I think the fact that it uses ether makes it a spell.

Midge casts light down into the darkness. There is a little tunnel at the end of a short downwards climb. It appears, as Bert said, old - part of the original construction of the house. "I don't know if we have time for exploring," says Bert nervously. OoC: Masked, since the other players are not yet asleep I had to skip that part about the wine - I didn't want to change "when" you asked it, but I also don't want to force the other players to go to sleep.

Chosen Heroes for Quest 107 Ellaria, level 27 2/3 Druid Hybros, level 30.75 Chi Monk Skrall, level 36 Hunter Nyx, level 31 Battle Mage OoC: The quest will start early on the 1st - that is my next day off from work! Sorry for the (short) wait. Do some shopping!
-
Sorry, I meant the "too" in that they were also druggies.

"Seal up the door? How, exactly? I've got..." he ruffles through a little satchel: "A topaz, assuming you want to electrocute the door and shock it into being shut... a ruby, so if you want to burn the door away, but that seems kind of like the opposite of what you're looking for... and this diamond, if you want the door to be really damn bright. It's your call, really, how you want to approach this thing." "I don't know about getting on so well as opposed to being able to stand each other more than others. I get along with the way you don't attack everything we run into, as opposed to some mages we've met," drawls the Pig. Russel taps him sharply with the dull side of the sword. "He's kidding. We like you a lot!"

The ones from 83 are the ones I actually thought of too! They were just arrested. And you're right, CMP, the 69ers are still alive and out there - I liked those guys! They were the first semi-likable face we got on the Wolfgang. I'm just saying, overall a lot of people get murdered over what are sometimes pretty small crimes, while the heroes have run into the Regret lots - he kills cities, and he keeps getting away.

I am really going for the most NPC award for 102. Got to keep them fresh! I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but it's very hard to have a "petty crime" or "thug" character return because generally the heroes murder the hell out of them. Only big bosses live between quests. Petty thieves are very hard to reuse. Can anyone think of anyone except Bors who has minority robbed a house and lived (and now Bors is dead as well)?

Bert and Matthias glance down into the darkness, but they can't see anything. "A mage may be able to seal it up using some magic, but we lost ours..." he lowers his voice: "Maybe we could ask Midge, but I don't know if he's got the right gems on him. But if it really comes to it, maybe if we get enough people to stand on it, we can do something about it." Midge straightens out his armor so it's on right, and tips his helmet so it's sitting snuggly on his head. "I hang out at Inns and get arrested because the fellow patrons start stupid fights they can't finish," says Midge dismissively. "Sorry, that was rude, I'm really a traveling empty wine bottle salesman. See, I drink the wine while I wander around, to ready the product and all, and then I sell it so I can buy another glass of wine. Lucrative business."

"Not on yet-- leaving for soon," mutters Boomingham in an attempt to clarify, but it's too quiet for Nyx to hear. "I'd like to imagine the same - you know, that anyone should be able to be trusted. Any Heroican. But after I took on the Syndicate, well, that went right on out the window." Boomingham shrugs. "That's life, I guess. Onwards and upwards all the same." Boomingham looks at her, tired all of a sudden, his eyelids droopy. "I'm sorry if there was any bad blood in Strivvi. I felt off, and felt you were much the same way. Maybe our different ages - Hel, different eras - catch up to us sometimes." Boomingham picks up his Tome suddenly, still open to where he has notes in the margins. "This is for you, you know, if anything happens to me. At least the good parts. I'm trying to fix it up to be an alright book. Share it with Ellaria and Atramor and Hybros and Mr. Marvelo if you ever find him, and I think Barty would probably still look after you, too, if he could." Barty pops into existence for the blink of an eye and nods empathically before poofing away again.

Or, you know, watch the movie because it's golden.

I absolutely agree. Before everyone was complaining it was too hard, now everyone is complaining about it having been too easy. Just sounds like complaining at that point.

OoC: Hopefully this is right! Chrome, daggers should have been changed to halberds and spears. But that was lost when I retyped everything, I guess. I'll fix it! "Like what? You? I suppose so. You seem properly shaped, I guess." He shrugs. "I don't find elves particularly attractive." "Thanks," says Crowley with a stiff little bow as Nerwen hands him stuff. It seems well practiced, proper somehow. Samuel nods along as Nerwen talks, but his eyes still stay narrowed on Thistlethorp. "I don't trust him," says the Paladin. "For whatever reason, I don't trust him. But I still stand by your side, Nerwen." He lifts the shield. "Thank you for this. Raguel went to help these people. I feel his spirit is with me when I fight with their sword and their shield." Midge turns to Matthias as he rambles about Heroica. "Look, I told you, you don't have to prove anything to me. Just casual observations." Matthias yanks back the trap door. The hinges squeak, and lands with a thud on the dirty ground. Down below is darkness. "Lots of old houses in the city have cellars, but the sewers have cut through some of them. The sewers cut through most of the city." Bert glances down into the darkness. "May want to stop that up, if we can think of a way, just for safety." Matthias glances through the crack in the stones. A quiet back alley is outside. No one is in it.

