Lego Transmission Test
Boxerlego replied to Boxerlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I made this governor for my transmission. So far I have no clue how to connect everything together. -
New 8t gear in portal hubs!
Boxerlego replied to z3_2drive's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow, these new small gears look heavy duty. I cant wait to get me a set. -
I am not trying to get credit for anything but rather show you how to properly connect two battery boxes together and understand why it is safe for the IR receiver and motors. It not like I specifically said build a helicopter with this. I want everyone to be able to know about this and use it with out fear.

Lego Transmission Test
Boxerlego replied to Boxerlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This time I have a the old style axle connectors on the red clutch rings. I have also made a gearshift lever for each of the red clutch rings. -
This is a Lego Vacuum engine I made. It is made of 100% Lego. Each cylinder is specially made of one common design and is connected both to the main Air block and the Frame. The Air block has a internal channel which air can flow through. The frame sets the proper 60 degree angle for all the cylinder. I have built a F4, V4, V8, W6, Y6, X8, and this 6-cylinder radial using the same cylinders pistons and valves just like the fake Lego car engine.

[HELP] Pneumatic Engines
Boxerlego replied to LiamM32's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi LiamM32,There are many barriers to get past. I like the fact that the LP engine uses air as a source of energy. However, almost every air tool is a air turbine. Lego would haft to make a Air turbine to get the same results. -

I have a 5 speed Transmission with a over drive gear and reverse in Lego of course and still is a work in progress. I have the input shaft directly connected to a motor shaft and the transmission output shaft is connect to a speed computer displaying the Rpm as I manually engage each gear. This was a test to see the high speed effect on the gears and the sliding gear engagement. What do you think about the Lego transmission and the overall capabilities.

The Multi color bricks look neat. They should make skittles like that.

How flexible are your cars?
Boxerlego replied to Lipko's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I start with the 9398 and how the flex is removed by having this horizontal connection. Now on this truck there is no horizontal beam connection like the crawler has.. This is what things look like when you have all four tires on flat ground. Now when you start to put the suspension to use. The vertical beam will begin to flex. You can use your mouse arrow to measure the distances on the two beams in the two pictures and see that the bottom one is definitely closer. -

4.5v battery box help
Boxerlego replied to Antonio's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Antonio, I dont think you can connect two of these boxes together to make 9 volts with out some cutting and rewiring. Also trying to power some lights with this battery is excessive and they would not be that bright at 4.5v. The old 9 volt battery box would be better at lighting a set of lights than that clunk. Hope this will help you
