  1. Boomingham nods. "Righto. I'll be back in the evening for my shift. May try to grab some shut eye before then." Boomingham meanders off to chat with Rex. "Go find somewhere to relax for a few hours. Meet me back here in the evening, but stay a few paces away - we've just got one more fox in the henhouse to catch." Boomingham waits until the evening and then returns to his post. He hides around a corner for most of it, reading his new book about gold making and copying down some of his favorite passages into his own tome. So enraptured, he totally misses Sarge and Eric when they roll through and sell some poison to the priest. Once evening has fallen Boomingham returns to the front of the Palace, still posing as the Crimson Bear.
  2. Current plan in 130 - go to the bog. Arrive in the afternoon. Warn the sister to leave before she's killed in the evening. megabluck with space and time.
  3. OoC: It should, good catch. Thank you. Oh, duh. That makes sense why you had no smelling salts in your inventory too, which I thought was weird. And it's an item I gave you to top it off. I'll go back and fix the round real quick.
  4. OoC: Should be fixed. Hybros, I assume the minimizing dust is from the lotto - if anyone else won anything else, let me know! I haven't kept up on it. Also, Hybros, you take a Nostrum and then act... which I'm confused by? Care to explain? I can't even find it as a Marauder skill. Sven stares at Hoke and Torc with a look of awe for a few moments, and then grins, drawing a fanged dagger. "So be it. I was a warrior once, and unlike Victor, age has not dulled my sword." 5. OoC: Dyric, my mistake - just edited it in, but you will be in charge of Eyric and McColt as well.
  6. "I know. I have seen the good that heroes have done. We have hired heroes in the past to help us broker our peace with Delfrin, and they have always delivered. I had always hoped that you might be among them. But of course it was fate instead of design that has brought us back together." "The entire city, or most of it at least, is built by the Giants. We inhabit the lands they left behind. But the mountain - few stray here. There are still dangers in the darkness that we have yet to clear. In Duplovia it is considered important to respect the past - those parts of it that we inherited as well as those we didn't. As for Orrik's relic - few believe it truly still lies in the mountain. If it does, and you recover it, it is yours. The people of Duplovia have never tried to find it." OoC: Sir Barkley and Captain Lane returned to the ship after Haddon. 7. Boomingham exhales softly. Disappointment. He had hoped that... when he had fought in the Orcish War, his boys had been the only thing he had trusted. They had stood by his side, and he at theirs. The standard for knights had gone down, it seemed. The Crimson Bear nods. "I figured as much. I'll go have a word with him, see if we can't track down whoever might be meddling." Boomingham bites his lip, taking another gamble. "Can't rightly recall where their hiding out now. Always moving about, here and there. Wouldn't be able to remind me, would you, buddy?" he asks the Baboon.
  8. Bow to three point lighting. Not dynamic enough. I actually almost did borrow iPhones for specifically that shot of the Giant's Hall, to high light all three pillars I built, but I never got around to it. That's how I do it too. But as my cast has grown and my pieces haven't much, I find that people often borrow each other's clothing. Specifically capes. Because everyone needs capes.
  9. Hey, you act like you would have been safe if you'd gone West, but don't forgot you're held accountable for Triad's death as well! Well, all the photos themselves are on the t3i, the iPhone is just my sole light. I wish I could get more creative with lighting - for example, the Giant's Hall is almost totally lost, but such is life.
  10. "Dope, good call, Mide. You da best." Bobby gives her a thumbs up before refocusing his energy.
  11. Boomingham bites his lip under his visor, a little concerned as to how much the knights all knew about each other's dalliances. He had assumed that they all kept to themselves... surely they weren't all corrupt across the board? These chaps, at least, he had assumed just liked to mess around behind closed doors, but here they were, apparently aware of the Crimson Bear's crimes too... he had hoped they'd help him deal with the Azure Eagle, but if they knew about his connections and were okay with them... "Easy enough time, yes." Boomingham keeps his sentences short. Fewer chances to slip up. "Some hooligans, a group of mercenaries I think, attacked me, but it was easy enough to deal with. So many sisters in the city bring in so many strangers. Made me a little worried. Thought I'd come back and see that you were okay as well. No idea where the Azure Eagle is, do you? Who knows why the baddies came after me, might be moving against the lot of us."
  12. "I feel you! But like, maybe Elnath might be able to dint him up a bit, yo!"
  13. Bobby steps into the front row and repeats his attack. "Mide, yo, we gotta deal with that big dude, right? Or else he'll just keep yelling for more dudes, you dig?"
  14. "Thank you. I will be sure to come rest here when I have the need." The Crimson Bear bows magnificently and retreats to the street. It is still midday, but he has little idea how to actual accomplish his final goal. He sighs mightily, and then mustering up all of his courage waves over to the two rainbow guards, making sure his visor is down tight. He alters his voice to sound like the Crimson Bear best he can. "Hello," he says, trying to keep it simple. "Bit early for my shift, huh?"
