As amazing as all this sounds, did Assyria ever fight or coexist with Sparta? I believe Assyria vs Egyptians or Mitanni or even Hittites but not any Greek states. I love your thinking though and would gladly accept a Persian/Parthian/Sassanid culture in Lego form along with others like Late Renaissance Northern Europe, Ottoman Empire or Imperial Russia.

His existing Elf helmet is absolutely horrendous and looks like his worst creation. Compared to his recent designs it needs an update badly.

The white extremis looking soldiers are the Atdp Pilots that wear the Ezra helmets we have seen. You can see the character in black is supposed to be Kallus because he has that Zeb like weapon.

Thanks for link! Lots of stormies in the sets: ITT has 4, AtDp has 1, Ezra's speeder has 1. Then we have Shadow troopers and tons of new clones. The Skyhopper and AtDp look great. No interest in Hailfire droid or AAT. The Shadow troopers and Geonosis Clones look great and even the little walker looks good. The ITT is severely downscaled but it's a cheap way to get 4 stormies. Can't see much of Anakin's custom starfighter but looks like it could be good with the price point. Prototype TIE looks a bit bare but it's prelim. Also microfighter ATAT looks so cute. The micro ATAT, Snowspeeder, Arc 170, and Gunship are the only good ones. No interest in battle droids in Vulture droid micro or other.

I like the blue markings on the helmet or frown face.

I would much prefer a set of the Tower of Ecthelion than a micro scale Minas Tirith. I know it is strange that Minas Morgul looks so odd in PJ films but if you look at the model it is bright white mostly. It is the very tips of the walls which are blighted and darkened. This is likely due to the corruption of Sauron or the WK. Then the orcs could have easily added wrought iron pieces to Mordorize the once proud city of Minas Ithil.

This is some great news! By TORN contacting Lego they have more leverage and influence in the LOTR community. At the very least Lego may be able to shed some light on Lego LOTR's fate.

You don't understand. Why does LOTR need a second d2c other than fulfilling afol character wishes? Every theme should have a d2c and the Hobbit hasn't had one. Also LOTR would never have been made in Lego form if it wasn't for the Hobbit license. It is not realistic and there is no precedent for a second d2c for a two wave theme like LOTR.

That's true no HP but the inclusion of the Beasts and Monsters should be great in Lego molded form. Hopefully Lego will pick up on this because it can have great potential.

In no way does LOTR deserve another d2c when the Hobbit has proven more relevant with sales, interest, and resources available. If anything the Hobbit should have a final set exclusive to end the line properly. Sadly Minas Tirith will never be made in Lego form officially as it is dull, too ambitious and not as appealing to the kids who actually prefer the Hobbit. I have seen kids at both Lego store in Orlando and in toysrus who examined and/or picked up Hobbit sets but never any LOTR.

I would prefer smaller modular sets as well since I haven't spent over $150 for a Lego set as of returning from my dark age. I am very tempted to get the Slave 1 though.

Cloud City would make lots of sense, Lando finally gets updated release, there's the Bespin Guard, and if we get an Ugnaut in the rebels set then that's a lot of things to be reused or finally released. Then there's the heavy Cloud City artwork (hint?) on the UCS Slave 1.

Yeah and at least SW gets Battlepacks unlike LOTR and Hobbit. And I love most of the SW Battlepacks. It would be nice however to get OT stormies since they are so prevalent in the Empire. I don't mind the Rebels ones however so I'll be happy with a BP like ITT.

Oh no I mean that having more sets with OT stormies will bring down the price on bricklink. I know it's not easy but it's easier than just one set having them.

At least you will have the UCS slave 1 to get more OT stormies and with more sets having this rendition it should mitigate the price somewhat. ;)

I don't have the quote but it was said that the mutant T-Rex also known as Diablous Rex looks natural just with bigger teeth, ability to camoflauge and some other minor details. Rest assured it won't look like a mutated freak.

Lego knows Lando's popularity so if he was not included in this UCS then perhaps he is being saved for another set in the future. It could even be the much desired Cloud City.

Cape printing? I didn't see any in the pics.

So what now? Will there be no castle theme in 2015 since we would have heard about it like other new sets.
