Well designed MOC man!

16 'Eomer shields'?! Did you buy them seperate (because I see only 4 Eomer figures)? Did you buy Attack of the Wargs 4 times, and did you get all the other Mordor Orcs from the Orc Forge set? Nice job on the mountain although the white warg is a little bit too unbalanced for my liking.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
PassionateMOCNoob replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow thanks for sharing General Magma! Thanks for putting up those pictures, it helps me to visualise it allot. Regarding the sets: I think these look good from what I can see, and I am not dissapointed at all. The only thing that I would have liked to see added in the Black Gate set are Gondorian soldiers, trolls, Harradrim and Easterlings. But it's still possible we will see them in future sets (although the Easterlings are not very likely imo) and I will buy this set for sure. Like stated before the Wizard Duel leaves room for an Orthanc set (perhaps with Ents) and the fact that there are only 4 sets doesn't consern me at all. Maybe there will be a couple more releases during the 'hobbit' releases in December. All the options that have been discussed so often are still a possibility, and I have my hopes high for all those like: Balrog/Khazad-Dum (I don't see how Lego would suddently feel like they have enough Gandalfs ). Eowyn vs Fell beast, which I think would sell well with kids for the 'dragon' as a smaller set. Treebeard or 'the last march of the Ents' are both possible, have not been covered at all so far so I think we will see some Ents sooner or later. A Mummakil or Amon Din/White tree set are not too far fetched as well imo... All in all I'm looking forward to new releases in the future!- 7,499 replies

Awesome! His arms are the same color as the Orcs have but with a light grey helmet, right? His sword looks unique as well. It would make for a fine orc leader/captain!- 7,499 replies

Yeah I wish we could see at least something like the the price list, or amount of minifigures to give us some indication.- 7,499 replies

Where did you hear about these prices? Because that would be pretty interesting for us too speculate when we know the price for the various sets like Wizard duel $20 or $80 for instance, means with or without orthanc.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
PassionateMOCNoob replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I hope you're right but I have a feeling the ship won't be that big, and 11 minifigs is a stretch imo (Helmsdeep had 8). And because of the sets name 'Ambush' I think it will be either corsairs vs oathbreakers or orcs vs oathbreakers, and not all three. For the black gate set 6 minifigs and a molded eagle and (new) molded troll is a little much as well, although I think a troll will be almost a given since they are at both the battle and to open the gate, making them more important. I still hope for easterlings but I wouldn't be supprised if they are not released at all.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
PassionateMOCNoob replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well I guess 18 sets is indeed a little far-fetched but we can hope for a mix between Hobbit and LotR sets like Lordof theBricks said. I'm not too sure about the Corsairs ship being the biggest set though. I think that these ships could be sold for the same price as Mines of Moria for instance, since they aren't on the scale of the Black Pearl or some other major ships. If it's possible that there will be more sets released in the next wave, maybe there will be one that will be Helmsdeep or Goblin King Battle-ish in price.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
PassionateMOCNoob replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Those all look to be great aditions to the names you mentioned earlier, but there's still so much we would miss: Lorién (Galadriel, Celeborn), Faramir/rangers, Minas Tirith (Denethor, Citadel Guards with nice helmets), Easterlings, Barad-Dur, Minas Morgul, Edoras (or some other civilian setting) etc. The options are endless and if they continue in the manner of the first wave I have high hopes although I doubt we will see EVERY big event/location in a set.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
PassionateMOCNoob replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
How realistic is it for lego to release only 4 sets? I havn't followed lego in many years, but I think they always released like 6 sets in each wave, right?- 7,499 replies

Nice build, it really has an elvish feel about it. I like the colour of choice, and the mass use of arches. Good job on the minifigs as well. Like you said the water needs some work, and some small landscaping would be nice. Maybe add some banners as well?

I suggest you take a look at these two reviews and the comments, they helped me make my decision to buy it: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23975&hl=%2B10193+%2Breview http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27078&hl=%2B10193+%2Breview I myself bought it a couple of weeks ago, for 100 euro. It was totally worth it, great bricks for MOCing. I almost bought it twice to be honest...

