That is not true. I corrected my vote after I saw it was not accepted, and it still wasn't accepted after that. Furthermore, my name was not on the list of voters NOR the non-voters, yet there was one extra vote. Counting one plus one, that extra vote must've been mine, but not cast by me personally. This is really a confusing situation to be in, because I do not know if I can be of any help to this town or not.

Poor Benji and Eugene... Well, we didn't have a strong case against Benji, anyway, but the other options did seem weaker, at least to me. Now, I want to talk a bit about my inability to vote yesterday. If you counted the votes that Benji got last night, the tally said 15 votes yet there were only 14 names on the list. My name was not among the non-voters, either. That means someone hijacked my vote and placed it on Benji. This made me worry that Benji was Town after all, but it was too late to say anything at that point, with the play going on and all that jazz. There might be some other explanation as to why I couldn't vote yesterday, but this is the best I could come up after thinking about it. If it happens again today, you can declare me the most useless Townie in town - I cannot vote, I cannot do anything at night, nothing but run my mouth.

Of course you do not need to go with the stereotypical description of the job classes. If you want, you can have your Gentleman Barbarian to play as, it'll only make your character that much interesting. And, if you reach Level 15 in the game, the advanced class options open up to you. Each advanced class is a mix of two basic job classes, although you are restricted to choosing from those that derive from your initial basic job class. So you can be a barbarian-cleric or a barbarian-knight in just 14 level-ups. But I'll give out more information on those later. Life is full of surprises, innit? The main reason is that Barbarian is a powerful attacker, yet suffers in defense. The Cleric is a sturdy healer, but especially if placed in the back row, a lousy attacker. It's all about balance, you see.

Yes. You start with 5 Ether on level 1, and with 5 level-ups, you now have 10 Ether. The same goes for Nyx.

A REQUEST TO ALL PLAYERS: When you sign into a quest at the Heroica Hall, do it clearly so I won't miss it. Put it in bold or underline it, whatever to make it stand out. As said, you can sign into multiple quests if you want, but you can only participate in one at a time (which is logical, since your character cannot be in two places at the same time). NOTE: Brickdoctor, K-nut, Fred Fred Burger, CorneliusMurdock and all future players, take note that everybody starts out with one Potion in their inventory as well, regardless of chosen job class.

Ellaria was sitting on one of the tables at the upstairs saloon, watching as more and more aspiring heroes came through the door. She knew the times were tough, and work was not easy to find in Eubric. Heroica offered a perfect way to rise up in ranks even to those who were born as peasants or servants. Each of these people had a story to tell, she could tell that. She too, had a story of her own, though she was not sure if anyone wanted to hear it. "So, what's your story, darling?" asked a scruff voice suddenly. Ellaria looked up to see the matron of the saloon, a homely female orc dressed in garish pink. "You can tell Scheherazade your worries. I've heard a thousand tales, you see, and told a thousand myself." "I... I guess I am here to seek my destiny in life, as naive as that sounds. You see, I was found in a forest as an infant, and the people of a small village raised me. But then as I grew, I began to manifest... powers, I guess. The villagers started to fear me, even though I could never imagine harming them. They said I was a... changeling. A child of the fay folk. They cast me off and I returned to the forest where I was found from. There, the most beautiful yet the most frightening voice spoke to me. My goddess... Sylvania... The Mother Nature... She said to go to the City of the Free. There I should find what I was looking for. But I don't even know what it is I'm looking for, so how could I find it?!" "Ah, fret not, my girl. I hope I managed to answer them all below, but give me a nudge if I missed something Like the rules state, you post the character details to your signature, and then introduce yourself in the Heroica Hall topic. I'm honoured that you think this game is worth spreading around. Of course you can do all those things, if you remember to credit me and Eurobricks. It's alright, except that you also get a Potion, and the Topaz is an elemental gem, so you don't need to list it twice. Any type of introduction is fine. If you're not one for fancy stories, you can just say "hi" to the people gathered there. Of course I'd appreciate if you used more words than one, though. Of course you are, as long as they're LEGO weapons and fit with the setting. A pole-axe would belong to the axe category. 1. In your example, the two types cancel each other out, so a Flying Mechanic type enemy would take normal damage from wind spells. If the enemy was a Flying Vermin type, though, the wind spell would cause quadruple damage against that enemy, since both those types are weak to the element. 2. Like it says in the rules, the players choose their actions before the die is rolled. Healing and casting are also affected by the die roll just like attacks are. Ether is only depleted upon successful casting and healing. 3. Yes, when you use an item you also choose who to use it on (yourself, any ally, or an enemy). 4. Bombs are like elemental spells, so they follow the same rules of weakness and immunity as the spells do. Thus a Lightning Bomb will not have any effect on Electric-type enemies. 5. Yes, all classes start out with one weapon with the power of 3, one potion, and one class-specific item. For knights, the last one is a shield with the power of 2. 6. The adventure part are the quests. Not all quests take place inside Eubric, they can take place anywhere in the fictional world. Of course all the six noble families have names (and symbols and all), and of course there's a main plotline that will unravel due time. It's me you're talking about here, after all! The three quests I'm initially hosting are all open for sign ups until the next Friday. I will of course extend the sign-up time if there doesn't seem to be enough players yet. Like Mafia games, Heroica RPG is more of a game system rather than one continuous game (at least to the players, not so much to the host). What I mean is that you can participate into the quests whenever you feel like you have the time. At least my quests will last at most a month each. You don't have to be going on quests continuously to be able to play this game. If you want, you can for example create a character now and wait for a better time to sign into a quest.

