  1. Oops. I guess I should have checked things out more carefully... this is a new and unique item, sorry if it shares a name with something else.
  2. "Sorry, but I'm not actually sure exactly what it does myself!"
  3. They cannot heal themselves (they are not a cleric or an advanced class of a cleric, and they have no potions). HOWEVER, you may use a potion on them, and heal them for 10 health. It will cost you your turn and a potion, but it may make strategical sense. It's up to you! You could even wait a few rounds before doing it, if you'd like.
  4. Party Leader, just for future reference, please bold all important choices (moving to the next area, who you'd like to fight). Even if it's just for conventions sake, it helps me make sure I'm not rushing you along! The heroes trudge away from the cages and approach U'Ordiussum. "Hello, champions. I have an offer for you. Emperor Hughes is not a bad man, but he wishes for excitement. This fight will be a closer match than he is allowing you to believe. I have recently received a shipment of Golden Armor. I would like to gift it to you, for this upcoming fight." "Pst," says a voice, and U'Ordiussum freezes. The heroes look around, and further down the arena's wall, see a man standing. He beckons to the heroes. "Hello. My name is Gerald! I live in Eubric Freeport. It's a truly lovely city, but I want to get out and see the whole world, you know? While I'm young and still can. Haha. I hail from a small island, and now I've been to almost all known continents. I've even been greeted as a distinguished guest some places! Ha! Imagine that, me, a distinguished guest! Too wonderful." "Anyway, I don't know if you should take the armor. Sounds pretty risky to me. I've been pretty successful... don't want to toot my own horn... but you know, I have done pretty well, and I've always played it safe." The fog billows forward and the heroes are blinded by the whiteness for a short while. When it recedes, a new man stands in the past one's place. "Like I was saying, you must take the armor. The world is so very small, I fear I've already seen all of it. It's my third time here, and the city no longer surprises me. And Eubric. Ha! I used to think that there were so many things left to be discovered there. Now I know every stone of every walk-way and every building. Some people would call that 'being at home' in the city, but I call it the city being a bore. If the Emperor is giving you a chance to see something new, I say go for it! Always go with your gut, that's what I always say. Hasn't failed me yet." "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm afraid I'm late. So much to see. Hopefully." The mist billows forward again, and when it recedes once more, Guffington is gone. "How about that armor, then? Will any of you take it? All of you?" Would any of the heroes like to accept the armor?
  5. Round 2, Pillus got special damage, though I may have forgotten to subtract the ether.
  6. "Pleasure," says Booomingham with a grin. He gives Fabian's hand a hearty shake before heading back to Portia's shack. He shells out 30 gold for 2 more Meads (79 gold remaining).
  7. OoC: Quite alright, got to learn at some point. Read any other quest, and you'll see my questies fixing my mistakes instead of the other way around. Round Three Pillus Battle Russel & Pigley v. Pillus - Damage (3) Russel & Pigley v. Barkington - Critical Hit ([2x2]+2=6) L'Oreal Diablo - Venom Siercon - Potion The battle continues. Russel and L'Oreal slice open Pillus on either side, but he heals himself quickly, and Barley lunges at all the heroes, his teeth gnashing. He takes a chunk out of Siercon's leg and crunches on the fingers of L'Oreal's hand. The Enemies Sir Pillus Level 3 Beast Health: 30/30 Ether: 1/2 Special I (used if there is ether): Amphibiannoc's Blessing - Restores 10 health to self and all allies. Special II (used if there is no ether): Lizoot's Curse - Poisons the hero, and restores one ether to Sir Pillus. Drops: Tonic, Staff of the Frog Paladin Barkley Barkington Level 4 Beast Health: 14/20 Special: Call of the Wild - Barkley let's his inner wild self out, dealing 3 damage to all the heroes. Drops: 20 Gold, 2 Potions The Party L'Oréal Diablo, Level 2 Rogue Power: 5 Health: 5/8 Gold: 0 Inventory: Scimitar (Longsword, WP: 3 *Poisoned*), Potion, Potion, Bedroll, Sylvania's Cowl (Artifact, Head Wear, Grant user Animal Talk) Siercon, Level 2 Mage Power: 5 Health: 6/6 Ether: 5/5 Gold: 0 Inventory: Staff (WP: 3), Diamond, Bedroll, Sylvania's Cowl (Artifact, Head Wear, Grant user Animal Talk) - Russel & Pigley, Level 2 Rogue *Hastened* Power: 4 Health: 6/16 Gold: 0 Inventory: Claw (Sword, WP: 2), Crab Shell Armor (+4 max. health), Pigley, (+4 max. health, permanently hastened)
  8. On each turn of the battle you must use either a item OR attack. Using your venom would take up a full turn. And Siercon, read over your class details again. The wonderful thing about mages is that they are the only class that DOESN'T need to imbue their weapons with gems to do elemental damage. They my use "loose" gems to cast spells. Currently, you can cast light spells, because you have a diamond.
