  1. OoC: Their job class is a Rogue, so when they roll shield, they gather gold equal to the amount of damage they deal. They dealt a total of 6 damage, because that's all the health Barkley had left (they could have dealt 8 if he had been at full health). Round Six Pillus Battle Russel & Pigley v. Pullis - Hit (4) Russel & Pigley v. Pullis - Damage (3) Siercon v. Pullis - Shield (5) L'Oreal Diablo v. Pullis - Damage (3) The battle continues. Russel and Pigley stab at the Frog, who blasts them back with a holy blast from his huge throat. Siercon now feels like he's mastered his element. Magic bubbles forth and explodes out. Since Pillus is the only enemy, he is the only one hit, but even so, Siercon saves ether on the attack that seemed to come of it's own accord. The Frog whips out it's tongue and bounces upwards into L'Oreal's face, lashing one of his eye holes. L'Oreal stumbles back. The poison takes it's toll. The Enemies Sir Pillus *Poisoned* Level 3 Beast Health: 11/30 Ether: 1/2 Special I (used if there is ether): Amphibiannoc's Blessing - Restores 10 health to self and all allies. Special II (used if there is no ether): Lizoot's Curse - Poisons the hero, and restores one ether to Sir Pillus. 2. Round Six Arena Battle Docken v. Knight - Special Damage Docken v. Knight - Critical Hit (([11x2]+22)-4=40) Hybros v. Rogue - Shield Critical Hit (+36 Gold) (Rogue: No Assassination) (Knight: No Assassination) Hybros v. Rogue - Critical Hit Miss ([9x2]+18=36) (([9x2]+18)-4=32) (No Assassination) Guts v. Rogue - Hit Damage (32/2=16) (+3 health) The battle continues. The Knights slams Docken into a wall of the Arena, dazing the ranger as he lowers his shield. Docken fires off a quick bolt and snags the Knight right above the heel before the shield slams itself into the ground. Hybros once more steals past the enemies' defenses with a well thrown cog, but all he collects this time is gold, and no lives. He tosses next his Bladerang, which hits both Knight and Rogue. Guts stabs at the Rogue as he runs to get behind the Knight's shield, and feels as some warmth returns to his own limbs. The curse does it's work. The Enemies Rogue Level 17 Health: 596/657 Special: Mug – Deals 27 damage to the hero and takes gold from them equal to their level times 2. 3. OoC: Now, you get to see how QM's make mistakes too! I forgot to deduct the one ether your spell cost last round Siercon. This has been fixed. Round Five Pillus Battle Russel & Pigley v. Barkington - Shield ([2x3]+2=8 (6)) (+6 gold) Russel & Pigley v. Barkington Pillus - Miss Siercon v. Barkington Pillus - Hit (5) L'Oreal Diablo v. Pillus - Hit (5/2=3) The battle continues. Russel and Pigley bear down on Barkley and hold him at sword point. "Yield" the dog whimpers. Siercon fires off another spell that slams into the Dark Frog Paladin's side. L'Oreal pokes the end of his blade into the Frog gingerly, but the poison flows forward all the same. As the Frog cringes from the new chemical in his blood stream (-1), Russel calls out to his allies. The Enemies Sir Pillus Level 3 Beast Health: 21/30 Ether: 1/2 Special I (used if there is ether): Amphibiannoc's Blessing - Restores 10 health to self and all allies. 4. OoC: Um, from reading the rules over, along with my very own description of Bomb XX, I'd answer that question with a "hell yeah"!
  5. Yes, Sandy has already weighed in, but I had to ask him/her the same thing when I got that roll. You can ALWAYS say you love the way I'm doing stuff. Thank you! Oh, I know it well. They're both attentive and into the game. I couldn't have asked for anything more! And yes, you lucky dog, it turns out that without 15 advanced classes and 6 normal classes to look up the rolls for, spread over 19 players, quests aren't that painful to run .
  6. An awesome MOC! I wish I was around for Fabuland, or had the money to spend on Bricklink, because your MOCs always inspire me. I love the griding used outside (the turning pieces without their turning circles... I know I've seen the technic before, but I still love it in this) and the window up top and in the center is awesome. You must have a blast figuring out how to combine cool effects with small lego pieces and mixing in real bulky Fabuland pieces, and it shows, because it always looks awesome. And of course, I have high expectations for the Forest II. We all play as Frogs and every time there is a conversion a Fabuland figure appears and brings back four dead players for the Mason who is the only true townie, but also an NPC. Also, everyone has three faces that change every two days and our powers change on nights that are multiples of 2.3. Finally, I HAVE to assume that there will be at least 17 factions, all of whom can convert each night, and votes only count if you proxy them to the "Flexible Feline" first. No player will know who the Flexible Feline is, not even the "Flexible Feline". Also, explosive apples.
