Sorry, forgot to answer this question. There are of course other rooms in Heroica Hall (such as the residences of the leaders and the servants), but they are not accessible to the public. The adventurers do not sleep there, but at inns or their own homes. The organization does not provide any equipment for the heroes either, but it does own ships and horses for travelling purposes. In general, think of the building as a guild house or a community center, to give you a better idea of it. Of course you can change your character's appearance. I wish you would post a 100x100 pixel avatar for him, too, since the one I made for him will be wrong then. Yes, and also post the required information to your signature. Just look at how the others have done it, if you're not sure.

I actually prefer it this way, since that means I get to read through the hilarious banter in search of the sign-ups. Thus far it hasn't been a problem for me, but if it becomes one, I'll take your suggestion into account. I do have some bad news for some of you enthusiastic players: the amount of sign-ups to all quests have risen so high that unfortunately not everyone will get into the three quests that start initially. I'm totally overwhelmed and thankful for the interest the game has garnered, and I assure you that each and everyone of you will get to play in a quest at some point in the future. I just don't think I can handle hosting any more than three quests at a time, but in the future I hope there will be other quest hosts to offer new adventures as well. I hope everyone understands this, and won't be too disappointed if they aren't selected into any of the quests come next Saturday. Just to give you guys a heads up, I will be basing my choice of players on the party balance, quality of posting and activity on the Heroica Hall topic. So there's still time to impress me with your writing and storytelling skills. I can say that there are some great characters in the game already. And this doesn't mean you shouldn't join the game, if you haven't already! The game really is open to all members of this board, old and new, and the more the merrier! Finally, some statistics to give you tips on creating an original character: PLAYER CHARACTERS SO FAR: 26 PLAYER CHARACTERS BY JOB CLASS: Barbarians: 3 Clerics: 4 Knights: 6 Mages: 2 Rangers: 6 Rogues: 5 PLAYER CHARACTERS BY GENDER: Male: 18 Female: 7 Unknown: 1 PLAYER CHARACTERS BY RACE: Human: 18 Elf: 4 Orc: 1 Halfling: 1 Imp: 1 Unknown: 1

You can use tools during the quest (I don't want anybody digging holes to the floor of my precious Heroica Hall, after all ), outside a battle. Usually digging the ground when you're not actually searching for anything will not give you anything, but the Quest Master might throw in a few surprises to ferocious diggers now and then. That was a problem during the Test Quest as well, but there's no helping it. Because of the timezones, the turns usually last up to 24 hours, unless everyone happens to be on the computer at the same time. However, there's a maximum of 24 hours wait limit - if you don't post your desired target in 24 hours, the QM will choose it for you. Please read the rules again. It's all answered there. I'm not saying this to be nasty, but the rules include things you really need to know in order to play this game, so I want everyone to read them as carefully as possible to avoid future mishaps.

No, not my Sarah! First my precious daughters, now my wife! Why, oh Big Voice, why?! This is almost too much to bear. I can't just helplessly watch as my loved ones die all around me. I've got to know whether I can help our Town or not, that's why I... Vote: Barbara (BobtheConstructionMan) The reasons are that I already voted for her yesterday, and she has been flying under the radar today as well. I will change my vote if a more suspicious name comes up - that is, if I can vote at all. You scumbags, I'm going to get you all for what you did to my wife!

Players can freely trade gold and items between each other, but they must take care to adjust their character profiles accordingly. Cheaters will be kicked out of the game, as cheating only ruins the fun for the others. It doesn't. Scheherazade made it clear to Signor Bacari in my latest post in the Heroica Hall topic. I'll try and get the Marketplace up and running tomorrow, so you can start splurging your precious few coins. Anyway, I'm now signing out for the night, and then I have work, so I'll be back to answer your questions in about 16 hours.
-
Scheherazade flings the coins back to the elf with the hat. "What are you giving me gold for? Haven't you figured out everything here is free to members by now? If you want to spend your measly money so bad, visit the Marketplace once it reopens."
-
Oh, sorry! I did not know about the movie before you showed it to me.
-
Subtle, yeah right! But you're right, of course. And I'm the type of storywriter who likes to put references to his stories, so you can look forward to more of them in the future.