All of these questions are addressed in the rules, but since it is a long read, I will repeat them here. 1. Mages need elemental gems to cast spells, but they can attack physically with their weapon as well. All mages start with one elemental gem, as stated in the character creation page. 2. If you fall in battle, you will be automatically revived after it with one health. However, there is an item that can revive you during the battle as well. 3. You start out with one weapon of your choice that has the power of 3, as stated in the character creation page. For other topics related to the game, see the Heroica RPG Index.~ QUEST MASTERS' GUIDE This is a guide to those who want to host their own quest for Heroica RPG. You should have a firm grasp at the rules of the game and preferably at least one completed quest as a player under your belt before applying to host your own quest. PLANNING THE QUEST The first thing you need is an idea for a quest. There are no restrictions to what type of a quest you can create. Most importantly there should be one main goal that the players must achieve in order to complete the quest. There can be several side missions included as well. The quest can have nothing but battles or no battles at all. It can include fetching, finding or gathering items. You can add puzzles and riddles for the players to solve. The quest can last a week or span several months. It can take place anywhere in the fantasy world of Olegaia – feel free to create your own countries and nations, just as long as they fit the setting. You can draw inspiration on the setting from the past quests or the Library-topic. And remember that a well-crafted plotline will help to keep the players motivated to complete the quest. You should plan your quest as far as possible. Make yourself a list of all the main events and side paths, all the battles the players can get into and all the items they can find, and all the non-player characters (NPCs) they can meet and interact with. There can be shops or merchants to be found during the quest as well, in which case you should figure out all the wares they sell. Take special care when creating battles. The battles should be adjusted to provide challenge to the party of characters that the players form, but not be impossible to win. You can create your own monsters and other enemies, but please use the following form: Name: This should be descriptive of the enemy. If a battle includes multiples of the same enemy, they should have something after their name to distinct them from each other, like a letter or a further description (numbers should be avoided since they can easily be mixed up with the enemy’s level). Type: This indicates the elemental strengths and weaknesses of the enemy. One enemy can be of several types. See the official rules for all enemy types. Level: This indicates the attack power of the enemy. Take the maximum health of the party members into consideration here. Health: Put the current and maximum value of the enemy’s health here. Consider how many hits the player needs in order to defeat the enemy to decide the value. Special: The special skill of the enemy. This can be anything from causing elemental damage to healing other enemies to stealing gold from the players to inflicting them with special effects like poison. Hard enemies can have several special skills that alternate per battle round. Drops: This indicates the amount of gold and items that the enemy drops after the battle. Consider if the enemy could realistically carry said items, for example most beasts wouldn’t carry gold. Enemies can also have ether or defense (equal to SP), or have immunity against certain effects or some other passive effect on the battle, in which case there should be a note about it. You should also build MOCs for your quest and take pictures of the events, the environments and the monsters to illustrate the quest and make it that much interesting. Please avoid using blurry photos. LDD-pictures are allowed with the reservation that they are of good quality. Once you have the quest planned, write a pitch for it and send it to me (Sandy) via PM. The pitch must include the following things: Quest Title: Name the quest something interesting, but don’t reveal everything in the title. Assignment: Write the main goal that the players should achieve during the quest. Preferably write it in the perspective of the employing character (which must be different from your player character) or organization. Party Requirements: Write the requirements that you wish the players fulfil in order to participate in your quest. These can include specific levels or job classes, even specific gender or race. but most importantly the size of the party that can participate in the quest. The party size should not exceed six players at least on your first few quests. Reward: Define what rewards the players get from completing the quest. This can include gold, special items, extra levels or reputation among an organization. You may have to provide some enemy statistics and pictures you've prepared as well as answer some questions before your quest is accepted into the game. STARTING THE QUEST If your quest is accepted, the pitch will be posted in the Quest Board in the Heroica Hall -topic. There will be a deadline assigned for sign-ups, and after that you choose the participants out of those who signed up, and create a Quest-topic that is only open for you and the chosen players. In the Quest-topic you should give further information about the quest as the employing character, and choose a Party Leader among the players. The leader should be someone you know has experience of the game and shows promise of being motivated to play, as he or she will make the most crucial decisions for the party in and out of battles. During the quest, you should give as much freedom to the players as is possible within the frames of the plotline you created. Don’t just point them to the right direction or hand everything to them, but make them think and test out different possibilities on how to progress. Note that if you are planning to include unique items that have complex effects into your quest, please consult me about them beforehand so I can determine how well they fit the core mechanics of the game. BATTLES Battles can only be initiated by you. Players cannot make up monsters to fight on their own. When you start a battle, list all the encountered enemies with all the information related to them as well as the statistics of the party members for the players to see. Then ask the Party Leader to choose the order of action, and prompt all the players to choose their targets and whether they want to attack, heal, cast a spell, flee, use an item, etc. Once all players have posted the required information, roll a six-sided die for all their actions (except if they used an item). If a player does not post their target within 24 hours, you are free to choose it for them as the rules dictate. Remember that any enemy that isn’t targeted by the players will get a Free Hit on the party at the end of the round (see the rules for further information). It is your job to calculate the damage inflicted and taken for all the players and enemies, so pay close attention to it. It helps to write your calculations in the results, so that the players can double-check them as well. As a hint, keep the job class descriptions close at hand to see the effects of the die rolls for each of the players, since the effects vary between the classes. Once you’ve calculated the battle results, post a description of them into the Quest topic. If there are any enemies still standing, initiate a second round with all the steps described above. If the party defeated all the enemies, claim them victorious, give all standing players the experience they earned from the battle (one level up increases power, health and ether by one) and ask the Party Leader to divide the gold and items that the enemies dropped. If the entire party flees the battle, you can choose whether to give them a chance to try it again or not. Note that the knocked out characters will be carried away by their companions if everyone flees, and be revived with 1 health. ENDING THE QUEST If the enemies managed to defeat the entire party, they will fail the whole quest. In that case they will not get any rewards from either the battle or the quest. You as a Quest Master can apply to host the failed quest again, although you should probably adjust it to make it more passable. Once the players achieve the main goal of the quest, you should post an ending to the quest where you also give them the aforementioned reward for completing the quest.

