Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Conclusion
Sandy replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The first post has now been updated with the character profiles and my personal evaluation of everyone's performances. Thanks again to all of you for playing, and thank you for the kind words about the presentation. I really tried to do my best with it. As requested, I'll post more shots of the Fairy Tale Castle later today. -
"Damnation! I should've left already!" cursed Elphaba as she got up and quickly slipped into her black velvet dress. Anwyl Smokebeard patted the empty spot on the bed that the witch had left. "Come on, why are you always in such a hurry? How about another round of fierce witch-on-dwarf love, eh?" "Bah, we already had three rounds last night! You are insatiable, Anwyl, and you certainly are no dwarf! No, I really must leave now. The Coven is waiting, and they do not like to wait..." Without even a word of goodbye, Elphaba left the smith's house. Soon the horseless magic wagon was seen driving out of the Marketplace. It would be another half an year before it would be seen again. ~Elphaba's Magic Wagon has left the Marketplace.~

I really like the scrolls, too. Good job thinking of more status effects, B&P. Haha, that's exactly what I had in mind! ... Not.

Now that my Mafia School is out of the way, I'll launch two short quests: another Wolfgang vs. Town Watch quest, and a Guild of Invision vs. Shadeaux quest. Both of these feature about three battles, but they're important in advancing the main story. After those are done, I'm thinking of giving you a glance of the lives of Nuitan and Lyren, as has been requested. Oh, and Ellaria should make a return to the Hall soon as well.

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Conclusion
Sandy replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
There is no scum writeboard, they communicated via PMs. Flipz set up a writeboard for the dead after he was killed off, but there's not much to read in there... Nico's head is from the peasant boy in Mill Village Raid: Gio had multiple torsos during this game, most of which are from the Collectible Minifigure Series, but the last one (the leather jacket) is from Mutt Williams from Indiana Jones. -

I hope it goes without saying that LotF did not pass this game, even though everyone else did. -

Sandy replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Gio would've died anyway, sorry. If the good guys had won, Nico would've grown up to be an attorney, fighting organized crime with a lawbook. It seems that it was Lord of the Fries that revealed the role to the scum first. Kadabra was put into a tough position when he took over the role. -

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Conclusion

Sorry, I accidentally hit the "post thread" instead of "preview" too soon, but the entire conclusion is now up. Please enjoy seeing how the story unfolds after the victory of the bad guys. -
Nico's dreams took him to the Fairy Tale Castle, imposing and somber in the darkness of the night... He saw the All-Fruit Tree, completely withered by the grim force that had taken over the castle... He saw the image of Little Mermaid in the Looking-Glass, sleeping innocently in her precious bath tub... He saw the lifeless corpse of Red Riding Hood hanging from a noose... He saw the remaining good guys of the castle being rounded up by Aladdin, Rapunzel and Prince Charming... ...And lead to the ballroom where Sleeping Beauty was already waiting. One by one the innocent ones were pushed into the Looking-Glass, unable to resist their fate. Nico saw the villains rejoice their victory over the castle. Tears swelled up his eyes as he watched evil reign over good. Then something pulled him away from his nightmare... "NOOOOOO!!!" A ghastly scream, chilling his spine. It came from the kitchen. Nico's mother was throwing cutlery at his father, crying her eyes out. His father was angry and they both were shouting. Something about Gio... Later on, Nico's mother was taken away by people in white. His father said she needed to rest. They would go visit her sometime, his father promised. And Gio, they would visit him too. And bring a candle. Congratulations, everyone! You have successfully passed your Mafia School education, and are now eligible for advanced games. I hope you had fun with the game, even though the story was kind of a downer. Please leave any feedback and comments you might have to this topic. I will post individual evaluation of each of your perfomance in this game a bit later. I guess you weren't that much of a contributor, then. That's probably why you survived until the conclusion. Chromeknight: You were definitely the driving force for the bad guys from the very start, and you kept the threads in your hands even when RPGer started going rogue on you. You flew under the radar and weaseled your way into the good guys' alliance and manipulated them from the inside. Your smart moves impressed me, and you seemed to know the game mechanics by heart like a veteran already. Dakar A: You were active and you seemed to have fun with the game. You played well until you went and broke the rules. But I trust you know them well enough now. Darth Nihilus: You were a victim of the circumstances, I think. You started out well, but you failed to defend yourself when it would've mattered the most, and you ended up getting lynched. Donut: You played a good, analytic game, but your lack of trust eventually made you play for the wrong team. Just because someone doesn't take you into their inner circle, doesn't automatically mean they're scum. Flipz: You were very enthuastic to get to play this game, and it seems that cost you in the end. You were so eager to make all kinds of theories that you failed to remember that this was a simplistic game with the other players being beginners as well. Sometimes things just are what they look like. However, you showed a profound understanding of the core gameplay of Mafia, and I can't wait to see you in action in a more advanced game where the possibilities are nearly limitless. Thank you for your commitment! JackJonespaw: You played well, and you managed to stay off of the good guys' radar for a long time. Your posts in the day-topics were very "townie". JaseTJ: You were an active player, and you seemed eager to learn, even though it took you a while to wrap your head around the rules. Unfortunately you broke the rules when it mattered the most, and the bad guys took advantage of your penalty votes. Kadabra: You took over the role of the good cop in a very tough situation. The scum already knew of your role and your results, and they were able to use their knowledge against you, but you still played valiantly and posed a real threat to the bad guys. Well done, and thanks again for stepping in! LEGOman273: I'd say you were the brains behind the good guys after Flipz was killed off, and you played a solid game. However, Chromeknight managed to dupe you as well, and somehow you gained the mistrust of half of the townies too. palathadric: You managed to avoid an almost certain eviction against all odds, and you played well for a first-timer - except for the one time you forgot to send in your night action. Piratedave84: You weren't very active, but when you posted it was pure business. However, the scum managed to fool you in the end as well. Poison Ivy: Your game was shortlived, and you had the misfortune to get victimized because of your character. But that showed the other players the important lesson that appearances have nothing to do with allegiances in Mafia. RPGer: At first you didn't seem to grasp the fact that playing scum is a team effort, and that even though the bad guys were supposed to lie and mislead, they weren't supposed to do that to each other. Your posts in the Day-topics were quite transparently scummy, too. I'd almost say the scum win despite of you, rather than because of your help. But you shaped up at the very end, and I believe you learned enough to move onto the advanced games. Superficial Username: You played a good, analytical game for as long as it lasted for you. You smartly avoided playing the character the way I portrayed him to you, and you were trusted enough to get you killed first. The_Customizer: You played well enough, but somehow you roused the suspicions of the good guys and your game ended abruptly before it really started.