  9. The Cleric replies: "I worship Mercutio!" "No," is the resounding chorus. "Do any of us really know anyone?" asks the Rogue sadly. The heroes are approached by a U'Kin in armor. "Hello. You are the Champions that Emperor Hughes hired? My name is Emperor U'Ordiussum. I hate that Hughes has allowed you to fight, but I'll respect it. I cannot, however, permit him to get you killed by these criminals. When you've picked the people you'd like to combat, please come visit me, and I will outfit you to prepare you for your fight."
  10. 10 damage to heroes, 30 damage to enemies, disregards row/SP. It was actually designed to fight the Chimera Guards when they were all hurt, but you didn't want to risk them reviving each other. But you figured out another way.
  11. This is a very good idea. It would effectively add the omph of that extra multiplier, and would make sense story-wise if the mages learned to focus enough to be able to pick the elements, like Pandora said.
  12. The Rogue says: "Oh no, oh no, oh no." The Mage says: "Which of you wish to fight us, and which of you prefer a clean, well, cleaner death?" The Knight says: "Don't fight me! I'm the weakest! That's unfair! Don't fight me! I'm the weakest!" The Rogue says: "Oh no, oh no, oh help me! I'm scared of the Ranger." The Barbarian says: "I fear no one, not even the mage, who has seen just as many battles as I!" The Ranger says: "Give me forty gold and I'll throw the fight. Pick me and the Barbarian and the Mage, you'd make quick work of them with me sitting out." The Cleric says: "The Knight is the strongest. I'd be most afraid to fight him."
  13. "Well, I am here to kill you. Are you prepared to fight for your life?" The heroes see that they may address as many of the prisoners at a time as they'd like. (Just to speed things along a little).
  14. Siercon, please always indicate a row. Also remember, as a mage, you have 2 options. A physical attack (damage dealt by this will be halved if in the back row) or a spell (an elemental attack that can be launched at full force from the back row, but costs one ether). If you use a spell, you must still use a weapon, but you should indicate: I'll do a fire spell through my staff from the back row. Look at Nyx (Pandora) in Q30 for an example of how a mage should cast spells, she always writes them out with all the proper info! Round Two Pillus Battle L'Oreal Diablo v. Pillus - Hit (-5) Russel & Pigley v. Pillus - Hit (-4) Siercon v. Pillus - Special Damage (+10 health enemies) Russel & Pigley v. Barkley - Special Damage (-3 health all heroes) The battle continues. 15. Just his room. The same goes for all positive and negative effects caused by both heroes and enemies.
  16. Round One Pillus Battle Russel & Pigley v. Barkley - Damage (-4) L'Oreal Diablo v. Barkley - Miss Siercon v. Barkley - Damage (-2) Russel & Pigley v. Pillus - Miss The battle begins. Lizoot seems to be watching over his most devote follower. The heroes and their allies are beat back by a series of blows. The Enemies Sir Pillus Level 3 Beast Health: 30/30 Ether: 2/2 Special I (used if there is ether): Amphibiannoc's Blessing - Restores 10 health to self and all allies. Special II (used if there is no ether): Lizoot's Curse - Poisons the hero, and restores one ether to Sir Pillus. 17. I'll be in transit tomorrow and on vacation for the next week. I have been assured that I will have wifi... but there is always the slim chance that I have been lied to. If that is the case, we will resume my two solo quests next Sunday. I HIGHLY doubt that will be the case, just warning you all as a precaution.
