  1. Boomingham smiles merrily as he enters the room. As is his nightly tradition, he gives Masson a dastardly little wink. He reserves his real smile for Punii, who has, over the three weeks, proven himself to be a good friend. The two hadn't talked much about either of their pasts, but had sat next to each other for more than one meal, and had enjoyed fishing quietly from time to time. Boomingham finds the little fellow to be quite optimistic, and even Barty has taken a quiet, distant affection to him, though he still calls him a "demon". Boomingham can't help but think of Pseudo when he thinks of the little guy - both someone who needs protection, and someone who is willing and ready to protect others. (Hope that's okay... ) Boomingham finds his own cot, uncorks a bottle of brandy and takes out a few glasses he has hidden under his bed. "Night cap, anyone?"
  2. Round Four Assassin Assault Matthias uses a mead on Nerwen Matthias uses a mead on Alexis >Nerwen v. Avery - Meditate/Shield (Guardian Angel) >Alexis v. Avery - Special Damage (Alexis KO'd) Samuel heals Bert - Failure (Roll of 6) Thistlethorp heals Bert - Failure (Roll of 5) >Bert does nothing Midge does nothing >Russel & Pigley v. Avery - Critical Hit ([16*2]+18=50) Russel & Pigley does nothing Alexis leads the charge this round. Avery swiftly side steps her and pushes her onwards, sliding a knife into her back. She slams into a wall and then slumps to the ground. "That is what she gets for trying to interrupt." Avery shrugs. "She's a little rude, don't you think?" Russel is the only one capable of scratching the Assassin, though Nerwen is able to call her angel back. "She's a tough one," says Midge with a determined face. The Enemies Avery the Red Assassin Level 58 Humanoid *Immune to all effects and Instant Kill* Health: 232/860 Special I: Mark of the Red Assassin – Instantly kills target. Passive Special II: Cloak of the Red Assassin – All damage dealt by the Red Assassin has a 1/3 chance of killing the target. Passive Special III: Revenge - Whenever Avery is dealt damage by a hero, she remembers. The hero is given a “mark counter”. When Avery deals damage to a hero, the mark counter is used as a multiplier, but removed. Mark counters stack. Passive Special IV: Swift - There is a 1/X chance that Avery will assassinate (instantly kill) a random member of the party at the end of the round. 3. Boomingham smiles coldly. "Actions speak louder than words, my dearest. I have yet to raise a sword against your husband. I have done him no harm, yet his actions of harm still stand."
  4. "Sounds like a bad chap. I'm sure our resident bad chap and he will get along famously. No worries, though, little fellow. We'll take him down." Boomingham takes a sip from the brandy. "I must say I admire you a Hel of a lot, what with the bad lung and all. If I had a bad lung I'd probably sit around and let other people fight my battles, but here you are! You're a progg, right? I think I ran into some other proggs a year or so back."

Boomingham chuckles. "Good to see you again, Masson. Wasn't afraid you wouldn't be man enough to say hello. So, hello." During the walk to the ship, Boomingham keeps his distance from the purple clad man and his lover. Climbing on board, Boomingham looks around warily. He is not one for boat travel. He listens vaguely to the captain talk about magic and fast ships or something. The ship hurtles into motion, and Boomingham stumbles, looking around, hoping no one saw it. His stomach does a flip and then shortly afterwards starts to rumble. The captain conducts the heroes inside, and Boomingham is all too happy to comply. Inside, the Captain introduces himself, and the cook and the first mate do the same. "I'm Lord Lawrence Boomingham, Lord of the Lost Kingdom-" Boomingham's stomach growls- "and some other stuff. I've got a whole long list of titles. I'll tell you them later. Anyway, it's a pleasure: Bruce, Steven. I'm an ex-army man myself. Best thing you can do: protect other people. As for booze, I'll have whatever you've got strongest and I'll bet you I can drink you under a rug." Boomingham's mind feels all fuzzy from the quick speed and angry tummy and his words don't quite fit together. He licks his lips. Boomingham laughs heartily. "That's the way it is, isn't it? Hel, I want some of these chaps dead already and I don't even know what sort of demon we're after." Boomingham glances at the little wheezing figure. "You alright, little fellow?" He turns to the others. "Is that what we're after? Treasure? All the Sand Queen said was that we're after some chap with a long list of miserable titles, and no one has really bothered to fill me in. Is this Regret a man we should be worried about? You all seem an awful lot more in the know than I do."