There's a few profound problems with your idea: 1) The Shadeaux are merchants, not thieves, even though the Hinckwells try to insinuate that. They use some questionable means to advance their trade, but so do the Hinckwells. The rivalry between the two factions is not supposed to be about good vs. evil. 2) There are no pirates around Uland, the Bonapartes have made sure of that. Jolly Roger was the last one to attempt piracy in the region, and his entire crew was decimated. There are pirates further away from the Free Islands, though. So please come up with something else.

The conclusion to Day Four is now up, and the results of the night actions have been sent. The game will continue later today.

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Day Four
Sandy replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The fairy tale folks swiftly decided to send Little Mermaid through the Looking-Glass. This left some of them baffled, since they had a different target in mind... "Sucks to be you, actually. This place ain't half as bad...", said the mermaid from the other side of the mirror, saluting for goodbye as her image faded. "... And then an image appeared on the mirror, revealing the horrible truth. But let's leave it at that." Gio finished. "I gotta mosey, dad's waiting for me." "Dad?" Nico wondered. "Yeah, I'm a full-grown man now, kiddo. He wants to take me in on his business. See ya in the morning!" Nico stared after his big brother. But dad was a bad guy, wasn't he...? -
You still had the little over 24 hours to post, which you did. If you had not posted before the conviction was reached, you would've gotten yourself eliminated from the game. So in future games, always make sure to notify the host of any absences that last over 24 hours.

Final Vote Tally: Little Mermaid/JaseTJ: 6 (Chromeknight, palathadric, Donut, penalty for playing the game in the Discussion-topic) Puss-In-Boots/Dakar A: 3 (penalty for playing the game in the Discussion-topic) Aladdin/palathadric: 2 (Kadabra, JaseTJ) The day has ended with the conviction of Little Mermaid/JaseTJ. Please send in your night actions within 24 hours. -
Since this item was put under scrutiny, I can say that I approve it, but like with all powerful items, I don't want every quest from now on to hand out similar items. And whoever gets that artifact may not equip another belt among the three chosen artifacts.

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Day Four
Sandy replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
With his fever rising, Nico did nothing but snooze throughout the day. His feverish daydreams took him back to the Fairy Tale Castle... ...where the residents were preparing for the most important vote so far. Would they be able to convict a bad guy, or would they be tricked into the wrong path again? Voting opens now, and lasts a maximum of 48 hours. With 10 players in the game, it takes 6 votes to reach a conviction. Current Vote Tally: Little Mermaid/JaseTJ: 3 (penalty for playing the game in the Discussion-topic) Puss-In-Boots/Dakar A: 3 (penalty for playing the game in the Discussion-topic) -
So you only figured it out that now? Ouch! You didn't see all the promotional pictures, then?