The current sign-ups: Quest #1: Harvest Time 1. Bartholomew Docken, Level 1 Ranger (Brickdoctor) 2. Sir Christopher Daggerfall, Level 1 Knight (Fred Fred Burger) 3. Eric, Level 1 Barbarian (KhoRne) 4. Atramor Gibbin, Level 1 Rogue (CallMePieOrDie) 5. Tesni Hightribe, Level 1 Barbarian (Peppermint_M) 6. Sir Sven, Level 1 Knight (SirSven7) Quest #2: Looking Through the Wares 1. Atramor Gibbin, Level 1 Rogue (CallMePieOrDie) 2. Bartholomew Docken, Level 1 Ranger (Brickdoctor) 3. Nyx, Level 6 Mage (Pandora) 4. Signor Bacari, Level 1 Ranger (Capt.JohnPaul) 5. Althior Emorith, Level 1 Mage (K-nut) 6. Lord Lawrence Boomingham, Level 1 Knight (Zepher) 7. Alexis Fenral, Level 1 Ranger (Masked Builder) Quest #3: The Missing Matriarch 1. Nyx, Level 6 Mage (Pandora) 2. Sir Gladius Stoat, Level 1 Knight (TazManiac) 3. Althior Emorith, Level 1 Mage (K-nut) The orc matron gave the inquiring lord a long, hard look that would have scared away most men. The lord was used to dealing with women, however, so he didn't give in. "You're a persistent fellow, aren't you?" Scheherazade finally said. "And you ask the silliest questions. I'm a full-blood orc, not some prissy elf - of course I didn't live 250 years ago! And how dare you ask a lady her age?! Piss off, you fat old goat!" The knight learned a valuable lesson: even when you have innate skill in diplomacy, be sure to behave like a diplomat.

Nope, just done my reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Thousand_and_One_Nights.

Read the rules, please. I don't want any "tl;dr" types in the game.

Ellaria tilted her head as she listened to the ramblings of the portly man. "I am sorry, kind sir, but I only arrived to this city recently, so I know nothing of the goings-on here. But you should probably ask Scheherazade over there for history lessons, if she isn't too busy. If you'll excuse me, I must retire to the inn I'm staying at. There is nothing for me here, not yet." As she stood up, she politely nodded at the older man, but in her mind she thought: "294 years old, really?!" The city of Eubric was a peculiar place indeed, even for someone who was rumoured to be kin to fairies.

The quests start on either next week's Saturday or Sunday, so you should be back in time for them, worry not. And there's no rush with the picture. The leveling might seem fast, but it also keeps up the sense of progression. Also, I'm not a computer, so I'm really not going to start counting any experience points. As far as Ellaria goes, she will only join a quest that is hosted by someone else but me. I can't well host a quest and play in it at the same time, can I? This reminds me, there's a distinct lack of Clerics in the game at this point, even though healers are the backbone of any party. I don't mind at all, as long as you do the picture eventually.
-
Ellaria watched in horror as the barbarian lady sat to her table, shouting orders at Scheherazade. She was just about to ask how the woman could have walked to Eubric - it was on an island after all - but the barbarian was already back on her feet and stomping towards the Quest Board. Ellaria reminded herself never to get in that woman's way.

If you're interested in a closer look at the MOC I built for Heroica Hall, I just posted a topic about it in the History forum. Go check it out! Nice to have more female heroes on board! I took the liberty to make a new avatar for Alexis (and Fred Fred's Sir Christopher) for the Gallery, since the one you made was a bit too small. Aside from that, you forgot to add a Potion to your inventory (everyone starts out with one). Otherwise you're good to go! Yes, one of the advanced classes is Druid, namely the mix of a Cleric and a Ranger. But more on those when somebody actually reaches Level 15.