Yes, and a head piece as well. So since they have two unique molds, why not create a whole new weapon? Really looking forward to that minifig, no matter how they create it. But I guess this belongs in the 2013 topic.
-
Don't forget the ugly staff of the Dragon Knight Wizzard, and the Fright Knight Witch.... I think it's nice we see a couple of new weapons in the Hobbit/LOTR line that were not in the last castle themes (correct me if I'm wrong): Short sword (Hobbits), Longsword (Eomer, Aragorn etc) and Elven bows (Elves obviously). I hope they will create a cool mold for the Witch Kings weapon, although it would be easier for LEGO to use the small chain that Dori uses.

Very nice piece of scenery! The whale looks awesome, and its skelleton looks cool. The cave/hill looks very realistic and I actually like the lack of furniture or other signs of long term stay because it looks like a temporary base used only to shelter or something. The only thing I would do different is that I'd put the axes leaning into the snow instead of letting them balance on the rear end.

Cool idea on the dead land. Never thought about a black landscape. The swamp looks nice too, many weird bricks for someone like me who just got into lego again (grey plant, where do you come from?!). Too bad the carriage didn't try to cross the swamp.

I'm from the Netherlands and would be interested in the mini figs! Maybe we could even trade some (I must have some Star Wars mini figs). Unfortunately I have no idea how I can send you a personal message, maybe I can't because I havn't reached XX posts yet...- 7,499 replies

Can I have them? I voted for Haldir because on a battlefield MOC his torso makes the most sense but if you'd build something like Rivendell MOC then I'd rather have those 'Barrel Escape' elves.

What's your latest acquisition?
PassionateMOCNoob replied to Konrade's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yes, I saw it, thank you. I scanned the forum for these sets so I didn't need it this time. Although it's nice I was warned about the amount of stickers in Moria.... I just didn't use them all! Why did you buy Attack of the Wargs? Did you do it for the minifigs? Bricks in the tree? The Wargs? -
Upset about the style and design they picked for the existing sets, or do you think they put wrong sets in this wave? What would you do better?

CCCX Pursuit in Blackhand Bay
PassionateMOCNoob replied to Mark of Falworth's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very nice action shot! I love the mediteranian medieval influence in the galley's! The mainland looks very realistic too. Must be quite demoralizing, though, to fight in full plated armour on the sea... -
What's your latest acquisition?
PassionateMOCNoob replied to Konrade's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Just ended my so called 'Dark Age' when I bought the following sets last week: - Medieval Market Village - Attack on the Wind Mill - Helms Deep - Mines of Moria Before I ordered I tried to read as much as I could about these sets, and I must say a community like this one helps you out quite allot in your Decision making! I almost bought only the first two on the list twice, instead of the LOTR sets because of the awesome items and animals. However, I'm happy with the choice I made and got my eyes on the Mirkwood Spiders next (also because everyone here praises that set). -
Review: 79002 Attack of the Wargs
PassionateMOCNoob replied to Big Cam's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's interesting to read that so many of you love this set, and voted for 'outstanding'. In my opinion it's a pretty weak set, although the bricks in the tree look to be very nice. Besides that Bifur looks cool, and more mordor orcs are always welcome Thorin does nothing for me. I don't like the orc leader for the simple reason that he doesn't look like an orc, which doesn't make him blend in nicely with the others. Like stated by the previous poster the rock formation looks a little useless too (I understand it's there for a function), but it's first impression is a little random. For some reason I don't really like the wargs either, probably because I would not buy this set more than once and having two wargs in different colours makes them weird. I think this is the weakest set of the hobbit line so far, especially for its price (60 euro).- 83 replies

Future LotR and Hobbit sets
PassionateMOCNoob replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really hope there will be at least one set where we can get Easterlings and Harradrim factions (preferably including a Mumakil). I believe the Harradrim is not that far fetched, as they are pretty famous from the movies during the Battle of the Pelenor Fields, but I fear for the 'forgotten' Easterlings. Also some rangers with Faramir would be cool, but they only fit either Osgilliath ruin (but I'd rather have Gondor soldiers there) or a scenery like 'the forbidden pool', and I don't think anyone wants more Frodo's and Gollums.
