  1. Balancing these job classes is really tough. On the other hand, I don't want to make them too complicated, and on the other hand I've been asked to give the classes more things that differentiate them from each other. If giving Barbarians the full health restoration after each battle feels too much to you guys, I can always change it to something else...
  2. It just takes a while for your server to process the reuploaded images, since the filenames are the same. They should change soon. Donny's "holster" is actually for his weapon, which will be revealed once the party gets to fight him. And explosive bolts are of course the work of alchemists, duh! Yes, the retrieval should be successful each time.
  3. No, since Smoke Bombs affect the whole party. Sorry. As a minor note, Cleric's Spirit Guard's name was changed to Special Guard in preparation for the advanced classes. The effect is still the same as when it was last changed (Clerics are protected from negative status effects, but not other kinds of special skills).
  4. ATTENTION! After some feedback, I've finally made some changes to the Job Classes. The Adventure Traits have been changed into Job Traits, and Barbarians and Rogues got whole new ones: Because of these changes, all Barbarians who have purchases bedrolls (which they no longer need), can add back the lost 5 gold as they remove bedrolls from their inventory. I must emphasize that Barbarians regain full health only after a battle, not during it. Rogues on the other hand can now flee from the battle whenever they feel like it, and their battle options have been changed accordingly. They still cannot return to the battle that they've fled from. Hope you like these changes!
  5. The party turns left from the intersection, taking note of the faintly luminescent spider as they pass it by. They walk along the tunnel for a while, until they hear sounds from ahead. Three figures emerge from the shadows of the sewer. Two more Wolfgang thugs attack them, accompanied by a female bandit with a crossbow. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Enemies: Wolfgang Thug (Dagger) Type: Humanoid Level: 3 Health: 12/12 Special: Steal – The target loses gold according to their level. Drops: 10 gold, 1 Potion Wolfgang Thug (Club) Type: Humanoid Level: 3 Health: 12/12 Special: Steal – The target loses gold according to their level. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone have acted.
  6. The party searches the alley. The crates turn up empty, and they hide no secret entrances. Skrall lifts up the manhole cover, and finds a latter descending into the sewers. Distant splashes can be heard from the sewers. Seeing it's the best option to go with, the trio decides to descend into the dark and damp sewers (even Skrall manages to wriggle his way through the manhole). Their hunch is right, as they find a wig and a light blue dress abandoned near the ladder. There is a crossing of tunnels ahead of them, so there is three possible ways for Donny to have gone. Which direction will the party go first? LEFT, STRAIGHT or RIGHT?
  7. All hosts should remember that the heroes attack differently than the enemies. Each hero attacks as stated in the job class section in the Rules, with a battle die. The normal damage they cause is calculated by adding their level to their weapon power. The enemies only attack the way described in their statistics. The enemies cause damage based on their level only (not adding the power any weapons they might carry), and special attack works as described in the stats. So in Bacari's case, his special skill says: "Triple Shot- Bacari shoots three times, at 1 or more targets", and he's a Level 6 enemy, which means he will cause three times 6 damage to one, two or three heroes. Hope this solves any confusion there might be! Don't hesitate to contact me if you're in doubt, everyone!
  8. Results of Round Two of the Alley Battle: >Skrall vs. Wolfgang Thug (Club) - Shield >En Sabah Nur (Earth) vs. Wolfgang Thug (Club) - Miss Haldor vs. Wolfgang Thug (Dagger) - Special Damage The party continues the battle in the same formation. Skrall places three arrows on his bow, and Tripleshots the thug with the club into oblivion. Nur fails to produce a spell again. The remaining thug attempts to steal from Haldor, but Donny Dozenhand has already done the job for him. One enemy remains. The battle continues. En Sabah Nur finally gets his magic to work, and his Earth Shard damages the thug for 4 points. Haldor receives a Miracle from his deity, restoring up to 7 health to the whole party. One enemy still remains. The battle continues. Enemies: Wolfgang Thug (Dagger) Type: Humanoid Level: 3 Health: 8/12 Special: Steal – The target loses gold according to their level. After the battle, the group looks around them, but the alley is empty. It seems the shady woman has disappeared into thin air. What will the party do next?
