  1. Time to post my latest creation and also my first post on my new blog This model performs quite well and is quite fun to drive around. The info: "I recently purchased the 8435 set and my first thought after I had built it was that it had to be motorised. So, after much trial and error, I have succeeded in motorising the model. It uses an XL Motor for drive (geared down 1:2) and a M Motor for steering. It is fully remote control thanks to the IR Receiver and the IR Controller. The body is still easily removable (however you need to disconnect and remove the battery box first...) and the overall appearance is pretty much the same. I got rid of the differential (as they worsen the off-road performance), the V6 engine (which I wanted to keep, however it was the only sensible place for the drive motor) and a couple of other axles and gears here and there to make everything fit. I also reinforced the rear suspension with hard springs."
  2. All the sets that have ever used the 56 x 26 tyre: http://rebrickable.com/parts/55976
  3. I only know about Panosonic and Pentax cameras, and the one I have are excellent, although the last few times I've used my tablet, it can produce some great shots, if the thing isnt moving....
  4. The clutch mechanism involves no special parts....
  5. I like the red one the best, good job
  6. This is INCREDIBLE. Good Job
  7. Aston Martin V12 Vantage perhaps? Relatively small wheelbase, with a V12 engine (I knew my car knowledge would come in handy one day... )
  8. i have a v1 receuver and i use alkaline batreries.
  9. I think its mainly just my batteries, which are weaker, the difference is hardly noticable tho.
  10. I am going to make my first car soon, and i must admit I'm probably trying to do way too much for the size, we'll just have to see.... Anyway, any hints on what V12 car you're going to try and base the bodywork on? or is it your own design?
  11. My differential has arrived and I have added it to my fast car. The handling is much improved and it has increased the speed through the corners. Unfortunately the straight line speed has decreased a bit but if you drive it round a twisty circuit, your time will be considerably faster Pictures are in my Flickr photostream (in my signature). I will make an LDD file for it, and can share it if requested.
  12. This is huge.... but I have a feeling that this either doesn't abide with the rules or will be way too expensive to win.... good model though
  13. When I first looked at the picture of your model, Sariel, I thought I was looking at the real thing! this is AMAZING
  14. I must admit, all but one of my models have studded beams in them, mainly as they're so easy to make a strong light chassis out of! plus the fact my collection is quite small and consists of quite a few studded beams...
  15. This looks like a very fast model, good job
  16. Out of the two I prefer the Brabham... How do they perform?
  17. I really want this set... but not for that price on ebay...
  18. Rosco, your F1 cars are AMAZING. My favourites are the Lotus 43, the fan car (as I like the cars in real life) and I like the McLaren for its incredibly smooth lines. Quick question, which ones are motorised?
  19. Ok I'll try and fit one in when my differential arrives... I have a pretty good idea on how to do it although it will make my model longer....
  20. If i wanted to test something, I would have to have it prepared for the one week where it does snow here in England. Allbthese models look great
  21. Under closer examination I think it is similar. however the dimensions are different, so is the cab, the back, the way the linear actuators are connected and so on. The only bit I can see which are identical are the fenders and the wheels. He may have taken inspiration from how you did this in his own model, but don't forget that you are both making a model of the same vehicle. I also think that as this is only similar (which would be logical as you are making the same model) I think he took inspiration from you, and besides, he can't have rebuilt a model like this brick for brick without instructions, so I think that he used your model as a basis to make his. After this I feel that this is not a copy so I think it was ok for him to enter it into the competition.
  22. Out of interest does adding a differential increase the turning capabilities? (I have bought the 8435 set very cheaply on eBay, now awaiting for it's arrival...)
