  1. "You know what I've got my eyes on, Ellaria," Boomingham says calmly. He then tosses the smoke bomb back to Skrall. "Thank you, Ogre." Boomingham glances too at Nyx, but then averts his gaze and looks instead at the little Rockling. "Hope you're alright, chappo. I'm genuinely sorry we couldn't be here sooner."
  2. There will be a wedding for Tarn and Ella too, quite probably, but I will put it within the context of a quest. Many people will be invited, of course! Though there will be a strict no bombs policy for Atramor.
  3. Why not put it in the Hall or training room? What's the worse that happens? You have to scroll a bit extra? I don't mind doing that so that someone else can have their fun. EDIT: Though, come to think of it, I suppose people with slower browsers would have to load all the pictures and that can be a pain, so maybe I'm wrong and speaking from a position of blind privilege.
  4. I have to agree with MDM - I think it's fair to tell you that probably no one will read that much, but the game should be for you (while not HARMING any other players), so as long as it isn't ruining anything for anyone else and you don't expect anyone to read it all, I think you're fine doing whatever!
  5. "No one ever notices me, except that nice elf lady," whines Barty to Ellaria. Boomingham glances up at the angel's high-pitched voice. "Oh, Barty, hardly noticed that you were around. My vision is still a little battered from being whacked over the head so many times. Guess I ought to follow the boy and attack, huh?" Boomingham swings his sword at the Rogue Knight from the front row.
  6. OoC: So you did. Of course, it doesn't matter how quickly you win this fight if the other quests aren't caught up! Round Two Sons of Light Battle Hoke v. Horse - Roll of 6 (No Hit) Nerwen v. 7. OoC: If you give actions for Jess and Tesni, I'll run it after my next class!
  8. OoC: I find it incredibly rude to ignore other QM's items and the way that battles have been run in the past (especially considering you're a PC, and these battles have been run a specific way for you in the past with no complaint). But I guess there's no way to change that, so that's the one time I'll say it. "Knock them dead," says Boomingham to Nyx as he sits, exhausted, on a barrel doing nothing.
  9. Some people get really good items.
  10. "You clearly do not listen. You are the man who defended the man who slaughtered innocents. Chief Byrne fled the city after you allowed him to keep his head. And yet we led you away so you would not be harmed. Cassandra and Raguel do not wish to harm anyone, only hold the bridge so that Valentino's return will be safe and glorious." Hoke's accusations clearly do not bode well with the Sons.
  11. OoC: How embarrassing, I seem to have confused what transcended does! I thought it doubled your ether... so your ether should be down significantly, but you should have received back the one that you spent! Thank you for pointing it out, even though it lowered your over-all ether count! "Don't listen to her, men! Cassandra and Raguel are still out there! We are only meant to delay them. They are the ones who meant to attack us, we wished to settle this peacefully! We were leading them away from combat, not towards it!" The soldiers stand firm, but Nerwen can see that they are at the very least listening, and listening enough to make Bolivar nervous. Perhaps if her aim and speech continues to be true, she may sway some of them!
  12. Again, seems a fair thing to assume!
  13. If the Gods ignore the past and the way that items are supposed to work and if Boomingham is revived anyway, he will attack the Wolfgang Pyromaniac from the back row.
