This is unbelievable... Is there not a trace of honor left in this camp? Either the deserters have the devil's luck or there's something very fishy going on... What if there are no deserters at all? What if we all are honored soldiers, but paranoia and suspicion has overcome us? Could something like that be in effect, as incredulous as it sounds?

Why does she need to die? Samantha has quite a lot of use for the rebels as she can provide intel about the company, so you can freely use her as you wish (well, keeping your hands to yourself, of course).

I'm just going to be up and forward with you guys and say that I'm not going to participate in this anymore. It just wasn't what I expected, sorry. The start was fun, but then it just went too much into a direction that isn't for me. I apologize again.

I went to see this movie on Saturday, and it was quite okay. The last third of it kind of spoiled the whole idea by turning a "dreamquest" into a clichéd battle of good and evil. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat played by Stephen Fry were definitely the best characters in the whole movie. The girl playing Alice was nice enough, if a bit dull for such an anarchistic female role. So yeah, the film was full of great actors and the quality of the computer generated backgrounds were stunning, but something felt missing. It just wasn't crazy enough, even with all the crazy characters in it.

It was indeed Pvt. Perot that contacted me yesterday, but I can't help feeling duped by him when he didn't vote according to his own investigations. I don't know what he's up today, but I've got people I trust far more telling me he's wrong, so I'll rather believe them. Ian Des has been on my list of suspicious people from the beginning of the game, while Mr. Reutal has been nothing but supportive to our cause. That's why I vote: Provost Guard Ian Des (iamded).

Like I said, I don't want to be the person telling everyone who to trust anymore. It's just too much responsibility for me...
-
Oh, at least there's good news this morning. I was half expecting that the deserters would've overwhelmed us by now, since we failed to convict anyone yesterday. I don't think I'm the person who should be calling the shots on who to vote today. I feel like I've been lead on so many directions that I really don't know which way is the right way anymore. This would've been so much easier if we'd know if Pvt. Retaul is a deserter or not by now, but now I really just don't know...

What a clever technique! Too bad the wardrobe itself isn't really minifig-scale... But instead of a wardrobe, this technique could be put to use in actual sliding doors, like the ones leading to a garden or a patio in contemporary houses. Now that I think about it, I think I've seen sliding doors made with a different technique in some MOC or real set...

I've been trying to make sense of this all ever since the investigator contacted me. I am aware of the risks, but in this situation we're in, we have to take risks. Anyway, to ease my decision, the investigator sent me descriptions of exactly what he found out about Sgt. Hemphill and Pvt. Retaul. It really looks like he had a streak of luck in his investigations. He says that Hemphill had a letter in his backpack that told of his wife's severe illness, and another letter confirming that he is indeed a deserter. Retaul, on the other hand, had a blood-stained rag and a knife in his pack, and a letter ordering him to kill everyone before he could desert. From this fact, and the fact that Retaul has a moustache, I will have to stand down from my case against Pvt. Gale and Mr. Dalese, and vote: Pvt. Retaul (Dragonator). People, if he indeed is the night-time killer, we will get a huge victory tonight. If he is innocent, you will know that the supposed investigator has fed me lies, and you are free to vote me out as well for being a naive puppet controlled by the deserters. I will make sure that the name of the false investigator will be revealed to you in that case. We have to do this today to find out the truth. Vote with me.
-
Then why didn't you report your findings when the day started? Why didn't Dalese report his findings either? Why did both of you wait until you got accused several before reporting them? And why the darnation are there so many investigators around? I'm sorry, but it just doesn't make sense to me.
-
I already told why, but let's recap. At the start of the day, several people pointed him out for being awfully silent yesterday, and immediately after that (not before, note), he came up with the moustache-theory. And right after that, this theory was supported by Mr. Dalese, who didn't tell about his sightings earlier, either. If this doesn't smell like conspiracy to you, then you better check your nose. Because I clearly stated that I don't believe his moustache-theory. Not long after my post, the supposed investigator contacted me with the information I passed on you. It might be just a coincidence, but it can also be an attempt to direct attention away from Pvt. Gale. I don't understand. The supposed investigator specifically told me to pass the info he gave me to the game topic. That could also be seen as an attempt to frame me, if the info is wrong. I assure you all, I have no actions at night and no investigatory powers myself. If push comes to shove, I will reveal the name of the person who contacted me, but right now I'd rather not risk his life for little gain. It looks like we have to test his theory by voting out either Sgt. Hemphill or Pvt. Reutal, but my intuitition is still saying we should go with Pvt. Gale. I think I just have to wait and see in which direction people's opinions go.
-
Please, I don't even want to think about that option! My head hurts enough as it is!
-
Sgt. Hemphill's "revelation" puts him at odds with the person who contacted me earlier. I can be quite sure that one of the two is an investigator and the other is a deserter, but the problem is, which one is which? Gathering the bits of information that have leaked to me earlier, I can group a few people with both of Hemphill and the anonymous investigator (I don't want to reveal his identity yet, so that he doesn't think I am a deserter). I have passed on my lists to another person in case I'm killed off next night, but anyway, I believe I am close to solving who the deserters are, I just have two options. I was determined to vote for Pvt. Gale today (can we vote already, by the way?), but now it seems we have to get a solution to this problem first. If Pvt. Gale is a deserter, he would most likely be working with the person who contacted me, since the message could've been meant as a diversion to me (because I openly accused him today). I'm just not sure why I was contacted in that case, but it's probably because I'm such a blabbermouth. I don't know yet which way I should go, but I do know that today we can finally turn this cruel game of life against the deserters.

