You shouldn't get an Duty or VAT invoice at all on orders from LEGO. VAT is calculated during checkout, and paid as normal. Import duty is not really our concern as we order from the UK site. The fact that LEGO ships decides to ship those orders from abroad is their issue, and they account for that in the cost of the products here. It's detailed on their site actually:

LEGO Ninjago 2021

Now I'm not sure about any of those to be honest. The small island definitely has to go; it just doesn't fit in between anything. However, none of the setups seem like a perfect fit for the Gardens either, at least not in the way that the City and Docks fit. is In all of them there is at least one or two points that don't transition that well. I guess I'll have to wait till I get mine, and see it in person. -

It seems obvious, but I worry it isn't going to look as good as we would think; at least not without some modification, or possibly mirroring the build. Difficult to say, but we'll find out soon enough once more people get their hands on the set. -

I think what you're looking for is in the video I posted earlier. Have a look. -

This video shows the gardens connected to the city (starting at 6:16), with the Docks attached on the other side of the city. The little island is attached to the back of the gardens, which is not ideal as it blocks part of the docks. I might look if I can change it up a bit and attach it to the front of the city/garden side instead and expand it to the full width. That would fit my layout perfectly, I think. -

Good point. If you add in the pagoda island between the dock and one of the corners, it gets even longer. -

The Docks (as in the set) can be a bit confusing when talking about it. Yes, the actual dock is the main featured side in LEGO's advertising but I always refer to it as the back of the side; just because of it's orientation in relation to the City set FRONT: BACK: I'm thinking about connecting the gardens to the back of the city, so it wraps around. Connecting it to the Docks would make it 3.5 plates long, which is too long for my layout. -

It looks to me like it was designed to have older sets connected on the right side of the gardens (as the left has the wrap-around walkways), so it could be Gardens-Docks-City. However, I've always found that the City fits better to the left side of the Docks. I think it might try Gardens, City, Dock (like a J shape), that would mean the bridge in the city would lead into the gardens, and all levels can be reached via the lift as well. Not sure where that would leave the smaller Temple Island though. -
I'm thinking about replacing my road plates with the new road system, as it would let me free up some space. However, I'm still looking for an easy way to combine the modulars with these new roads. As it stands, the roads will end up higher than the modular pavements and I want them to be at least the same height or ideally have the pavements end up a bit higher. Currently, I'm looking at either replacing the modular baseplates with regular plates, or just placing the modulars on top of baseplates/plates. First one seems a lot of hassle with 10+ modulars, and expensive.

Or maybe time for a new GWP that fits with this release?

At least it's not just me then. Lol. Wasn't too worried about the Hogwarts Express trio as those are just the Y2 figured reused even though the set is based on the 3rd movie. Have just put them aside as spares. I also quite like Herbology Neville with medium legs so leaving him for now. I just assumed he still took those classes in later years as that seems to be where his interest lies. Might revisit that one.

I have a question about the leg lengths. I was having a look at all the minifigs and what movies they are based on, and from what I can tell they have been pretty consistent with the length of students' legs. Year 1 & 2 students have the short legs, Y3/4 get medium while Y5 and above have the regular legs. However, there appears to be a small inconsistency with Luna Lovegood which is now bothering me a bit. Her figure in the Room of Requirement set is from 'Order of the Phoenix', while the rest are from 'The Half-Blood Prince'. If I'm not mistaken, Luna is a year below Harry Potter, and so she would be in Y4 and Y5 in those movies respectively. Therefore her RoR figure should have medium legs (although maybe she was a bit taller for her age), but the Series 1 figure with the Spectrespecs should definitely have regular legs (just like all her other figures from that same movie). I am now wondering if I should swap out the legs for the correct sizes, or pretend she also wore that Spectrespecs outfit in her earlier years. Am I being a bit OCD here or has anyone else picked up on this and made some adjustments?

From all the characters released pre-2018, the only ones of which we haven't had new versions are: Narcissa, Karkaroff, Crabbe, Goyle, Peeves, Werewolf Lupin and Shark Krum. I would expect at least one new figure for these in future (Crabbe may be a bit problematic. Not sure how the issues surrounding an actor would affect the inclusion of a minifig). There was also a merman, some non-named goblins and a big-fig troll. I would mind to see re-releases of those as well.