  7. ...me too. Damn it. Will fix it, thanks for the catch! Punii is worth a lot.
  8. ...months. Months and months ahead of time. Now, for Q36. I told you to MAKE SURE that I commented at the end, and here is why: I loved it. I didn't read it post for post, but I plan to at some point. Here's what I loved: THE PROGGS! You successfully fully and truly created an entire race of peoples with their own rules and societies and life cycles. We know where the Proggs come from, how they grow up, how they mature, how they interact, what their thoughts are, etc. It is awesome. If we ever run into another Progg, we will know literally so much about them. It is like you took a long textbook passage on the Proggs and expanded it into a quest with an interesting story.
  9. Round 5 Arena Battle Docken - Stunned Docken - Stunned Hybros v. Rogue - Critical Hit Critical Hit (No Assassination) Hybros v. 10. You'd be able to assassinate. As with a regular Knight's Sentinel, damage will not be calculated, but all effects will. I'd count the assassination as an effect.
  11. "My friend from the highlands! I'm doing well enough, I suppose. Hung around Eubric and stopped some wacky Mage from destroying the city. Wasn't too tough. Made some allies and some enemies. Haldor over there is a solid enough man, and Nur, wherever he may be... don't know if I can actually trust him, but he's good in a tight spot, and for a laugh. Jess and Docken proved their worth. I'm hoping to go after the Wolfgang with the Town Watch, I don't trust that lot, and they owe me some money. I say anyone should be able to move up, but they've got to do it honestly. We're all playing the gain game, might as well all play it fairly. What have you been up to?"

  13. I think I'm going to stick the way I did it... though I agree that's a more foggy area. It claims it does damage to all enemies, but the description of lethal aim says "the rogue has a 1/6 chance to assassinate the target". Nope, sorry. Yes, that would work.
  14. Boomingham walks back into the Hall and is pleased to see that his young friend Ellaria, who he has not seen for a long time, have arrived back in the Hall. He walks over to her, mumbling to himself. "I only met her once, most likely not going to remember me, but Haldor and Alexis are with her and I'm sure they'll-" Boomingham stops in his tracks when he sees how upset she is. He looks at Haldor, and their eyes meet for a moment. Boomingham nods bravely to his friend. "Best let her be with those closest to her, whatever it is," he murmurs, wishing Haldor the strength to talk to her kindly. He walks over to a table, gives a smile and nod to another one of his newly returned oldest friends, Tesni, and sits down. "Anyone care to share an ale?" he calls out to the Hall, hoping to gain company and draw any potential unwanted attention away from the poor grieving girl.
  15. Round 3 Arena Battle Docken v. Ranger - Critical Hit ([11x2]+20=42) Hybros v. Rogue - Special Damage Special Damage (27/2=14) (18x2=36 gold from Hybros) (20 gold from Hybros) Hybros v. Rogue - Damage Lethal Aim (No Assassination) (9 damage to Rogue/Ranger) (9-4=5 damage to Knight) Guts - Uses a Nostrum Free Hits Knight v. Docken ([19/2]-15=1) The battle continues. Docken fires another deft shot as Hybros and the Rogue exchange blows and gold. The bladerang flies off and slams into the Knight and Ranger as Guts downs his nostrum. The curse takes it's toll, but Hybros is too weakened to notice it. The Enemies Rogue Level 17 Health: 648/657 Special: Mug – Deals 27 damage to the hero and takes gold from them equal to their level times 2. I believe since the Rogue was the only one targeted when Lethal Aim was rolled, he should be the only one considered for assassination, even though they all take damage, right? Or do you think since the bladerang hits them all, they should all be considered for assassination?
  16. Round 2 Arena Battle Docken v. Ranger - Critical Hit ([11x2]+20=42) Hybros - Uses a Nostrum Hybros v. 18. I'm sorry, what I mean by "draining" is forcing players to use items. The reason I do this is that I personally have so many I never feel the NEED to use, because I never feel threatened enough to need that extra push and both Boomingham and I are a little miserly and hoard things until we think we will really need them (I only ate Halloween candy on very special occasions, because I didn't want to waste it). In this case, I cut you off from supplies for an actual game mechanical reasons.
