I am currently building the Countach (and very much enjoying the build so far) Not sure how the proportions will look in real life compared to the photos but I won't be comparing it directly so as long as it is recognisable as a Countach when it's finished and has some neat details then I will be happy. Certainly the interior so far is looking good One thing I have noticed already however from a technical POV is that the steering seems to have a lot of play in it. So much so that I test fitted the wheels and drove the chassis on my desk and the front wheels move about a lot to the point where they hit the bodywork. I have rechecked the steps to build the steering and it all looks right but there is a lot of play. It seems that the multiple ball joints just allow too much movement. I am going to look at either redesigning or maybe even removing the working steering and fixing the front wheels straight ahead as this is quite annoying. I might also look at fitting paper shims into the ball joints to tighten them up Has anyone else noticed this?

Just finished building Tudor Corner Overall, I enjoyed the build and it was interesting as I always make a point of not reading reviews or looking at modulars before I buy them and build them I think the finished building looks great. The only modification I made straight away was the removal of the red canopies above the windows as these wouldn’t typically be on a pub. I also enjoyed the techniques used for all the various clocks in the repair shop There were a few disappointments for me though: The lack of seating in the pub and the seats that are in there either have no studs for the minifigs or are too close to the window frames The footprint of the building just feels small even compared to other corner modulars. I don’t think it is much smaller than, for example, the cinema but it does feel it. Especially the top floor with the really thick walls and lack of bathroom/bedroom/anything else. I recently built the Icons castle which has a similar Tudor beamed effect but with much thinner walls. Better use could have been made of the already small floor space I really liked how all the clocks in the workshop are set to the same time - only to find the big clocks on the outside of the building are different The selection of minifigs feels stingy (I hate it when they include a dummy or skeleton in the minifig count). The chimney sweep was also disappointing with no printing on his body i remember last year being blown away by the museum but feel a little let down this year

Yeah, thanks guys. I was thinking along the same lines which is why I was wondering about any real-life experiences

Has anyone had any experience with sellabrick.com? Looks like webuyanycar for LEGO sets. Put a couple of sets into their tool and the prices were lower than you might get on eBay or elsewhere but not too silly and it all seems very straightforward and removes the general public from the equation i would be keen to know if anyone has tried them?
-
Thanks guys The points did get deducted Ok at the checkout. Looks like you get an exact amount rather than rounded in £5 lumps like you used to so I got £44 off instead of the £40 I was expecting. Happy days
-
But how do you know how much your points are worth without getting as far as the checkout?

Just building my Jazz Club and three quarters of the way through bag 12 and suddenly I’m out of parts! I only had one bag numbered 12 but it looks like there should be another. Can anyone confirm this? Also, before I then contact LEGO CS, can anyone also tell me if there should be one or two bags numbered 13? Thanks Looks like a mistake in the instructions: https://www.brickfanatics.com/psa-error-lego-icons-10312-jazz-club Can carry on again now…

The store I went to had them out for anyone to buy. Not hidden away and not checking for VIP membership before purchase. They had about 20 out in the store and were constantly topping them up as they were sold. Seemed to be the same as with the new modular sets every other year I can only think they were expecting supply issues and/or had supply issues in some places so the 4th Jan restriction to cover themselves
-
Popped by the local LEGO Store this morning and found they had loads of the Jazz Club in store and ready to go It was too busy to find out if anything had changed (since yesterday) or whether it was just a case of rubbish communication… Anyway, got my Jazz Club together with VIP Lunar New Year set and the Blacktron Cruiser so it all worked out in the end
-
I got the info from the store and from LEGO Customer Services:
-
Being a member or not doesn’t matter. The issue was trying to find out if I can buy the set in store on the 1st as I have done every year since these sets have been out. The delay to the 4th means I can’t buy it in store for a couple of weeks now as I will be back at work. I wanted to have it confirmed if the VIP early release was online only (which it is)
-
Have it officially now - The VIP only access is online only… Never mind…
-
If I get a chance I will do this. I have their number in my phone but haven’t had a chance to call yet (since finding out about the delay) Not so fussed about the GWP. If I get it then happy days but if not then no biggie. I never factor GWP items into my purchase plans
-
Ok, great. Thanks!
-
With the Jazz Club delayed to Jan 4th, LEGO have said that there is VIP early access from Jan 1st. However, it’s not clear from the website if early access is online only or also in store? It has become an annual tradition for us on Jan 1st to go to a local LEGO store and pickup the new modular and we want to do this again this year but with the delay and the unclear info about early access we don’t know if we can do this again this year Does anyone know…?