I've got to agree. Sometimes the world isn't particularly fair or sportsman like. There are haves, and have nots. So be it. We are trying to create events found in the world, and not all events are pleasant.
-
"Why not? They seem to bleed the same as everyone else, and they've got more than enough stuff to loot." Midge shrugs. "I guess you have to draw the line somewhere, just to keep things straight in your head. Kind of arbitrary though, huh? I only don't attack mice and things with horns and young girls with freckles, but hey, that's just my line. If you want your's to be the Watch, so be it, though I don't know why they get the privilege."
-
"Ground too dirty for you?" He sits down. "Is it common for you people to walk into a bar, murder an Orc or two, and then get roped into stopping another murder? No one's batted an eyelash. That elf even stabbed a City Watchman and everyone was fine with it."
-
"And this is how you get ready for combat?" asks Midge, looking at the bedroll. "Should we all be preparing for naps, or only you? Is this a do as I say not as I do sort of situation? Your last leader was hauled off, you think the same's likely to happen to you if this Thistlethorp kicks it?"
-
"I'll be out within a few days, far as I can tell, and I've got to go visit some people before I go - but that being said, I thought I may as well stick around until someone worth drinking with showed up, and, lo and behold, here you are. Your baths and all cost me a good hand in the quest I'm not on." Boomingham opens up his Tome of Affluence and flips to a page where he has a few names scribbled down in the margins. "Do me a favor while we drink. I know you haven't quested much with anyone who's not me and all, but for our brief stints apart--" he checks the list: "do you know Erdacath the druid, or Jeaux who is... an Evoker, I think it says- can't read my damn handwriting-" he glances up at her, "either name ring a bell? Are they any good?"
-
Boomingham ambles over to the bar. "I'll join you," he says with a small smile. "Atramor is already gone, so you'll be needing the company. Barty and I were wondering where you'd got off to."
-
The U'Kin speech pattern has endured. Who knew they'd end up so important. I think WBD was the first person to contact me and tell me he was using one, and that he wanted to get the speech pattern right, and I was like "oh god, they're sticking around".
-
I'd say count it as targeting the enemy, and the damage and special damage are as a normal attack. That seems the easiest - even easier to remember than the current version. And how'd I force you to talk anyway, Flipz.
-
I was going to suggest a similar fix - it really is too risk free right now, and with a tonic or two and auto-rolling, a cleric could down quite a few undead.

Miss Chief of Police the Robot Chief of Police: She loves her cup of Joe in the morning. At attention! "Hi Miss Chief of Police!" "Back to work, Officer Cop." Note: Yes she can stand on her own, but it's a hell of a pain, and she certainly can't stay in a walking pose without support.
-
It's a risk free operation.

I just wrote out a whole reply, and then randomly closed the window. So, round two. Matthias looks around the room. The moonlight from above continues to make things easy to see. What in particular would he like to investigate? "Defense is not my game, Matthias! I'm more of an offense sort of crab!" "Of course," says Morrison. "We are all, like you Heroicans, at different points in our career with the town watch." He lowers his voice: "Though I am not certain of the goodness of our mission. If this man is being hunted, he must know the reason. If he is embarrassed to admit it, it must not be good. I know we must defend him - I am in as much trouble with the Watch as you are, though I followed you I did so of my own free will - but I do not like him." "So you're the lady I'm supposed to take orders from now, huh?" asks Midge, standing next to Alexis. "Don't know if we ever got introduced back in that bar. I'm Midge."

It's been a few years since I've been afforded the time to build with Lego. My collection is at home, I only am a portion of the time. And summer jobs make things tough. But, rambling aside, I'm trying to get back in the game a little. So here's something I whipped up as a preamble. Officer Cop the Robot Cop Officer: Officer Cop pulls long night shifts, because he loves serving the public so much. But if he's on for too long, he'll over heat!! Good thing his inventors installed a handy little thermostat right in his chest! All he has to do is glance down. Officer Cop is (swift?) pursuit of a perp. Officer Cop staying in shape, doing some pushups. That's all she wrote for now. More on the way!