  19. Alright, as is custom, Badger Badger Badger deserves a review. As many people may have realized by now... I love QMing and reading other quests and how they are QM'd, so this is one of my favorite parts of the game. DD - Your quest felt VERY different to me compared to other Heroica Quests. Not at all in a bad way... or even in a way I can explain. It just felt very different. It felt almost... more sweeping? They did a lot, and many events didn't relate to the storyline, but again, that's not bad, just different. It was a bit like WBD's style. The sets were beautiful, but the colors happened to be darker than most other sets we've seen so far in Heroica. This also added to the different feel, I think. I loved the events - fishing and the bank were highlights. I loved that the heroes just glanced upon many pieces of stories - the old man in the ship's bar, the robbers at the bank, even the bank employees and their strangeness, boarding the ship late, etc. The avatars for NPCs, even, felt different. (PS - get those NPCs to me at some point in the next two weeks or so if you feel up to it!) My two critiques - 1) Speed. I think the quest could have sped along much faster. You were notably hindered by players who didn't really comment all that much (what's up with that, guys?), but still, you had a long quest with only 44 pages. So, that's critique #1. 2) The ending was kind of a flash! I wasn't entirely certain how all the villains got to one place. Particularly the head of the thugs from the sewers confused me, I thought he was sort of on their side? Anyway, the motives of Favorius confused me slightly. He seemed to be both good and evil... but he wasn't delved into too much, and he gave up on his life's dream pretty quickly. I liked MOST of the end, however, and again, the over-all story line and side-plots that were skimmed upon were very cool. Also, even though it's buried up there a few times... my thoughts on the sets:  . Players - Where were you guys? Etzel never really fully returned... and Tesni ended up dragging the party across the finish line. It's too bad, and also confusing, because all four of you are pretty awesome players, and awesome characters on top of that. I feel an opportunity was missed as far as roleplaying went - so much more could have happened between the four of you. Oh well. Overall, yet another great Quest to add to the history of Heroica!
  20. Well, I'll admit that with three of the most powerful players, it was SORT OF for balance, but also for another reason, which we can discuss at the end of the quest. Just remember, with all Zepher quests I'm trying to push the boundaries of the game while staying within the mechanics. They're really hard to keep track of too. I literally worry every time that I post a battle that I've made it way to challenging. Every single time. You should have seen the QMs of Quest 30 fretting about the impossibility of the battle we created. But if we didn't find them impossible, how much fun would it be. The Zepher QM Motto: "Drain the hero's inventories, force tough roleplaying, push the expectations of the battle, QUESTS SHOULD HAVE EVER POTENTIAL OF BEING FAILED!"
  21. <--- That's "Papa Zeph's Proud Face". That's the kind of interaction AND planning I like to see out of a Heroica RPGer, Adam. I'm proud to have brought you and Siercon into the game. Q41 has been a great fun (and easier than any other of my insane quests) to host! BD, just making sure you understand the Notes attached to the Ranger. If you roll a damage or special damage, you will be poisoned.
  22. The heroes walk back to the center of the Arena. Hybros feels the Golden Armor weighing on him heavily. It is clear that he will not be able to take it off during this battle. Emperor Hughes has assembled the three enemies that the heroes have chosen to fight, and yet they all find it hard to pull a real image of them to mind. They all just seem to be... general shapes. 23. OoC: Which three are you officially fighting?
  24. OoC: There ya go, Siercon! When you have more weapons, mention which one you're channeling the spell through, because it will matter for damage calculation. Since you only have one weapon, that isn't important right now. Also, make sure you learn which spells are good against which enemies. It will, again, become important later. Round Four Pillus Battle L'Oreal Diablo - Potion on R&P (+10) Russel & Pigley v. Pillus - Miss Russel & Pigley v. Barkington - Miss Siercon v. Barkington - Critical Hit ([3x2]+2=8) The battle continues. L'Oreal heals Russel and Pigley, who try to fight, but are still woozy from recovering and unable to hit anything. Siercon fires off his first spell with spectacular results, hitting Barkley, who is thrown back yelping by the blast of light. Pillus jumps clear, off Barkley's back, at the last moment, and the pair face down the heroes, who look like they may have just turned the battle.