  9. Results of Round One of the Alley Battle: >Skrall vs. Wolfgang Thug (Club) - Aim >En Sabah Nur (Earth) vs. Wolfgang Thug (Club) - Miss Haldor vs. Wolfgang Thug (Dagger) - Damage The heroes begin their battle with the thieves. Skrall aims his arrow well, and thus inflicts only 3 damage to the club-bearing thug. Nur's cannot get his spell conjured up. The thug with the dagger slashes at Haldor, causing 3 damage to the cleric. Both enemies still remain, so the battle continues. Enemies: Wolfgang Thug (Club) Type: Humanoid Level: 3 Health: 9/12 Special: Steal – The target loses gold according to their level. 10. The party moves in on the suspicious looking woman, only to have her slip from their grasps. They manage to see her sneak into a nearby alley, though. The party follows the homely woman into the alley, but are blocked by two thugs bearing a wolfhead insignia. The party draws their weapons. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Enemies: Wolfgang Thug (Club) Type: Humanoid Level: 3 Health: 12/12 Special: Steal – The target loses gold according to their level. Drops: 10 gold, 1 Potion Wolfgang Thug (Dagger) Type: Humanoid Level: 3 Health: 12/12 Special: Steal – The target loses gold according to their level. 11. Haldor's act earns him plenty of looks. Before he even knows it, his purse is gone. Haldor loses all gold. He gives a signal to his companions up in the roof, and they start scanning the Fishmarket. The party must choose one person to seize, pointing that person from the crowd. If the person turns out to be someone else besides Donny, they must give Haldor more money and repeat the process. Which person will the party seize?
  12. With their purses filled with gold, the party made their to the Fishmarket. The whole place was hustling and bustling under the watchful stares of the statues of the sea gods Neron and Neredice. People were shouting, seagulls were screaming and the multitude of fish and other sealife was filling the air with their stench. Everyone's eyes were drawn to the monstrous shark that hung at the center of the marketplace. There were at least three fishermen around it, each claiming they were the one who caught it. The three heroes arrived amidst all this. As per planned, Haldor started to walk around the Fishmarket to attract attention, while Skrall and En Sabah Nur climbed to the roof of a nearby building to have a clear view over the place. What does Haldor do to attract Donny's attention?
  13. The captain nods. "We have a strong suspicion Donny is in cahoots with the Wolfgang posse. A loner does not rise to such a fame as Donny has in the criminal circles, after all. You can expect to encounter Wolfgang cronies trying to block your way if you chase after Donny, but I'm sure noble heroes such as yourselves have no trouble dealing with that kind of riff-raff." Lilbelly lets out a croaking laughter. "So, are you ready to get off your megablocks and actually do the job?"
  14. How will the remaining 250 gold be divided? Captain Lilbelly shrugs. "I don't know what new tricks Donny has up his sleeve, but some of his previous victims have managed to identify him. Just keep a keen eye on the Fishmarket, and you might just spot him." The captain takes a swig from his wineglass. "Now, are there anymore questions you'd like to bother me with?"
  15. "That's seven", guys. Thanks for letting me play, def! If only I hadn't been so damn absent-minded...
  16. Haven't we been through this already? AS hard as it is to believe, due to my tension I really did forget Bell had investigated Heng, and only after going through our conversation again I remembered it. I am being honest here. If I were a scum, why would have I claimed to have forgotten something like that, when I could have just said it out front at the beginning of the day. And remember that you heard my forgetfulness from Kelly. Even after I remembered Bell's investigation, I was hesitant to make it public because it also revealed the effects of the Magic Beans. Kelly's direct quotes made that worry futile, and brought the information to the public. I still can't see how anyone can believe that to be a scum plot. Anyway, you will all see just how wrong you were tomorrow. I have directed everything I know about the medicines to few trusted people now, so I can now die with a good conscience that I have done everything I can to help the Town.
  17. As you probably saw by now, all five current quests are now active. More quests will be up to join into once a few of these quests have concluded.
