excellent example of a beautiful set TLG designed by its own. Although POTC has some great possibilities. This is just an example. I prefer a non-licensed Pirates theme, but better a POTC license theme than none at all.

Nice train. It's a succesful excursion. Can we expect more trains in the future?
-
Great idea Klaus-Dieter! Signed.

The same reason why I didn't vote for the Pancho train. I however voted for the PF freight train.
-
I voted for the Emerald Night. It's a great design, and the first steam engine since the 12V era that looks realistic. The only point is there aren't enough cars.

What's your favorite LEGO license theme so far?
Rijkvv replied to BrickMonster MonsterBrick's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would say because these were promotionals, hard to get (mainly only in the shops they were promoting) while the most license themes were available in most toy shops. Just my 2 cents. -
The only thing is the number of cannons. Of course you can add the Cannon Battle, but still it would be great if it already had enough. And even if you add them, you don't have the right undercarriages.

Blacktron II, Space Police II, Ice Planet 2002, Spyrius, Unitron and Exploriens. Maybe M-Tron as well. I think Exploriens is my favourite, it is about discovering and looks the closest to Classic Space from the above themes. Spyrius is second, all sets look good at least. Unitron has only one set that was released worldwide. It's the only great set of that theme IMHO.

Welcome to Eurobricks. I never saw Night Watch, but according to the pictures, it looks accurate.