  6. Both at home and at school, weekends are indeed my busy time! At school I'm on student film shoots, which a) more fun that work and b) like 14 hours a day instead of 9. So a give and take. EDIT: Responding to stuff en masse kind of sucks.
  7. Now imagine you're a part of it! As always on the weekends, guys, I just got off a nine hour shift of scooping ice cream, so updates are a-coming, but give me an hour or two.
  8. I can't speak to those gloves in particular, but in all other cases "power bonus" is added to level, which means that yes it is affected by encouraged and elemental modifiers.
  9. I personally think the mirrors make it even more impressive! This is awesome, congrats on a beautiful set.
  10. OoC: Next round will indeed be the fourth, my apologies.
  11. Boomingham catches Masson's eye and winks mischievously! OoC:
  12. "No one is sinless, so I protect no one."
  13. "I don't know, why are you here? Because we all got to do something, right?" Heweyrt grins. "Sorry, sorry, yes, that's a good question. Doc Daneeka and I are pals, that's all. Recent pals. I'm a bit of a traveller myself - see, that's one of the things I do to occupy my time before I kick the bucket, just like you and being a hero - and I heard of some great Doc down in Eubric who built fancy stuff. Next thing you know, I'm on a boat heading to Eubric and finding that Doc. Doc Daneeka, to be clear. Turns out we've both got a bit of a passion for finding out information from the past and applying it to the future! Anyway, I've got a bit of gold to toss around, so I told him we could go splitsies on the cost of the venture. So that's why I'm here." "I am glad to hear they are in good health. I left the Ji Pei to serve Guffington, but I still have great love for them in my hearts. As for my expectations; I have none. That is the great joy of it. We are certain to find something we did not know before." The Doc seems totally unaware of the Imp's fumbling speech. "Please, the pleasure is all mine!" exclaims Heweyrt, making a sweeping bow. It is not clear if he is mocking her or not. "Though I'm not sure how you can know it's a pleasure to meet me, seeing how little you know about me! I hope I don't force your foot into your mouth." "It is good you do not fear demons, Nyx. But I do not suspect that is what these creatures truly are. I do not believe that most creatures are forces of evil. I have not even come to the absolute conclusion that demons of Zoot are evil by nature." "All we know of these creatures is that Paladins called them demons, and they no longer exist. History has a way of perverting the truth. Suppose that, after the Orcish Wars, the humans had stood strong. They swept Baltarok. No Orcs lived. They tell their children they killed monsters called Orcs. Their children tell their children their parents killed monsters, no last name. Their children tell their children monsters once roamed Olegaia. And so on. The Orcs are not monsters, and worse, their secrets would be lost. Their language would be lost. Time sor-sty erin. If the Vikings had eradicated the Norns, the artifact keeping you alive at your worst times would be lost. Do not judge the past on the present. Doc turns to Skrall. "That is exactly what this is, Skrall. And to begin, we will need a drill. I have built that. What I require is a power source. The Ji Pei have generously agreed to donate one to me, but I will need you heroes to collect it. You know the streets of Eubric are dangerous. Heweyrt believes that there are those who may move against this. The past is not a friend to all. Some have secrets buried there they'd rather left untouched."
  14. Yeah, but I also like meeting an NPC who likes me once in a blue moon. I just got off a Scuba quest, where every NPC looks down on you or hates your guts, and now it turns out that the Sand Queen doesn't like him and Masson and he haven't patched up their relationship yet. Strange, considering their last correspondence.