  18. The watchmen look at each other. "I don't think they get it, Marv", the other guard says to his comrade. "Yeah, they must be too thick to be ripped off. Let's just let 'em in before Bigbelly goes mental on us", the guard called Marv replies. The two watchmen open the doors and let the party enter. They are taken to the captain's office, where Captain Ubert Lilbelly is waiting for them. "Are you the Heroica lot?" the captain inquires. "You sure took your sweet time to get here!" The heroes notice the bottles and coins on and around the captain's desk. They can smell the reek of drunkedness oozing from the captain. "Now listen up, rookies. Your job is to catch Donny Dozenhands, who's been making my life miserable for years. Every time we've caught him, he's found a way to escape. But now he has crossed a line that shouldn't been crossed. He's been witnessed stealing from several noble houses, the Ji Pei among them, and now those snobs want his head. For some reason it's customary that thieves are not executed - maybe because that would mean half the population of Eubric would be a head shorter - but I don't care if you bring him to me dead or alive. We'll deal with him accordingly." Then the captain slips a piece of parchment across the desk to the party. "That's Donny, an ugly bastard for sure. You can most likely find him from the Fishmarket, that's where he's been lurking his victims as of late. Here's the promised 300 gold in advance, use it to lure Donny out. One of you should walk around the square making sure your fat purse gets noticed, while the other two keep watch from a good vantage point. Note that he's become so greedy nowadays that he won't bother taking any small sums anymore. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, though, because if you run out of money, don't come crying to me for more. So the bait should be enough to lure Donny out, but not too much that you can't try again if you fail to catch him the first time. You will fail the quest if you lose all the gold without catching Donny." "Have you understood what you lot are supposed to do now? You got any more questions?" Party Leader, how will the bait be divided? 300 gold
  19. The guards snort and guffaw. "What's in it for us?" the outspoken watchman asks with a wide grin.
  20. ~Note: The first post is updated with the current quests. Three more deities were added there, as well as an updated map of Eubric and a link to the Bestiary.~ Byblos lifted his eyes off the scroll he'd be examining. He looked around, and there was no one in sight. The whole Hall seemed to be devoid of life. A smile spread on the librarians face. "Finally, some alone time!" He opened the top drawer of his desk and took out a banana. As he peeled it he leaned back in his chair. For a while the silence of the library was filled with happy munching sounds.
  21. Three aspiring heroes left the Heroica Hall and made their way to the Town Watch barracks to begin the quest they were chosen into. Those three were: En Sabah Nur (played by Jebediahs) Level 1 Mage (Party Leader) Power: 4 Health: 5/5 Ether: 5/5 Gold: 5 Inventory: Sangriste Dagger (WP: 3), Garnet (Earth), Potion, Bedroll Haldor Skovgaard (played by Scorpiox) Level 1 Cleric Power: 4 Health: 9/9 Ether: 5/5 Gold: 5 Inventory: Gauricheim (Mace, WP: 3), Potion, Remedy, Bedroll Skrall (played by Waterbrick Down) Level 1 Ranger Power: 4 Health: 6/6 Gold: 0 Inventory: Boar Bone Longbow (WP: 3), Potion, Smoke Bomb, Ice Bomb The trio has been assigned to catch a notorious picpocket called Donny Dozenhands. The thief-catchers arrive to the entrance of the barracks, where two scruffy-looking guards stop them. "Meh, whataya want?" one of the guards asks. The Town Watch certainly isn't know for being polite and honourable. What will the party answer?
  22. Do you really think that's somehow more logical than that I'm just speaking the truth here?
  23. I apologized to Stan because I realized I should have gone after Heng from the start of the day (since I remembered what Bell had told me yesterday). I guess I didn't word it too clearly, then. I still don't know if Stan is Town or Scum, so that wasn't what I was apologizing for. Logic also dictates that there is a stronger case against Heng, because an investigation found him "not town" (again, if you take my word for it). Nobody has investigated me at any point, and Heng hasn't even tried to claim that. So I'm voting Heng because I know he's scum, and Heng is voting me because I accused him. And again, a scum wouldn't be so desperate as to start accusing people (and then change accusations) at the start of the day on Day 3. The scum wouldn't be so desperate at this point, since there isn't even a single scum caught yet. Why can't you people see that?
  24. I have to apologize to those who signed into Quest#6 for the belated start. I will however get your quest up and running tomorrow. Thanks for your patience, it will be rewarded with a fun (if a bit short) quest!
  25. Someone's holding a grudge... I did apologize to you, did I not? And at that point there were no other evidence (that I remembered) I could've gone with, so when Kelly approached me and told me about the Lemon Peel's effect, I thought to bring it to public evaluation. At no point was I 100% sure you were scum, and I said as much. Your attitude right now makes me feel I was right after all. You're still hammering on the fact that I (falsely?) accused you, even though that is the nature of this crazy game. You didn't even get any votes, so please stop beating a dead horse. Or are you really a worried scum who now tries to ensure everyone gets how WRONGLY accused you were...