  14. OoC: I was hoping you'd remember that, Chrome, though I wasn't going to warn you! So kudo's for figuring out the trick, yes, you and Gocklo share a horse and will be unhorsed if either of you loses your horse. I also rather inconsiderately did not add the drops for your foes, they have been added! Round One Sons of Light Battle Hoke throws Water Bomb - Sons A-F lose their horses, 1 Hit on Bolivar's Horse >Nerwen uses Scroll of Blinding on Bolivar - Success (Bolivar is Blinded for 3 turns, -1 ether) >Tesni v. Bolivar - Damage (No Effect, Bolivar is blind) >Benji v. Son E - Special Damage (Benji Unhorsed) >Jess v. Son A - Hit (Roll of 6, No Assassination, Damaged and Poisoned) Gocklo v. Son B - Counter (72-5=67 Damage Dealt, Son B Deadly Poisoned, Nerwen/Gocklo Unhorsed) >Jess v. Son D - Shield (126332: Son A Assassinated, 180 Gold earned) >Tesni v. Son B - Damage (Tesni Unhorsed) Free Hits Bolivar v. Hoke - Blinded, No Effect Son C v. Nerwen - No Damage Son F v. Tesni - No Damage Son B loses 10 health due to poison Nerwen regains one ether! Hoke starts the battle right by lobbing a bomb at the feet of their foe's horses - only Bolivar is able to reign his back quickly enough that it survives, the rest twist their hooves and legs as the watery explosion sprays them. The horses crumble beneath them. Nerwen is quick to blind Bolivar, who swats ineffectively at a few party members with his sword. The rest of the Sons, realizing their danger, drag themselves to their feet and fall upon the enemy. Benji's horse is caught in the chest with a blade and dies instantly, throwing him clear. Gocklo swipes at a foe, but Nerwen brings the horse too close and though the enemies bleeds ferociously he is able to cut out one of the horse's legs, and it too topples, screaming in pain. Jess hops off her horse and stabs her enemy in the throat, twisting her blade, before lightly remounting. Tesni wheels around for another bout, but she too has her horse cut out from under her so that only Jess remains on a beast. "Cowardly tactic for a Lady of the Light!" Bolivar hollers at Nerwen angrily. 15. Flipz, I must commend you for keeping both the Lion Knights story and Wren story alive, even though the storylines themselves have concluded. It's good to hear the whispering ghosts of what we've laid down!
  16. I tried to transition into the fight as quickly as possible, as you indicated you didn't want foreplay ( ) and you were the only one who did anything "aggressive" towards the Sons - again, as characters, they weren't going to attack unless they thought you would! I tried to listen to you guys, and find an excuse to skip the dialogue and go straight to a fight! If someone else had unsheathed their blade, they would be the one on the ground right now. EDIT: Though I do like the take away "Never make your QM mad" as well.
  17. Seems a fair thing to assume!
  18. I have heard your thoughts on that. I know you are trying to prod me to be my best, but I'd like to stop hearing it just the same. I have always allowed people with diplomacy to haggle. You could have, but didn't. That's not on me, that's on you. Heweyrt joined a fight because you asked. He would not have done that if you had not asked diplomatically. The Sons of Light would have attacked you immediately if Nerwen had not spoken so well (and harshly) to Raguel (you were given time to prepare, which you did not use). You chose not to haggle, which is another place it would have worked. Compared to spell casting and fleeing, the trait has had a major affect on the quest. I agree that this should be done more, again thank you for pointing it out! Seriously, it is a good thing to hear and I do think it will help!
  19. The other quests also have long dialogue scenes. Some times their diplomacy fails too. But yes, I agree with you two, I should be more clear how and why diplomacy hasn't or has worked. A shield would count as one hit to each horse! So it would KO all horses save Bolivar's. -You are all (excluding Hoke) hastened until your horse is killed. The first free hit at you will kill your horse. I used the phrase "unhorse" because I didn't want too many dead horses. -All enemies are hastened until you kill their horse. Their horse will be killed when it's counter hits 0. -All hastens will be treated as "permanently hastened" in that tiger balm or neautralizer will not rid the enemies or the heroes of it. Sorry for the confusion, I had to rush out the door this morning but didn't want to leave you all waiting. Your Warrior Seal will be rolled for right now, and I will fix the formatting of the first post along with it!
  20. OoC: I figured that was the case, Pandora, but now I know it's the case. Glad we're on the same page! "I'm trusting you, dearest," says Boomingham with a wink to Ellaria, and then repeats his attack.
  21. Too complicated. Sometimes powers/shields are very useful, sometimes not. It's fine if one quest comes down the line that isn't huge on gold, maybe the next quest will have more enemies that carry gold than is normal.
