    City 2010

I had little idea there was going to be an appartment building included in this years sets! How cool is that! It's definitely in my "must buy"-list, along with all the Harry Potter, PoP and Kingdoms sets. Oh boy I'm going to be so poor this year!
  2. Like I said, I first noticed it yesterday, but I wasn't able to get here much during the weekend, so the problem could've appeared then already. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to hope it passes...
  3. Hi! I noticed a worrying phenomenon yesterday and today that not all of my posts here go through. I click "Reply" normally and type in the post, but when I click "Add Reply", it jumps to the frontpage and not to the thread I've replied into. I then have to go back to my post and click the button again for it to go through. I'm not sure if it does this every time I try to reply, though, but it has happened at least four times already. This hasn't happened in any of the other forums I go to, though. I upgraded my Mozilla Firefox to a new version a few days ago, so it could be because of that, but has anybody else encountered this problem here? Can I do anything to fix it, maybe? I appreciate any help you can give me, because it's quite annoying to have to go through such a hassle just to get a post through. Thanks in advance! Edit: it happened again as I tried to post this topic for the first time.
  4. Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. As for the video, it sure was nice, but not very informative. As you've probably already noticed yourself, you can get a whole lot more info through with much less effort with just text and pictures. So while I encourage you to keep doing these short videoclips from time to time, don't let them keep you from performing your duties as a host.
  5. That was my initial thought as well! That is one great book-series, and aside from the "town-eating function", this mobile city is very similar to the ones in the books. But that doesn't take away from the awesomeness of this MOC. It's pure WIN, and I'm sure AFOLs everywhere are building their own "cities-on-wheels" right about now. I've built a "fortress-on-wheels" before, but a whole city... I don't know if I have enough pieces for that!
  6. Alas, the treachery amidst us has cost a life of a honoured soldier, and I will have none of that! We must dig out the vermin amongst us and exterminate them. You can count on me to keep my eyes and ears wide open around the camp.
  7. Uh, you can go ahead and call me simple, but why would we randomly execute people for the possibility of them becoming deserters? It just goes against my sense of justice to condemn people for something they haven't even done yet. Now, if we were talking about traitors who would start to kill us Honored ones, then I'll consent to their execution with my full heart.
  8. I sincerely hope you can pull this off, ImpScouts, you had such great and ambitious ideas for this game. I'm cheering for you, eager to get to play!
  9. Nope, you remember wrong. Horace Slughorn came to Hogwarts to teach Potions when Snape was transferred to teach DADA. Anyway, these figs are quite well done, and certainly match their counterparts from the films. I must say that especially Madam Pomfrey is spot-on.
  10. Nice catch! Or if he's smart, he'll sell them so he can buy more of the "good stuff".
  11. But it's supposed to be a mess, it's the Burrows! The house is built haphazardly in phases, and it really symbolizes the quirkiness of the Weasley family that lives in it. The set is absolutely perfect. The amount of interior added to it is astonishing.
  12. Sorry, I can't really find the words to describe my enjoyment over these sets. I just love them all! They already have made other sets to attach to this one: the older Hogwarts. Why would you need them to make another clock tower or greenhouse when you can get them from the old sets? Guys, please be reasonable with your demands and thankful for what you've already been given. You can't seriously expect TLG to produce every character or building in the whole series, can you?
  13. I was just clicking my way through Brickshelf, and found these pictures of new educational LEGO sets for 2010 with a city-theme, and thought of posting them here for your enjoyment. The use of the new torsos and hairpieces and fresh, modern colors in the buildings are what makes these sets extra appealing at least to me. Too bad these aren't really sold to private people. Maybe I'll found a foster care home (I actually could, with my social care degree) just to get an excuse to buy these sets.
  14. Wohoo, Luna! She's my all-time favorite HP-character, so I'm really psyched. Although, with the exception of the school uniform, I can already make a perfect Luna minifig from the blonde Willie Scott's hairpiece in the Temple of Doom set and the old Marion Ravenwood head from the Lost Tomb set.
  15. It's not speculation.
  16. Samantha sat on the bed of Kiara's tiny one-room appartment, and looked around. There wasn't much stuff there, as it seemed the other woman used the room mainly for sleeping. "You should get some rest now, you've had quite a day behind you for a civilian", Kiara said. There was a hint of compassion in her voice, although Samantha was still unsure if she could call her a friend yet. At least the R.A.T. had saved her life on several occasions today and taken her to her appartment for the night. "Yeah... It was a close call with Mr. Charon in the sewers. Glad we got away, though. Thanks... for everything", Samantha said with a sigh. "No prob. Grab whatever you can find from the fridge if you're hungry. I'll go out for a while, so don't leave this room until I get back." Having said that, Kiara left. Samantha was left alone with thoughts spinning around in her head wildly. She laid back on the bed. It wasn't very comfortable, but it would do. She knew that tomorrow, after she would give the hackers entrance to the Solar-Coms top secret computer systems, this would all end for her. She would return to the safety of Australia and keep her fingers crossed that the R.A.T.s could deal with Borgiss and his maniacal plans. "This isn't my war", she muttered as she closed her eyes. But deep inside her she knew she was only fooling herself. In no time, Samantha's fears and worries gave in to exhaustion, and she was fast asleep.
  17. Guys, I really don't know what is going on in the game anymore. I'd really like to post, but I don't know what the situation is anymore. Can you please be more elaborate on your posts, and remember that this is group writing we are doing here? You might have a clear image of what is happening to your character, but if you don't explain it properly (like leaving out notions of who is talking), nobody else will know what has happened. Edit: Well, I went ahead and posted anyways. This story holds too much potential to let it go, at least for me.
  18. *Coughs* Factions, not fractions! Anyway, what are you talking about? Now you can mix up your trolls and dwarves with the new human factions all you want! The old sets you've bought don't just magically vanish into the air, do they?
  19. Well, the Rock Raider woman (Jet) is technically a blonde, since she has light yellow fringe printed on her head. There were also several white-fringed male heads before 1999, but you are right that the first tan hairpieces were produced then. Ahem, what about the Nordic kingdoms? Have you forgotten the lands where blonde haircolor originates?
  20. There are actually zero Castle-related female minifigs who are blonde - all of them have either blackor brown hair, with the exception of Princess Storm who's a redhead. Very few of the female minifigs in general are blonde (I know, since I've listed them all). The new Kingdoms Advent Calendar looks very interesting indeed. It seems to be a nod to all those who did not get the MMV, since it includes two of the many exclusive figs from that set. I'm pretty sure the blue wizard is meant as an opponent to the green wizard, but I wonder why they didn't follow the faction colors with him and make him red instead? Would've made him look more festive, even. But the pic is just a preliminary piece of art, so it can change greatly before the release.
  21. I was actually planning to do a whole new topic for Queens' Quest. But you'll have to wait for it a bit, if you don't mind.
  22. Sorry, computerbug, but it looks like we've hit into a minor deadlock. Care to give the story a little direction so we can move on? For example, where do you want us to go? Also, I don't see how all of us can form a single group, since there's such variety of motivations among the characters. But certainly those who actually oppose the Solar-Com could come together...
  23. I don't think so. The singer's hair curls at the bottom, while Ginny has straight hair. It's a gorgeous hairpiece, nevertheless.
  24. OMG, Ursula is my favorite Disney villain of all time! And your minifig interpretation is absolutely gorgeous! Great job, especially with the face, but also with "the body language".
  25. Again, the smallest set (aside from the impulses) includes a soldier from both factions plus gear. Isn't that the perfect army building set?