  15. <I'm afraid the time for that is over,> says U'Daras to the little dragon as she swoops by. From atop the battlements... well, thinks look as bad as Vipera feared. Out of the woodwork comes all of Dastan's disgruntled citizens. Hoke tries to do a headcount, but loses his place somewhere in the sixties. Inside the doors, Mallelio stands, nearly frozen. "This is going to be a massacre," he nearly whimpers. "I do not know what to do. Neither side will stand down." "Don't know what to do? We fight. Tarn, Mallelio, remain inside unless the heroes call you. It's unclear how the citizens will react to you." She turns to the heroes and Lady Felix. "Let's move." The heroes and their companions step outside. Sven stands opposite the princess, leading an enormous group of citizens, and from other alleys more and more protesters leak. "...it is our right!" he calls out. "We are allowed to call for it. Good gods, it's even named Right of the People!" "Emperor Victor is in no state to fight. He is sick." "I don't doubt it. He must have grown weak in his old age if he's naming a U'Kin his heir." "Sven, the U'Kin have been citizens of this country long as we have-" "What about the Pongcanis?!" growls a bulky Pongcanis, backing up Sven. "Where is our leader?" "What about those of us who served?! In the battle of Drakencourt, in many more! Who will we be answering to next? One of the fish faces, maybe?" "Dastan for the Dastanians!" "If you will not grant us an audience, then we'll take it by force," growls Sven. He turns to his amassing forces. "Leave the Princess alive. Spare all others that you can. If they chose to fight to the death, so be it!" The heroes back against the palace, forming a protective circle around Ella. OoC: Check your stats carefully, I'm pulling them from a bunch of different places. 16. I also strangely keep waiting for that. I guess it just feels it'd be appropriate for him. There are some of you I'm going to have to demand be on my finale.
  17. I use a Canon T3i along with the sun/my iPhone. I wish I had a better lighting set-up (I actually work on film sets at school and of course we have wonderful lighting set ups there, and then I go home and am stuck with just an iPhone) but you make due with what you've got.
  18. Superb game, followed it off and on but always read the beginning and end of the day - great writing, great photography, great intrigue! A huge thumbs up and congrats from me. (Also read the last few days pretty closely, and seriously, all across the board enjoyable - both host and players alike!).
  19. I know people clammer for shorter quests. The main issue is that battles are by necessity longer at higher levels, due to balancing/giving everyone something to do. You want shorter quests, you want shorter battles, you want to wear fewer artifacts.
  20. OoC: Hey, sorry Sandy, maybe I'm being thick but how do I get the suit to do what it's supposed to (make people think I'm the Crimson Bear). Thought that was in the description/would happen automatically. Boomingham straightens his armor. "We... don't have to gold at the moment. But I'm here on official business anyway." Boomingham clears his throat, speaking as diplomatically as possible, and hoping his armor might make it more likely that the Almagesta would ask his help. "The Almagesta has come to suspect that two of her other Rainbow Knights are performing... acts, behind closed doors of this very establishment. It seems to be distracting them from their duties. She has asked me to look into things. Might you know anything about it? I am aware you run a business here, your involvement in letting me in on the know would not ever come to light."
  21. Lady Talligard bows at Dyric's news. "We imagined as much. Triad did not die in vain then. We understood the risks, and we chose our path. Know that we fought until our final moment, and if you see Atramor, tell him we do not blame him. If the battle was won, the cost was what it was." There is a knock at the door. Daneeka goes to answer it, and two figures step into the Hall. "I've got a meeting with the King tomorrow. So we'll have to go get this thing tonight." McColt glances at the figure who accompanies him. "This is the man sent to check on us. Says he'd like to give us a hand... apparently he's fond of heroes, but still looking to run into a particular one." "Where are we headed?" asks the figure, staring at Dyric intently. "Guts can lead the way." As Eyric and Dyric fall into step with each other, Guts, Matthias, McColt, Pylon and Daneeka walk towards a mountain at the edge of the city. There is a great gaping hole there... and darkness within. Enormous pillars are built onto either side of a Hall so tall the ceiling is near impossible to see. The heroes can only imagine what once walked these Halls. OoC: Legonator, I'd like to give you license to decide how Eyric reacts to Dyric - I've read over his character and am not totally sure, though they seem to be on good terms. But I think you deserve to write it out, and then I'll take my cue from there and hop into his shoes.
  22. 41 is the shortest quest.
  23. Bobby hangs back and attacks Mob A from the back row. "Yo, dudes, we're just trying to save Bain's love, you dig? So like, no need to fight. Then we're gonna go save the Brown Nekrastone and everything will be chill so really you're just making things all effed up by fighting us, know what I'm saying?"
  24. Well, there's a rule against that, apparently, so no dice. But otherwise, I don't see the trouble. Hell, MDM gave a bunch of items to his secondary character when he made him and no one cried about it, even though that was absurdly over powered for a level 1. I'm not saying we shouldn't say that Goliath should stick with a character. That is absolutely my advice. I think you'll enjoy the game more that way, Goliath. But if you want to stick with the game and start a new character after every quest... maybe that's what's fun for you!
  25. The doors to the Ambassador Quarters fly open. Natasha stands in the doorway. "Come swiftly. The people are gathering outside. Ella is attempting to speak with them, but things aren't looking good." Hybros, Hoke, Arthur and a bleary eyed Purpearl all stumble out of bed and into their armor. Lady Felix stands cooly at their side. In the Hallway, Tarn and Natasha are waiting. "I don't know what to do. Ella warns that stepping outside to be beside her may only enraged the people more... but I cannot bear to not protect her. What do you think I should do, my friends?" "Vipera, U'Daras and U'Voros are already out there with them." She turns to the Dragoons. "Your dragons are circling over head." A voice rings out in the heroes heads. <They are many, behind Sven. And more coming. Move swiftly, heroes. We may need your numbers.>
