Muscle cars instructions

Nico71's Plymouth Hemi Cuda with instructions. -
You can order them at Pick a Brick. In this Railbricks blog, Anthony Sava writes about an even better solution, resulting in more traction, although it's not a 100% LEGO solution.

This looks very detailed. The Snowspeeder, the turret, even the floor of the trench. Nice way of creating muzzle flashes for the rifles as well.

Well, since I hate these faces myself, I can only say: brilliant!

andythenorth, do you mean the PF train motor? If so, what I've heard of, is that the PF train motor, using the battery box find in the two regular train sets, uses six AAA-size batteries. The RC train motor uses six AA-size ones, but it seems the PF motor is still more powerful. You can try to look here. The total performance of every motor is tested, very useful. To me anyway.

A Nokia 2610. My first cellphone, a 2600, was permanently destroyed when it went underwater during a military exercise (a long story). I choosed the 2600 for its simplicity. In my opinion a cellphone needs two features: call and SMS. At the time it was no longer of any use, the 2600 was discontinued. I wanted a simple design again. Just after a moment I knew it: the 2610. As long as it's operational, I will not buy a new one.

He means the hips if I'm right. And indeed, to me they look a little transparent. For 9 of the 10 toy brands, it would be enough. This is Sparta LEGO, and I expect quality. The design is superb, great if you plan to build a minifig-scale trireme, but it lacks quality. The only point of the design that could be better is the helmet. It's not bad, but the Brickforge one looks better to me.

I think this is due to the fact there were only two years of new Western set releases, not counting the re-releases. There were many unused set-ideas. If I think of the Wild West I know from movies, there are at least two important things: a saloon and a steam locomotive with a cow catcher, 2B or 4-4-0 axle configuration, well, you get the picture. I think the Indians subtheme couldn't last long at all, since I don't see many really new set ideas, but that can be a lack of imagination from my side. Whatever the chances for a long theme were, Western or Wild West was discontinued after a while, with far less sets released than Castle or Pirates. Pirates returned for a while last year, Castle was never completely gone (although the Power Ranger knights from KK2 seems very unpopular). I think this all contributes to the fact that you don't see as many Western MOCs as Castle or Pirate ones (but still there are some fabulous Western ones). If a total Western theme won't be released, I hope for exclusive sets. Sets at the size of Cafe Corner, Green Grocer and the others, but in a Western setting.

Roamingstudio, if you remove the plates under the brackets, put tiles 1 x 6 on top, and lay it all upside down, you might even be able to create a nice looking with sleepers. It's your choice of course, and I'm not sure Ãf it will look better, but maybe it's worth the try. Edit: now I realize it might be difficult to connect it to the Indiana Jones track.

@Melfice: I prefer a NS 1200 for the Dutch one. Unique, not a copy of a French engine. It might be an idea, an iconic train from every part of the world. However, every country has it's own typical trains. I think for the Netherlands, next to the 1200 (and partly 1600 and 1800, I have to admit, they are well-known I think) would be the Mat 54, ICM (not modernized, maybe with a working walk-through nose), Plan V, VIRM, DD-AR, Dutch-Swiss TEE DMU etc. But well, let's stay with engines, because EMU's or DMU's would be too expensive to collect from every country. Ideas from the very few countries I know trains from: Netherlands: A NS 1200, IMHO the most beautiful non-steam loc ever. The fact they were in service till 2009, after 58 years of service, says enough. For a more modern one, I would agree with Melfice about the 1600/1800 or 1700 (almost identical on the outside). A steam engine would be nice as well, maybe a NS 3900 or a NS 6300, although I don't think they are well-known outside the Netherlands. Germany: A V200 or a Baureihe 103. Both beautiful engines. I'm not very familiar with modern locs outside the Netherlands. Steam engines from Germany: well, they have many well-known examples, I leave that to the people who knows the differences. Belgium: HLD 52. Without any doubt. Before the changed cabin. For Luxembourg the same answer, I believe they drove in Luxembourgh with number CFL 1600, but I'm not sure. UK: I would say the Flying Scotsman, but since the Emerald Night looks very similar, I chose for the Mallard. But please TLG: use round buffers for a steamer the next time! For a modern one I choose the Class 66. Used in multiple countries, but It was designed for the British tracks, and I still have the feeling that it's a British design (it's a US design). US: well, the Big Boy is one of the very few American trains/locs I know. But I think that's way too big to run at an average layout. The others I know are already been relased as sets.
-
@ Klaus-Dieter: Mostly I agree with you. I wouldn't have trouble with military LEGO, but I respect the opinion of TLG. Maybe UN sets would be possible, but if they don't want it, I respect it. Something like the Dutch YPR-765 KMar (for Crowd- and Riot-control) or the Dutch YPR-765 AAV (used for storming hijacked planes)? They're not exactly tanks, however, they are used by the military police. And maybe the word 'military' can be a reason for TLG to not release something like that. For the weapons of the police officers: I never wondered why the policemen never had arms. Maybe as a very young kid I didn't even know. A police officer without a gun is not as strange as a knight without a sword or crossbow. Maybe it's an idea to fit the agents with batons: not as violent as a gun, but the policemen don't have to arrest people with only handcuffs?

