  1. They're the same horns that the LEGO cows have, so they're nothing new. They do look good on a viking helmet, though. It's the first thing I did with them when I got them. Oh, and please stop assuming collectable minifigs as hints for future themes. Because they're not. TLG have reused some of the parts introduced in the CM series in later themes, but that's all.
  2. Now I want to live to year 3000, if we really develop elf ears by then. Only 989 years to go!
  3. Ohemgee, a Minotaur, a Genie, and a Leprechaun! This future series is a fantasy-fan's dream, I must say! And we even get a Highlander Warrior and the popstar hair in blonde. I'm totally loving the gothic skateboarder chick too. So many new pieces and new colors... So far, Series 6 seems to include (correct me if I'm wrong): 1. Alien (with ray gun) 2. Statue of Liberty (with torch and tablet) 3. Highlander Warrior (with claymore and shield) 4. Leprechaun (with pot) 5. Butcher (with cleaver and meat) 6. Mechanic (with toolbox and wrench) 7. Female Skateboarder (with skateboard) 8. Genie (with magic lamp) 9. Minotaur (with axe) 10. Spacewoman (with ray gun)
  4. Oh, Hinck... But seriously, Tamamono, I really hope you aren't upset. This really isn't anything personal, it's just a game. All of us have screwed up in these games, some worse than others, and usually we are the one's who give ourselves the worst beating over it (Hinckley's an expert on this). You may be mocked now, but I hope you take that as a challenge to sign into the next game and play some more. You did well in Mafia School, so please say you won't quit playing over this. Looking forward for your game, Hinck!
  5. Haha, I'm in the lucky position of shouting out a big "TOLD YA SO". Ricey was reeking of Scum since Day 1, yet you let him slip by each day. The Town really hit the jackpot with Shadows on Day Two, with almost all the townies and none of the scum voting for him, but for some reason after getting rid of Draggy you proceeded to vote out the people who had voted for Shadows instead of those who hadn't. I knew there was something fishy about the townies not being allowed to contact each other privately, but I didn't think that meant there were no night actions at all. Clever ruse, Q. I must applaud for Fugazi for the "big move" to reveal the scums on the final day. It really was a perfect way to bring the game home for the townies, if it weren't for Tamamono and his "guts". I thought I taught you better than that in Mafia School, Tam. Didn't you know that you could actually see if someone is writing a PM by taking a look at their profile? Seriously, I need more Mafia, right now. I need to get rid of this rust that affected my performance.
  6. What a nailbitingly exciting day! Let's just see how it all turns out...
  7. Hmm, your figs are not bad by any means, but they're not exactly special either. It's nice that you wanted to show them to us, but maybe you should try to build a MOC for them or make up a story that ties them together to make them more interesting to view. I do appreciate the purist standpoint, though, for I make my minifigs like that too. It's not that there's anything wrong with using decals or painting figs or buying third-party items for them, but that's just not what I like to do. Lord is a generic term for all noble men that own their own piece of land. Counts rule a county (earl is a British equivalent of a count) and dukes rule a duchy, which usually consists of several counties. There are other terms for lords as well, such as baron and marquis. Your figure can be anything you like, but if you're looking for a generic term, that's "lord".
  8. I have to disagree with some of the comments in that in my opinion this is quite a fantastic and unique set for its size. There hasn't been another playground in System sets after Paradisa, after all. Not to mention the rare parts and charming figures included. Sure, the design is not complicated at all, but did anyone honestly expect that? Back then, LEGO knew what little girls wanted: a simple yet attractive set that could be quickly built for a session of roleplaying, but also rebuilt into another scene with relative ease. This set is a perfect example of that, and the family of three minifigs seal the deal. I was lucky to be a kid when Paradisa sets were released, and I was never shy of the pink in these sets either, because I needed the female minifigs to counterbalance the knights and pirates I had. I never got this set, though. I'm not sure how well this type of sets would go for today's kids, but for me at least there's a certain charm in Paradisa that I haven't seen in any other set ever since.
  9. I might as well confess that I took a rare minifig torso from my previous workplace at the kindergarten. Stealing from kids is just plain wrong, yeah I know, but it's not like they even knew it was missing from among those many boxes of LEGO they had to play with. And I'd never take any kid's personal belongings, even though they often brought their newly gained LEGO figs to the daycare with them. I aliken this "theft" equal to taking a pencil from your workplace. My work just has the benefit of having heaps of LEGO at hand - as badly mangled and broken as they are after having hundreds of kids playing with them over the years.
  10. Great work on a very important subject. It's fantastic to see LEGO used for a good cause like this. I hope you do one about discrimination as well. Human rights are our last line of defense, after all. If we give up on them, then what else protects us from total tyranny and anarchy?
  11. Amazing job, Hinck! Not only is your castle well built, it's also highly original and the architecture is intriguing. The color scheme is brilliant as well, there's just something about that "nougat" color that fascinates me. Even though your friend's castle is larger and more imposing, in my opinion your ruined castle is more interesting to observe. The size doesn't matter, you know... It would be nice to see close-ups without the reflection from the glass cabinet, some day.