It seems they can. I received my set today in the UK. Wasn't expecting it at all, especially on a Sunday but also because I only ordered it on Friday. Never received a set that quickly.

Yes, in the app you basically have three option for the first motor. Have the lift do a normal run (all the way up until it drops normal), stop at the doors, or stop at the photo window. There is then also a lever that you can activate to drop the lift from any of those positions. This function uses the second motor and that second physical lever. However, I have found this to be very unreliable and after a few runs it seems to get out of sync. Either the lift no longer stops in the right spot, or the second lever doesn't engage properly. I have given up with the app and gone back to manual controls for now, until they improve the app (if they ever do).

Thanks for the review; enjoyed reading it and reliving the build. I love this set, but the minifigures are a bit of a letdown. The visitors are what they are; similar to the ones you get in the other fairground sets. I do like that they included a cross-over with Hidden Side. However, I was a bit disappointed with the characters that occupy the manor. What's so creepy about those twins? They are just a very common city figure reused; twice. I don't mind them being the same figure, but make them actually look creepy and have them fit the theming of the house (dress them in some Adventurers style outfits maybe). On that note; can anyone recommend any existing heads that they think looks creepy. Looking to update the twins. As for the ghosts; I understand that the mould for the old style ghosts is no longer available, but they still wanted to reference them, hence the face print. My issue with them is that they are meant to be real ghosts (see description of the Resonator), but look too much like people dressed up as ghosts. I wonder if there would have been a better way to incorporate the ghosts, Also, did we really need two of them as well. If anything, I would have preferred another guest, maybe referencing another classic theme.

Are Ultra Agents and Ninjago connected somehow?

Is this Dr. Ogel confirmed to be the same person as THE Ogel, or a relative, or is it just an easter-egg? -
Are Ultra Agents and Ninjago connected somehow?
Gorki247 replied to gamejutzu's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Even though the two Ultra Agent characters are intended to be different people in Ninjago (confirmed by the makers), it's still all connected! Ninjago to Power Miners (Clutch Powers) Power Miners to Atlantis (Brains) Atlantis to Alien Conquest/Pharaoh's Quest/Dino (Alien Conquest story) Dino to Adventures (Josh Thunder, descendant of Johnny) Adventures to Alpha Team (Orb of Ogel in Manor von Barron) Alpha Team to Agents/Galaxy Squad (CMF Spy's bio) Galaxy Squad to Ultra Agents (Solomon Blaze) Only using official bios, comic stories and named character cross-overs, I tried for 6 degrees of separation, but 7 is close enough. -
Could maybe use a small chunk of the roadtape to create a side street, but cannot see any use for a whole 15m role myself. No curves either. The river tape on the other hand looks more interesting. Could be used for large bodies of water instead of blue baseplates, and even rivers as you could create the banks with plates; no need to stick to a straight line.
-
Two possibilities for the blue stone, I think. - It doesn't actually say that the blue stone is the Re-Gou ruby, does it; so it could be another stone needed to power the device. - or like you said, it's the effect of the resonator. Also, It's not that far fetched that the villain after fame and fortune, would go after power next. Especially when they get their hands on mystical artefacts. I don't mind this, especially if it helps to explain his possession of the Orb of Ogel. I do like that the Baron is a real person in this universe as opposed to a character invented for the attraction. It fits the narrative of my city layout. I was hoping that the instructions would include some more background info; both on the creation of the set as well as some in-universe information. However, it doesn't look to be the case (from what I've seen so far; hope to be proven wrong).

While waiting for our sets to arrive; some info is published on lego.com/hauntedhouse. It gives us some background on the baron, his house, the blue ruby and the organ.

Mine is destined to go in my theme park as well, but replacing the Scooby Doo Mystery Mansion. I might keep some of the "actors" from that set, to populate the new and improved attraction. The Haunted House from the Monster Fighters theme is somewhere else in my city, fulfilling the role of an actual haunted mansion inhabited by Lord Vampyre and cohorts.