A very pretty minifig indeed, it's a shame they only made it a keychain. I'd love to see a fairy like that in the collectable minifigs line, for example. But we've already seen the new princess, and she's wearing a white-and-red dress, which suits her faction perfectly. Pink wasn't exactly in fashion during the middle ages, anyway.
-
Just to add a few more theories into the mix, I was contacted privately by a person claiming to be an investigator. Now, you don't have to believe what I say, since I can't say if I totally trust it myself, but it's worth taking into consideration. This person is after all the only investigator I myself know of, unless Mr. Gale or Mr. Dalese claim they have the power to investigate. Anyway, the investigator said that on Night 1, he investigated Sergeant Stanely Hemphill (Stash2sixx) and found him a deserter. On Night 2, he investigated Pvt. David Reutal (Dragonator) and discovered that he, too, is a deserter. We could always test this investigator's words, but the problem is that neither of these two have done anything to rouse suspicions before this. So we have to decide if the true investigator has finally spoken, or if this is an elaborate deserter plot made to confuse us further.
-
I have to say that I really don't buy this "moustachio" theory at face value. You could be telling the truth, Mr. Gale, but on the other hand you are under heavy suspicion today, so you could be just making this up to save your hind. Your lackluster attitude towards death is also unnerving. This would also put Mr. Dalese under suspicion for backing you up so suddenly and adamantly. Do we really have this many vigilant soldiers up at night, conveniently seeing the suspect's moustache? I find that hard to believe... I do wonder, if you were this observant last night, Mr. Gale and Mr. Dalese, then what did you see in Night 1?

Poor Lieutenant! I am thoroughly glad that he survived, even though he cannot be here with us to lift up our morales anymore. He was such an inspiring man, and a great ally. We had many private discussions, I won't deny it, and we shared a mutual trust. We must not make anymore mistakes like the one we did yesterday. It was unfortunate that we had no way of knowing if we could trust Pvt. Gale or not, but at least we avoided the dire consequences mentioned by the Provost General. I will now carefully consider everything the lieutenant said to me yesterday, for I believe he was close to finding out who are the deserters behind all this. Needless to say, I am still highly suspicious of Wilson Gale, who remained very silent throughout yesterday, when his brother was condemned.
-
But the lieutenant already withdrew his vote for Alain. Well, I have no idea if this is right or wrong, but just to vote somebody in order to avert the consequences of not getting a condemnation, I will vote: Pvt. Dan Gale (def).