Scenarios and customisation using the additional parts I have no issue with. The app isn’t too much of an issue (as I generally use my iPad and PDFs to build anyway) My disappointment was simply the missing steps to complete the model. Probably doesn’t help that I don’t normally buy space sets so my experience and imagination when it comes to finishing the set myself is lacking I also got the pickup truck Missions set in the closing down sale but now that I know what to expect and as regular vehicles are much more in my wheelhouse this will hopefully be less strange for me
-
I got this set in a closing down sale locally i understood the app was required to build it but naively assumed that a PDF or similar instructions would be available through the app OK, I said, let’s go through the missions and build it that way. Except you can’t. Apart from the hull of the ship and some ancillaries they build is never completed in the app/missions. Each bag end with a do what you want sentiment and by the end of the missions you have 60% of a spacecraft and a huge pile of spare pieces As I said, I was expecting the app but never thought that you wouldn’t get a completed set at the end of it. The customisation/ideas concept and spare pieces to achieve it isn’t bad but the failure to show you how to complete the base model is not good Very happy with the minifigs and the LEGO Space flag though I’m just glad I didn’t pay full price for it!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
rriggs replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Picked up the BH and the new fire station today. Shop was busy but no queue to get in or anything like that when we got there just as it opened. Got little skate park set for free for spending over £40 When we walked back past an hour later there was a small queue outside (because Covid rather than outright busyness) Could still see plenty of BH sets in the store Have built the little skate park and the fire engine and chopper. Probably won’t start the BH until one evening after work -
Maybe a fake or might be a mistake or (less likely) some kind of special version that was done for a specific reason (a show or a giveaway?)
-
Can see the pics now and there is something not right about that second one Why would someone fake the packaging well and then put in crappy torsos? Very odd…
-
Can’t see either of your pictures now…

It’s genuine: https://brickset.com/sets/853378-1/LEGO-City-Accessory-Pack

Looks great, especially the back and the profile Is it hollow?

So, February was wishful thinking but I do now have the Police Station and was able to buy it from a LEGO Store which was nice. I got it a few weeks ago and have built it this week (I had a backlog of smaller sets to do first). I am very pleased with the set. An awful lot of building in it, even compared to other modulars, and I think the first LEGO set I have with two loos. I was surprised that a new piece (to me anyway) in the shape of the 3x1 inverted tile was solely used as a toilet roll holder! I was particularly impressed with the colouring of the building on the outside with little or no patchy bits like with most of the other modulars. The only bit I didn’t like building was the decorative corner pillars on the front as these were very repetitive. While building it, I found I was missing a 2x1 beige brick and had to use a spare of my own to finish the build. At the end I had a 2x1 beige sloped brick left over so went back through the instructions assuming I had messed up. Couldn’t see anything in the instructions so checked the inventory - there’s not supposed to be any 2x1 beige sloped bricks so looks like a mistaken substitution. I have ordered a replacement 2x1 beige brick and while I have had missing pieces in the past a substitution is a new one on me. Now I am planning on taking the team, furniture, computers, etc from my City police station which is being replaced by this modular one and bringing it up to date. Modulars might be buildings from a particular era but all of mine are in a modern city layout…

Good looking model with nice proportions Not sure the -200 style top deck goes with the winglets though and also that the winglets look a bit chunky (but then I am being fussy). Might be better just to lose them?