Hi guys! I'm sure most of you have already heard about the new RPG experience that launched yesterday in the Games Forum. If you haven't, why don't you go check it out after glancing at this MOC I built for it? Let me present: Heroica Hall As you see, it is not a complete building since it acts only as a backdrop in the RPG. The design and architecture are actually inspired by the headquarters of Clan Centurio in the videogame Final Fantasy XII. I tried to get some fantasy vibe into the building so it wouldn't be just another vaguely medieval construction, hence the outlandish color scheme. Anyway, Heroica Hall is the headquarters of an organization of adventurers that perform heroic deeds for a reward. The hall includes the main staircase, a saloon on the upper floor and a gallery below it. There is a notice board on the bottom floor that contains pitches for the different quests that the aspiring heroes can sign into. The sidewalls are decorated by legendary weapons - they just happen to be all made of gold in this case. The staircase leads up to the saloon on both sides. The saloon is where the adventurers come to drink and dine between questing. It is run by a female orc called Scheherazade, who knows all the latest rumours and is eager to spread them forward as well. Isn't she a beauty? However, she is not the leader of the organization. That job belongs to the six elusive elite warriors calling themselves the "Veterans". Here's the bar and the door to the kitchen. And here's a few closer looks at the dining area. Below the saloon, there's a long gallery where portraits of all the people who have served in Heroica are displayed. There's also a globe that shows the entire the world. Not like good old Earth, is it? The adventurers sometimes gather to compete who can find their location from the globe the fastest. That useless piece of information concludes our tour of the Heroica Hall. Hope to see you all in the game!

No, because there has been many changes to the rules during and after testing, and posting it would only cause confusion. However, I am planning to host a similar quest as the test quest again some day.
-
No, spears are a category of their own, and they are not ranged weapons in this game. I can always help building the minifig for you, if you can't do it yourself for some reason. After all, I did the minifigs for Shadows and Dragonator as well.
-
Like I said, you will only be chosen into one quest, no matter how many quests you sign into. If there are loads of sign-ups, some players may even be left outside these three quests altogether. But nevertheless, I will pick out those who get to play in each quest myself, regardless of the order they signed up in. Yes, I will, and I imagine it will be too. But I'm sure other people will get into hosting their own quests eventually as well. At least I hope they do...
-
Yes, you can put "Daggers (WP:3)" into your inventory, for example, and have your character wield two daggers. Additional weapons on your minifig is fine, just as long as you don't put them into your inventory.
-
The boardgames are actually a sort of prequel to this game. This game takes place 250 years later, and the events depicted in the boardgame are known as the Orcish Invasion. But you'll learn more about it eventually. And I'd rather have people asking question than play without having a clue about the game.
-
Without saying a word, the sullen Scheherazade points to the first post on this topic, where all the rumours are listed.
-
Well, technically it would be possible, but it wouldn't be fair to other players, really. At least I am going to stick with the set deadlines - unless of course there aren't enough sign-ups to some quest, that is. But it seems that won't be a problem, with so many people joining the game. A warm welcome to all of you new players, by the way! Let's make this a fun experience together. Oh, the sign-ups won't finish until Friday! I merely posted the current situation for everyone to see. So don't worry, you will surely get companions into whichever quest you'll be chosen (as each quest has a minimum amount of players required). And you can sign into multiple quests, too, though you'll only be chosen into one. All three quests are designed for beginning players, anyway.
-
Well, from yesterday's suspects, we've got Barbara, Petr and Nika left. At least we should keep an eye on all of them, but if somebody has some new names to bring to the table, please do!
-
Oh yes it is, during the winter at least. Trust me, I live there. Didn't you hear the latest rumours? The Marketplace will open as soon as possible, but there may be shopping possibilities during some quests as well. But shopping is mostly done in between quests.