Gentlemen, I am quite convinced now that we are barking at the wrong tree, all of us. Under the light of what I have been told in private, I have faith that neither Lt. Pellcan nor Pvt. Entaine are deserters, but honourable soldiers working hard to reveal the scumbags amongst us. I didn't have much trust in them before, but now I see that without trust, we can never win. I might get fooled and backstabbed along the way, but right now I feel like the real deserters are getting away with murder under the cover of this chaotic situation. It might seem to some that I am now defending fellow deserters, but that is not the case by any means. A true deserter would not be this open in public. I am taking a calculated risk in defending the two, and I hope you can find at least some trust in me in your hearts as not to vote for either of them, but someone else. Alas, the day is drawing to a close, and if we don't condemn anyone, there will be consequences like the Provost General said. So we need to act now.
-
I'm sorry, Mr. Entaine, but what are you talking about? Are you sure Ltn. Pellcan wasn't trying to warn you about not revealing your night actions in public rather than threatening you about them? Wouldn't a real deserter want you to reveal your actions in the public so they can take you out, rather than warn you from exposing them? Do you honestly want to discuss your night actions in public rather than in private? And if you think Ltn. Pellcan is the only one playing this game of life in the private, then you are horribly mistaken. I just can't understand the point of what you're saying, really. I somewhat trust Ltn. Pellcan because he's been nothing but open and straightforward with us. He's been the only one who has continuously tried to find reason amidst all these accusations and rebuttals.
-
Haha, thanks for the deep analysis about me, Mr. Shadón. I know why you are defending Mr. Entaine, but you fail to see that I haven't really gotten many options to choose from. Two other people voted for Etaine, so I went with them. That's all I've got against him. I strongly feel we must vote someone out, but whatever name I write down, there's always going to be resistance. "No, it's not me, I'm innocent, you're making a mistake!" etc. Should I just bend under every objection, never trusting my intuitition - my only weapon? For now, I will unvote: Alain Entaine (Alice), but that doesn't mean I trust his innocence. I just don't want to take the chance with him. So... who's next?
-
Don't be absurd. I'm in this brigade because I have nothing to lose. If I wanted to desert, I would have a reason for it, wouldn't I? And my votes may not prove my innocence, but they certainly prove that I'm not part of an organized group. I will gladly draw in attention because, again, I have nothing to hide. I never said I didn't want to vote anybody out, on the contrary I stated that I will gladly help to dig out the deserters. When nobody came up with any suggestions to vote for, I just said that we should sleep over the night since we would be a bit wiser in the morning. Trust me, if someone would have voiced their suspicions yesterday and started voting, I would've most likely voted with them. It may be rash, and the results may prove wrong, but I always prefer action over inaction - especially in a dire situation like this. So while the rest of you may cower and pee your pants in fear, I refuse to just sit around and do nothing while we are taken out one by one by the deserters!
-
I wouldn't be so quick to judge all of us as deserters. I for one am motivated to get someone voted out, since it's the only thing I can do in this game of life to get rid of the low-lifes infesting our brigade. Like I said, at this point, we have to make a shot in the dark. Unless you are willing to prove why you are so valuable to us, I can't really think of a better person to vote out than you. Ask yourself: would the deserters really be so openly organized? If I were a deserter, I would try to lay low as long as possible, and only vote with the majority. Today, I was the one who started voting, for someone who nobody else even suspected, even. I have nothing to hide, and nothing to lose. So I apologize, but right now the one getting "shot in the dark" is you. The votes could turn to me today or tomorrow, but that's the way of this game of life.

I have read books that had similar problems as we are facing now depicted them. They were called "Infection" and "Prohibition", I recall. In both books, the group with traitors in them declined on voting each other out during the days, leading to an easy and quick victory for the traitors. Inaction is much more detrimental to our cause than voting one person out, because we can't effectively prevent the killings from happening at nights.