Thank you very much for playing, Piratedave!

That night the Looking-Glass only showed its usual reflection, because the inhabitants of the Fairy Tale Castle had failed to convict anyone... The All-Fruit Tree continued to wither and wilt... And the morning revealed another horrendous scene... It was Jack, crushed by the weight of the rainbow crystal chandelier that had been cut loose. This was obviously the work of the murderer, so Jack must have been a good guy. With so many in their number already lost, it looked like all hope was gone. After cleaning up the night's horrors, the residents went their separate ways, not even wanting to converse with each other. Nobody could be trusted, nobody was a friend. But the castle was not big enough to prevent coincidental encounters. "I can't believe we found each other again after all these years only to face imminent death, Red." "Are you trying to bluff me, White? It didn't work when we were kids, and it won't work now." "Killer or not, we're still sisters. To the bitter end, Rose Red." "To the bitter end, Snow White." "Don't run away! I'm the only woman in this castle you haven't slept with yet, and I don't want to die a virgin!" "Gah!!!" "Hey, Puss! Wanna take a bath with me?" "Yikes, you have found my only weakness, Mademoiselle Mermaid! Keep that icky liquid away from me!" "Thish is definitely the besht vintage, don't you agree?" "Where do you get thish shtuff, Bunny? It'sh delish!" "Let'sh jusht shay thath I did not leave the Queen of Heartsh' cashtle empty-handed..." "In my country they have a saying that the last sunset you see is always the most beautiful." "Haha! If you mean to stab me in the back and throw me down this tower, Aladdin, you better think again." "Come on, it's just a saying..." Jack's sack of dried magic beans was added to the mementos in the castle's vault. He and so many others had already paid the price of a wrong choice. The good residents could not afford to convict anymore innocent people... "I can't believe it... *cough* Is there no hope left for the good guys?" Nico asked when Gio brought him a bowl of hot soup to ease the flu. "We'll see, eh? It all depends on what they decide. Now slurp it down, it's good for ya" Gio said, ruffling his little brother's hair. "Gio? Will you come to tuck me in tonight?" Nico asked quietly. "Geez, I already said I'm sorry for missing it yesterday! I'll promise I won't miss it again. Cross my heart and hope to die. Gotta go, sweet Veronica is already waiting for a ride. Ciao!" Nico looked at the bowl of soup, unable to eat. "Don't hope to die, Gio... Don't ever hope to die..." PLAYERS: palathadric as Aladdin JaseTJ as the Little Mermaid Jackjonespaw as Prince Charming Dakar A as the Puss-In-Boots RPGer as Rapunzel Kadabra as the Red Riding Hood Chromeknight as the Sleeping Beauty LEGOman273 as Snow White Alex the Great as the White Rabbit Donut as the Wicked Witch Poison Ivy as Pinocchio (Good Guy) - Convicted on Day One The_Customizer as the Big Bad Wolf (Good Guy) - Killed on Night One Superficial Username as Mr. Bear (Good Guy) - Killed on Night One Darth Nihilus as Goldilocks (Good Guy) - Convicted on Day Two Flipz as Cinderella (Good Guy) - Killed on Night Two Piratedave84 as Jack (Good Guy) - Killed on Night Three RULES: 1. To win the game, the Good Guys must vote or kill off all the Bad Guys, while the Bad Guys need to outnumber the Good Guys. There are no other factions in this game. 2. Each day will be played out in its own topic. During a day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting must be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player, meaning that over half of the remaining players must vote for the same player to warrant a lynch. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Do not play the game outside the day threads. Similarly, do not post out-of-character inside the day threads. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact your Mafia School teacher via PM. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in penalty votes against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. Voting begins in 24 hours from now. There are 10 players left, so it takes 6 votes to convict someone.
-
Tomorrow from my perspective, of course. I have no idea what time it is wherever you live. Alright, I've got some idea, but anyway, the next Day-topic will be up in less than 20 hours.
-
Results of the night actions have now been sent, and Day 3 will be up tomorrow.
-
For the Castle, sure. I'm actually quite pleased about how it turned out. But the "house" is just a couple of facades, there's nothing to see beyond what you see in the pictures, really.
-
It depends on a Special. If it is something positive, like healing or enhancements, the enemy should use it on the party. If it's negative, it should use it on itself.
-
Dakar A and JaseTJ, there has already been several warnings about not playing the game in this thread. All allusions to your or your fellow players allegiances are playing the game, and so are all theories and speculation about what will happen in the future of this game. I'm sorry but you should've known that by now. You will both get 3 penalty votes once Day Four's voting starts. That's right, but All-Fruit-And-Vegetable-And-Berry Tree was just too long for a name.
