  1. Wow! Perfect rendition of that tower. This really takes me back. Well done, sir.
  2. The brick police, they live inside of this thread. Haha. On the real, Thranduil might be a huge character in the upcoming films, who knows. Either way, I don't think there have been any bad figures thus far and I imagine that will continue. I just hope we don't see too many dwarves re-released at the expense of any charatcer or potential army builder. I'm alright with the inevitable Gandalf's since I can use those torsos for Haldir and his crew from their Fellowship appearance.
  3. Well... They KINDA did... Haha.
  4. That probably has more to do with those two sets being rather mediocre/having no dynamic potential and having characters that are largely accessible elsewhere. Besides, while we logically understand that Frodo and Bilbo are the protagonists, they aren't exactly the most inspiring. I imagine the Wizard Battle is doing much better.
  5. I'm actually a really big fan of 5998 Vladek. I liked those Shadow Knights and it was, and is, a cheap way to get a few together.
  6. I've never even remotely seen this set. I'm not entirely convinced it actually exists. Haha.
  7. Yeah, really. What cool guys, bragging about something that less than no one considers impressive in the slightest. Go outside, get some sun, talk a girl, maybe, if you're feeling SUPER bold.
  8. Conquistador Alien Avenger Bandit Elf Roman Soldier
  9. That is crazy, exact opposite story over on my end. I don't think I've seen one purchased. I haven't even caught anyone of any age looking at one.
  10. It goes on the back, on the grey 2x2 SNOT piece. What a brilliant little set! I hadn't even given it a thought until I saw this review and immediately went and bought the next one I saw. Cheap, fun to build, fun to play with... I can't imagine how this set conceivably could have been better. Only my second Ninjago set but I may have to look into some others given how much I've enjoyed the two I randomly picked up.
  11. The only set I absolutely never see is Uruk-Hai Army. No surprises there. Everything else is readily available. Riddles for the Ring and Shelob Attacks have layers of dust on them. I'm genuinely surprised that Mirkwood Spiders doesn't get more play, being fairly inexpensive, but then again I haven't bought it so who's to say?
  12. A lot of people probably have the exact opposite thought. I agree with you, mind, I've got no use for the figure whatsoever, but I'm thinking I could probably flip it for a solid amount of dough and recoup some of the rather high MSRP.
  13. Just snagged 8777 Vladek Encouter and 8778 Border Ambush for $11. I'm not crazy on the theme, but I like the shadow knights and the seller swapped out one of the hero minifigs, the purple knight, for some other figure that isn't so garish. I'm pretty pleased with the pickup.
  14. Picked up Uruk Hai army at Target, was 30% off. Also, I finally found a couple of the Series 6 minotaurs, which should prove useful.
  15. Never seen it. Is it use of 'bones,' or my general sage wisdom? Haha.
  16. I really don't get Lego's logic on this one. Riddles for the Ring and say, Gandalf Arrives have no appeal to me whatsoever, and from the fact that I see them collecting dust en masse, I'm not alone there. I get that sets like that give kids a chance to get main guys on the relative cheap, but if there was a LOTR analogue to something like 6918 Blacksmith Attack with a couple of goons, it would sell like hotcakes.
  17. Take the name of one of history's all time rogue badasses and apply to this drowsy fool. For shame! Haha. Not feeling this concept at all. Or this line, for that matter.
  18. 50 bones for 426 isn't TOO bad for a Star Wars set. Between the speeder and the Snowtroopers, I think I'm going to have to grab this one. Gunner would have been nice but I guess there are plenty of pilots around and I'm not sure what I'd subtract from the set in order to incorporate one.
  19. I really like the German Mechanic. I think the figure conveys the sense of scale well, despite the obvious fact that he's the same actual size as every other minifigure. Not gonna be a popular pick, of course, but I was very impressed with this guy and thought I'd give him a write-in. Worst is a little tougher. I think the original General Grievous was pretty bad. White? I mean, monochrome is fine, but white?
  20. I really wanted to like this set, figured this would be the one I picked up, for novelty's sake... but the bike sucks. It looks preposterous. And if there's no analogue in the show, I don't get it. If it was less like a motorcycle in scope, say like the Brute Chopper in Halo, they could get away with the scale... but a giant ridiculous pseudo-motorcycle? To quote Hall and Oates, I can't go for that. And certainly not at 25 bones.
  21. Even then, I think there are probably cheaper ones available somewhere in the recesses of the web. I certainly wouldn't pay that much.
  22. Wish this was a few dollars cheaper. I'm thinking I won't buy this, but who knows when I actually see it. I've said that before, haven't we all?
  23. 1 by Lego-Maniac - 1 point 10 by DarthNick - 1 point 5 by MadAboutLego - 1 Point.
  24. 3 points for 21 by Runamuck. Awesome stuff, took me back.
  25. Ugh. Chicken suit guy, like the bunny suit guy from 7, is a nightmare. I have less than no use for that, and will presumably end up with multiples of them.