  22. Hoke observes ten soldiers in addition to Bolivar and Cassandra. I should have been including the rational behind the reasoning. I will do that from now on. Diplomacy has worked and has affected the quest so far, though. It is, in fact, the way this battle came about, if that makes you feel any better. "I think you have the work of the Lord of Light to do somewhere else, Nerwen. Sometimes the best action is missing the action, don't you think?" Bolivar is clearly more loyal to Raguel himself than the Lord of Light. OoC: They have not been instructed to attack you, simply lead you away. I'm sorry if you dislike the story, that's not on me. Not everyone is violent on sight. They're trying to use diplomacy, shouldn't they know why it doesn't work? But, since you want to skip straight to the fighting... Bolivar glances at Hoke, and narrows his eyes. "We were instructed to lead you away from the Bridge. Raguel didn't want you to be harmed. But he told us to use force if needed." With that, Bolivar stabs at Hoke's horse and it crumbles out from below him, whinnying crazily. Cassandra cries out sharply to the horsemen, and four peel away with her, racing back towards the bridge. Benji halts his horse as Hoke falls. He sits on his horse, facing the enemies with the others. Nerwen's seal bursts forth with light, and she feels transcended, inspired, and blessed - perhaps the Lord of Light does not agree with the Sons of Light after all. 23. "Isn't that how most people are? He he he." The horses and their riders, apparently more experienced than the heroes, catch up with them. They have billowing red capes and shiny steel armor. Their leader calls to Hoke. "Hello there!" cries the impossibly mustached man. "We mean no harm, of course, we are here to protect you! My name is Sir Bolivar! I am in charge of the Sons and Daughters of Light." He gestures to the men and women around him. They also all wear confident smiles, but the heroes notice that they have practically encircled them, and they have their hands on their hilts. "We were sent here by Raguel. He was afraid that you may get lost on the way to the bridge." "How did he want us to phrase it, Cassandra?" "If you insist on going to the bridge, it will be in our presence." "I will lead the way!" The heroes have no choice but to follow the Sons and Daughters of Light, as they have been surrounded. The soldiers shepherd them forward on rocky ground, their horses hooves clattering. Gocklo pokes Nerwen in the back again and whispers. "Look at that over there, he he he!" he says with glee, and points behind them. At their back Nerwen can barely, barely, see the river. The horsemen are leading the heroes in the complete wrong direction. What will they do?
  24. The heroes step out of the Temple. The city remains in chaos, but troops are beginning to rally. Heweyrt leads the heroes to a stable. The stableboy lays stabbed. His mouth his open, his eyes are wide. Heweyrt shakes his head sadly. He releases a few horses and the heroes saddle up. Gocklo hops up behind Nerwen and settles in comfortably. Heweyrt looks at the heroes. "Heroes, I will reconnect with you shortly. I want to go have a word with Chief Byrne - tell him that if he is done negotiating, it may be in his best interest to evacuate the city while his head is still attached to his body. Gocklo, look after them. Protect the bridge at all costs. Remember, while I may not think that it's smart to engage David alone, beating him in combat isn't out of the question." The heroes leave the city. The bridge is a short ride, and they make their way in silence. About halfway there, Gocklo pokes Nerwen in the back. "He he he. Sorry to break your concentration. Thought you might be interested to know that we're being followed." Nerwen turns around and sees that they are indeed being followed by a few horsemen.
  25. OoC: Pandora, I hope I'm not spoiling the fun by dictating actions, that's Boomingham's choice, not my own. I can lay off it if it's too bothersome! It's just the way he acts, and I think it's fun to have Nyx sass him. SCUBA, I should have counterstruck! Boomingham spits some blood. "You're around a lot lately." "You need me a lot, lately." Boomingham shakes his head. He turns around towards Nyx, opens his mouth, and then clamps down on it. He opens it again. "Good work, dearest." Boomingham repeats his action.