  12. Lovely creation! I've always wanted to build a pyramid, too... May I suggest that you get some Pharaoh's Quest sets to decorate the interior some more? The sets offer some fancy hieroglyphs, scarab shields, and even Anubis guards for statues.
  13. And that's where they're making a mistake. When girls want to play with dolls, they ask for a doll - and there are countless of doll brands out there. Now, the issue has always been that many girls want to play with LEGO - that includes building - but the products that TLG has offered haven't really catered to them. Either they are too conflict- and vehicle-oriented so that they don't really appeal to girls, or then watered down and <insert that tiresome argument> so that there really isn't much to build with. Girls want to play with roles, everybody including TLG knows that - but the one thing that LEGO has as an advantage to other toys is the building aspect - you can build practically anything out of LEGO if you just have the suitable parts. So why isn't TLG fully using its biggest asset over the countless toy companies that produce toys for girls - the compatibility, the connectivity, the building experience? Why water that aspect down again like they did with Belville and Scala? Sure, the bricks will click together as always, but if the parts can't really be used with the other LEGO themes, then what's the point of this new theme? I know it's all guess-work at this point when all we have to go on with is hear-say, but I just don't like what I'm hearing. This is not the female-oriented theme we've been waiting for years to come. Oh what I would give to get to interview this theme's designer!
  14. Again, I'm not doubting that the theme will be popular. I just think it would be more popular (at least among AFOLs) if it were in minifig scale, because of the compatibility factor. With a different set of figures (and assumably a different scale) for this theme, people will be restricted to only those sets if they want to create a coherent world. Fabuland was alright on it's own, but from an adult's perspective the figures just don't fit a minifigure world (although that hasn't stopped certain admins from trying ). It's the same case here. In the near future a girl may have a beauty parlor, but if they want to have the minifigs from their farm set come over for a visit, tough luck. Kids are imaginative for sure, but at a certain age they start to imitate the real world in their playing. Minifigs might find a place in the new theme as kids or babies, but if the scale is off then the two types of figs won't fit into the same play as equals. And considering what the option would've been, that's a darn shame.
  15. This is so wrong! The theme and the sets sound wonderful, and will surely be a hit among little girls, but why why why make it out of minifig scale?! Why terminate Belville just to make another theme just like it, anyway? I imagine it'll be aimed for slightly younger girls than the age range of the system sets, but still. Do they really think minifigs are too small for girls? And the "dolls" have little to no posability? Can they even sit? I simply cannot understand what has went on in the minds of the development team...
  16. I adore the new minifigs (Bootstrap Bill even has a brown headscarf!), but the ship itself is really nothing to write home about. It's black with a bit of grey, and that's that. I think I'll just buy the new figs from Bricklink after the release of the set...
  17. Wow, I did not see this one coming at all. Now that I know what the game is all about, I love the concept. Too bad it can never be repeated in this forum again. Thanks for hosting such an innovative game here, def, it really was a breath of fresh air. At first I saw the silly figs with silly names and thought "what the hell is this?!", but when the game processed, it looked like an ingenious mixture of Mafia and the Guess Who? and Clue boardgames. Congrats to the winners, even though the game really was for the Town to lose.
  18. Children of Earth was a miniseries with only three episodes, this new season has ten episodes. There's a huge difference. Just watched the second episode. The plot didn't get anywhere much, but new subplots were introduced. It still doesn't feel like the old series at all with no references to the "Whoniverse" besides Jack himself and Torchwood. There's also a strange mix of comedic situations and stonefaced seriousness. The background story remains highly intriguing, I just hope they don't botch it up with some sort of "deus ex machina" in the end (like so often in Doctor Who, thanks to the wonders of time travel).
  19. This is a wonderful creation that certainly brings back memories of childhood to me. I'm loving all the action involved, and the vehicles are spot on perfect. However, at least to my interpretation this entry breaks some of the rules of this EB contest: Of course, it's up to the host of the contest to have the final say, I just felt I needed to point these out. Sorry.
  20. Haha, I just read The Truth! It was funny as heck, especially Otto. The whole concept of a flash-photographing vampire is just way out there.
  21. Love it! You've managed to capture the nearly collapsing state of the castle perfectly. I have no idea how you've attached all the sections together, but the result is impressive nonetheless. I too would like to see Sophie and Markl up close as well.
  22. So, it's likely the ninja will face lizardmen the next year, then. They'd be a great addition to the LEGO fantasy lore. Maybe we'll even see the return of the green ninja?
  23. Yay, another contest! I'm already filling up with ideas. It's great that you're allowing up to 15 images for the entries, since you can't really do justice to big MOCs in only three or four photos. Let's begin the series of classic contest questions: Are digital backgrounds allowed?
  24. I'll tell you what's worse: getting voted out on Day 1.
  25. So, did anyone watch the first episode of the new season of Torchwood? I have to say that the prospect of is highly disturbing, when you think of the consequences . Of course this is all linked to Jack Harkness , but it'll be intriguing to see how the plot twists and turns during it's ten-episode length. The switch from "monster of the week" style to a continuous plot is an interesting one, but there's always the risk that the story suffers from being stretched that long. None of the new American characters struck me as very interesting either, but at least there's always Jack and Gwen. <3