To me it's just the modern ones I don't like. Everything has to be modern-looking and lightweight, while things like comfort seems not to be so important. I prefer the old Dutch Sprinter (SGM 74 if I'm right) above the new one (SLT). I grew up in the '90s, when rail catering was a common good, when graffiti was a rarity and when conductors didn't have to fear for their lives if someone won't pay a ticket. The days when special post trains drove between the normal passenger trains to deliver many boxes of LEGO... About the Santa Fe: I think this is one of the greatest trains TLG has ever produced. It's not that I hate American trains, I just prefer European ones (as long as it's '80s or '90s stuff, not the modern kind).
-
Beautiful switchers, I especially like the 45t one. Nice technique for the rods!
-
Since I grew up with the yellow Dutch trains, my interests lay with European trains. Especially the ICM 'Koploper'. This type of EMU was unique for it's nose. The noses could, when coupled together, open and create a corridor. However, NS (the Dutch railways) ruined the trains by removing the system. I think the american rolling stock looks terrible. They lack buffer beams, and that looks very weird to me. EMU's don't need them, but I don't think there are a lot of EMU's in the States, or am I wrong? But... I have to say, my all-time favourite loc is the NS 1200 class. Designed by Baldwin, the american influence was easy to see. It was loved by the personnel. And by me. That's the reason why I try to design one in MLCad. Difficult, but not impossible. I hope it ever gets finished and built in real.
-
I think it looks close to the real one. Looking to your pic, I see there's no interior, but I can understand with that amount of SNOT techniques. Do you plan to motorize it?
-
I used to have a layout based on '90s sets. There were a few '80s sets (vehicles), but most of them were '90s. The only building of the '2000s was the airport, but that was a release of a 1994 set. My future layout (if I ever get the bricks and space) will be designed mostly by me, with maybe the exception of the Vestas windmill in other colours.

8880 Alternate Models
Rijkvv replied to Silcantar's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Strictly this is not an alternate model. There are some parts not included in the 8880 set, for example the grey hoses. -
I would like to see a big ship, maybe Neo Classic Space style, as there were many MOCs to be found a while ago. I don't mind play features, but then play features like a hidden ground vehicle. I dislike shooting missiles. Another option may be a monorail. A while ago I saw a brick-built monorail with 9V motor. It was Town-orientated, but of course a (classic) Space themed monorail should be possible, and instead of the 9V motor a PF one could be used.

Fried squid is more popular in Mediterranean countries than in the Netherlands, so the squid is afraid of being eaten by Spanish hooligans. HUP HOLLAND HUP!!!

To be honest I think the vehicle in 7035 is poorly designed. A police tank seems unrealistic to me, however an armoured car or maybe an APC would be possible. But they usually belong to military police. Although these are rarely used in violent roles, the word 'military' can be the end of the idea for LEGO. If it will be an APC, maybe the Dutch YPR-765 KMar. Used for Crowd- and Riot Control (CRC). On the front side a ram or dozer blade can be fitted. There's also a special version for storming hijacked planes (YPR-765 AAV). If something like this will be released, I surely buy one.

I don't know why TLG discontinued the Western theme. The theme seems succesful to me. It's full of action (and nowadays TLG only wants to have action sets...), the buildings were fairly detailed and I think they did sell well. I consider collecting Western sets, but many of them have stickers. What's the overall quality of stickers in Western sets?
-
I'm not sure, maybe he used some ideas (for example maybe some boiler details) but I see some difference. The frontlights are different, the wheels as well and I think this is a six-wide loc (in general, there are some parts wider).

Nice MOC, and a nice result of the match. The one with the yellow vuvuzela is wearing