Ahaha, I love this review! Too funny! The set is kinda special too, with a focus on a wicked character instead of lollipop princesses and fairies. There's some nice rare pieces, but as Belville goes, almost everything is a bit too oversized to be mixed with minifigs. But your review really made it more appealing, Penguin. Thanks for the laughs!

Aww come on! It's just a game, I'm 100% sure there is nothing personal behind it towards you! I was voted out first in Belville Mafia, and sure it was frustrating, but that only made me want to play more.

As a Final Fantasy fan, I'm excited to see what the airship looks like. I'm assuming it's the "Destiny's Bounty" set. Loving the name, at least.

Wait a minute... What kind of logic is that? You want a conviction, yet you decide to stick to your vote (which is the only vote against Nika). How about helping us reach the conviction instead?

Apparently my vote does not count at all. If the reason is a Day Action, it must be either a Mafia Vote Blocker or a neutral one, because what would our Town do with a vote blocker? Voting is our best weapon against the Mafia, and the chances of blocking a townie would be too big for the vote blocking to be helpful to the Town in any way. Besides, in the case of a Day Action I'd be a nigh-confirmed townie, which would put a huge target on my back, and I know the Big Voice wouldn't do that to me (would he? ). No, the reason must be something else. Since my vote is not in effect, I'll try proxying my vote, but if that doesn't work either, I'll just sit tight and wait for the end of the day to learn just what the hell is going on here. As I previously said, there seems to be a stronger case to accuse Benji, and his "defense" was quite a scummy one, right down to calling others ignorant. Thus, I will proxy: Donil (Waterbrick Down). Fingers crossed this works...