  15. OoC: Matthias' additional 32 damage dealt from last round has been added this round. Also, just realized that Midge never had an ether count... whoops! "I have no delusions about what I do. I kill, and then someone pays me. But few people ask someone without blame to be killed. Like you said, the sinless need no protection." Avery smiles cooly. "So we are left only with those who have sinned. You may strike them down, or protect them - those are your two choices once we remove the sinless from the equation. I have chosen to strike them down, you to protect them. So be it. I can live with my choices - can you live with yours?" She turns to the gnome. "I have no claims. I cannot reveal who sent me for this man, or I will die. You cannot survive this encounter, or I will die. But I cannot attack you with that angel around, so I may as well occupy my time until then with something, no? I do not hate everyone that I kill. I like quite a few of them, and so I talk to them. You'd be surprised the honesty and insight some people gain so close to death. I would hate for that to go to waste." Round Two Assassin Assault Nerwen v. Avery - Damage/Critical Hit (14*2+29=57) Alexis v. Avery - Hit ([20+45]*2=130) Midge v. Avery - Shield (34 Damage dealt twice, -1 ether) Samuel - Hit (25 Damage) Matthias - Aim (3*2=6) Matthias - Damage Bert - Special Damage Thistlethorp - Failure Russel & Pigley - Damage Russel & Pigley - Miss Nerwen and Alexis corner the Assassin, and give her a good slash and whack before she vaults over their heads. Midge slashes as her, catching her leg and opening a small cut that is hard to see bleed, what with her wearing all red and all. Samuel also takes a swing at her, which she catches on her dagger, though her arm seems jarred by it. A shot by Matthias skims her ponytail. Avery throws a dagger through the angel, which disappears. She smiles covertly. "My turn now." 16. Also, just to be clear, Boomingham honestly was just trying to shake the Sand Queen's hand and ask her a question or two about the organization he's been a part of for so long.
  17. I spell it with one L in world because Helvetia only has one L, so I imagine Hel would be called that. Also, Hel is cold in this world, so I'd never refer to the "fires of Hel" but rather the "icicles of Hel" (or something like that ). It's just some fun lore I like, I don't mind if no one else does it. Different cultures may have different sayings/beliefs, so I always just chalk any inaccuracies up to that!
  18. "All I asked for was a drink and a handshake, not some transparency or change of code. I'd bet you ten gold pieces Copper Fox would have a drink with me." Boomingham shrugs again, and then grins, and then laughs. He dismisses the whole affair with a wave of his big hand. "I'm just razzing you. Don't worry so much, my Queen. I'll still fight battles for you. What else is a King supposed to do?"
  19. Boomingham shrugs. "Hel, serve an organization long enough you'd think the higher ups would be happy to see you. When I served in the Orcish wars I only ran into another general once - usually got messages by messenger - sorry, one other general who outranked me, ran into loads of little generals like me - anyway, he threw an all out feast for me, shook my hand, thanked me for my efforts - shook my hand, don't know if you caught that part-" Boomingham still holds his hand out- "and wished me luck. But Hel, what do I know? Worlds changed a lot in two hundred something years. Hospitality just isn't what it was."
  20. Boomingham laughs and winks. "Alright, Madam Sand Queen, you've got it. I'll stay right on task, and we'll talk over drinks when I return successfully, huh? Anyway, I'm ready to go whenever everyone else is. Onwards and upwards and all that."
  21. Boomingham smiles quietly to himself as the automaton responds to Masson. Boomingham himself simply doesn't look at the man or his lover. "The tree lady has my vote too," says Boomingham, beaming at her. "Lord Lawrence Boomingham, by the way. Have we met? I'm not such a hot shot when it comes to that sort of stuff." "A monster who brainwashes his followers into servitude? Yes, I know the time. I understand why you've picked the party you've picked. We're well experienced with it - more some than others, I'm sure." Boomingham offers his hand to the Sand Queen. "I don't believe we've met, but you probably know who I am with visions and all. Lord Lawrence Boomingham, leader of quite a few quests for Heroica. I don't know if I've met any of the Veterans other that Copper Fox, and that was only once. Do you keep eyes on us, or is this your first time even hearing of my charms?"
  22. It's not like Sandy forced Duvors to separate from the group. Then I'd shout "unfair". Duvors has made his own choices. His role-play doesn't bother me, but to balance that out, the QM's response doesn't bother me either. Also, damn it 105! I just went to work! That was it. Two pages. Hopefully the quest slows down a little so I get a chance to actually play.
  23. Boomingham ambles forward from the bar and stands rather silently at the edge of the group. He eyes his companions carefully. OoC: I have to leave for work, but my stats are outdated, it looks like I forgot to update them post 96. Sorry. I will fix them up in a few hours (when I get off of work... so like 9 or 10 hours). Or you can just copy them from 96, add 750 gold and take away my shard.
  24. Boomingham raises an eyebrow at the strange man, but smiles quietly. "You looked well, Docken. And with such a glittery shield. I can guess what you're after."