  18. The Mage replies. "Are you aware of your situation?"
  19. It was a needed change. I'm a potential scroll user too (if I can ever lay my hands on one), so I've shot myself in the foot as well.
  20. "Well I'd imagine that they'd kill you!" "Fight to the death. You take them out, or they take you out."
  21. The heroes are whisked away from the clock suddenly. Their feet feel like they are caught in a terrible riptide, and though all the heroes struggle, they are yanked backwards and lose their footing. Face down they are dragged through the mist. The ground has disappeared. They feel as if they are flying through a cloud, feet first. The heroes hear voices whispering to them: “So much for friends,” a voice says. “They sold you out as soon as I offered the choice to them.” "You think of yourself as a hero opposing violence, yet there is blood on your own blade. If the freedom of my kind could be achieved without bloodshed, it would've already happened. Gods know I have tried... Take care now, champion. And remember: a day will come when you have to choose." "This is what I offer, do not fear my friends the trumpet of progress!" The heroes land standing, and feel a little jarred. Below their feet is sand. The mist clears a little and they find themselves in an Arena. "Hello. Are you the Champions we were waiting for? Fantastic! My name is Emperor Hughes, how are you?" "I'm glad you've arrived, and just in the nick of time too. If you hadn't arrived, U'Or would have executed all of them. The prisoners, that is, of course. Not the people. Emperor U'Or would never do that. No one would." "Anyway, we struck a deal. I got to have three of the prisoners fight three champions, and he'd execute three. I thought it was fair to let them try to fight for their freedom. Each man should have the right to what he merits, and if they earn their lives in combat, they certainly deserves them. That's my way of thinking, at least." "You may pick which three you fight." Emperor Hughes gestures down the wall. The heroes see six small windows, looking in on cells. All the cells are too foggy to see into, but voices can be heard in some of them muttering. "There is a Rogue, a Knight, a Mage, a Ranger, a Barbarian, and a Cleric. Talk to them if you like, and then pick three to fight."
  22. OoC: You MAY put them in twice. If you don't, QM's will list it like this automatically: Russel & Pigley Russel & Pigley L'Oreal Diablo Siercon HOWEVER, you may, strategically, want the two actions spread out. In this case I can't think of how it would matter, but sometimes it does.
  23. Yes, I agree with you about healing, that's part of my point actually! That doesn't target an enemy, so free hits are taken. The scroll targets the enemy, so they are literally unable to deal damage: no free hits, and the rolls can't hurt the user either. Using items allows for free hits, as does sitting out a round. I suppose using a scroll could count as using an item, and the targeted enemy could still get free his, but it just makes more sense to me if fives and sixes function normally. When you use a spell on an enemy, that's how fives and sixes work, and scrolls function essentially as a spell in all shapes and forms.
  24. OoC: Remember, Russel and Pigley are hastened, meaning they may act twice. Also, any enemies untargetted will get a free hit! Just making sure we're on the same page.
  25. Don't know where else to put this, but thought, since it's our one year anniversary month, I would share a little bit about what my future thoughts for the game are. just to prove that I enjoy the game as much as our other hardcore fans. Flipz does in-depth analysis, I plan future quests. SO, here are ALL the quests I intend to host over the game's history, and the NPCs who might populate them (will populate them), along with the dates I hope to host them: Wren #4 - Reoccurring NPCs in the Wren Quests (August... if Dastan ever ends ) Wren #5 - Reoccurring NPCs in the Wren Quests (Winter 2012) Guffington #2 - Reoccurring NPCs in the Guffington & Wren Quests (Spring 2013) Guffington #3 - Reoccurring NPCs in the Guffington & Wren & Animals Quests (Summer 2013) Big War Quest - Reoccurring NPCs in the Big War Quests, Possibly Animals Quests (Summer 2013) NPC Finale Quest - Reoccuring NPCs in the Guffington & Wren & Animals & Big War Quest (Winter 2013) After that, I'm retiring.
