  1. I find the rising defending of Pvt. Entaine much more suspicious than the accusations. The fact remains that we have to vote someone out today, or face the more grave consequences. I will gladly go with the first option. At this point, aside from myself I cannot tell if any of you are honourable or deserters, so I'd rather take a risk with you than myself. Thus, I unvote: Pvt. Wilson Gale (Whitefang), and subsequently vote: Pvt. Alan Entaine (Alice).
  2. These pictures were shown before, and we have come to the conclusion that the Desert Attack set that Hamley's shows is NOT the final one, but some sort of preliminary version. It could also be different from Hassassins' Hideout (the one with the horse), but since they both have the same number, that's unlikely. So what you see is not what you'll get, in this case.
  3. Wohoo, a Brokeback Mountain theme! Jokes aside, I don't think there even exists a Western movie or other license that would make a suitable LEGO theme. We AFOLs still need to remember that LEGO themes are aimed at children, not adults. On the other hand, we are getting a few Western-related sets from the Toy Story theme, so you'll get plenty of new pieces for your much-sought-after theme from those. I definitely think there's a good chance we'll see the return of Wild West in LEGO, but if that happens, it'll be an unlicensed theme for sure.
  4. Heh, you must've meant watermill. It's a nice little landscape, but you should definitely work on the details some more. Now it all looks a bit "thrown together". It's obvious that you're building with a limited resource of pieces, so it can be tough to get a clear and concise MOC, I know. Keep it up!
  5. Oh my gawd, that's so romantic! He must've gone through tons of trouble to make those unique sets, and it's awesome that the woman in question is someone who can appreciate that. A beautiful story of LEGO bringing two people together. Aww....
  6. Not a typo, just common variety in English language. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/customization There are plenty of similar words like that, like defense/defence. Usually the differences are regional (like US/UK).
  7. With all do respect, Monsieur Oult, isn't it obvious that pointing a finger at someone is a great way of directing, not averting, suspicion to oneself? I know I am honorable, and thus I was not afraid to cast the first stone, whether it hit the target or not. Surely a deserter wouldn't go about so brashly, would he? I also want to know, if finger-pointing is excluded, then how the heck do you suggest we find the killer? I don't see a line of people wanting to tell what they know, and I don't think we'll see such a line for quite a few days to come. Unfortunately, at this point we just have to make a shot in the dark, or otherwise suffer the consequences of the deserters killing us one by one.
  8. I think Cutlass meant for us FFOLs to have a pink star instead of a green star next to the FELLOW-word.
  9. Privateer Gale, you say you're surprised the deserters targeted the captain? To me that sounds like you're trying to divert attention from yourself, since wouldn't the deserters want our regiment to fall into chaos without leaders, so they could safely abandon their duty? Thus, I vote: Pvt. Wilson Gale (Whitefang).
  10. Curses! Of course the deserters hit the higher-ups first! So, has anyone got any idea on who might have done it? With a bunch of uniform-clad clones that we are, we need every hint we can get to identify the culprits.
  11. Hey, what about us girls who didn't need a man to convert them? I haven't been able to get my boyfriend excited about LEGO, even though he had much more of them in his childhood than I did (sadly they were all stolen from their basement when he was a teenager). But he still greatly admires my MOCs, especially the Harry Potter -themed ones (since he's a huge HP-fan, an admin to a fansite and all). So yeah, to me this is still a very solitary hobby. None of my friends really know about it either, just the closest relatives.
  12. Just like the Robin Hood collectable minifig, the theorized new Forestmen could be colored green and tan, for example, to differentiate them from the Dragon Knights.
  13. A lovely tutorial, indeed! I also use only pure LEGO parts for my fig customization, but I'm not afraid to mix'n'match to my liking. I sort my pieces a little differently, but then again, I have less pieces than you. I have all my torsos in a different bin, and the other minifig parts sorted in one of those "screws & bolts" containers (don't know what they're called, really). I separate hairpieces, castle-themed hats, pirate-themed hats, historical helmets, adventurers-themed hats and modern/futuristic headgear from each other. One slot includes all the shoulder-pieces (except cloth capes). Then there's the legs: slope dresses, colorful legs, grey legs, black&white legs and short legs. I've separated all yellow female heads, beardless heads, bearded heads and heads with glasses from fleshie heads and heads of other color. Finally there's slots for skeleton and ghost bodies. But that's just me. Btw, one thing you forgot to mention, Peppy, was the basic technique of using most torsos for both yellow and fleshie heads just by switching the hands or arms. That's especially useful if you don't want to mix yellows and fleshies, but still grave for more variety.
  14. It's actually quite funny that we only have two Grand Dukes in this forum - all the others with that many posts are either fellows or staff. Then again, it's only natural that people who contribute so much to these forums are rewarded with Fellowship - don't know why it hasn't happened to Big Cam or prateek yet, though.
  15. Oh wow, these are great! Very atmospheric and moody, almost scary... I love how the light reflects off the surfaces, creating this "play of light and shadows" kind of feeling to these vignettes. It's great that you didn't just do a monochromatic vignette with random black pieces, but actually put thought and a hint of story into them.
  16. I've got most of it planned already, but there's still a few games before my turn, so I'm expecting to host it by late summer at the earliest. Thanks for asking, though!
  17. This set is absolutely gorgeous even by today's standards, and it includes a plethora of rare and exclusive pieces. It has been on my most wanted sets lists ever since my childhood, but unfortunately it's hard to come by at a reasonable price. Just curious, how much did you have to pay for the MISB version, ZO6?
  18. Yes, you better get out that crystal ball of yours, Cop Mike!
  19. This is a very nice little MOC, and it's great to see you continuing the Unseen University series. However, knowing the undescribably filthy condition of the river, I think you should portray that more in your MOC as well. Instead of making it simply blue with a few bubbles, why not add slabs of sand green and sand blue, some vegetation and a dead fish or two?
  20. I'm sorry to say that the next chapter doesn't quite make it to the February deadline, since this has been quite a busy month for me. However, I've already built the MOCs for the next chapter and I've got a week-long vacation next week, so you'll definitely get it then. Thanks for the support you've shown me both in these topics and through PMs, they're wholly appreciated!
  21. Thanks for the suggestions, but nothing I've done so far has helped with the problem. Sometimes my posts go through normally, but mostly I still have to go back and click the "Add Reply" button again. I'll try another browser tomorrow, to see if that helps.
  22. Heh, at first I thought you were asking for instructions on how to browse Eurobricks! Who uses a plural like "fora" anyway? This isn't latin we're speaking here. Anyways, I mainly browse the forums that interest me. Now and then I peek into other sections, but usually there's nothing of interest in them for me.
  23. I don't want to sound eager to go to sleep, since I'm quite certain that the lousy deserters do their dirty work at the darkness of night, but I don't think any amount of chit-chat will get us closer to solving the murder of our poor fellow camarade. So why don't we just head to our tents already?
  24. We've known about the April release since last year, so it hasn't been speculation for a long time. Also, your question was answered just in the last page; there are no set dates for LEGO releases, just approximate months. It depends on the individual stores when exactly they will put the products on their selves, so you just have to keep looking when April comes.
  25. I just have to ask, why do you want to host a game that's based purely on writing if you can't even write properly yourself? Just wondering...
