Results of Round Two of the Assassin Battle: >Benji vs. The Crimson Reaper - Hit >Alexis vs. The Crimson Reaper - Hit >Althior (Darkness) vs. The Crimson Reaper - Damage (redirected to Benji) >Alexis vs. The Crimson Reaper - Damage (redirected to Benji) Benji hits the assassin with his darkness-elemental bolt for 52 damage, waking the enemy up. Alexis hits the target as well, causing 29 damage. The Crimson Reaper then attempts to attack both Althior and Alexis, but his attacks are diverted to Benji, who subsequently loses 20 health in total. The effect of Aura then fades away, leaving the warden at full health. The enemy still stands strong. What if they aren't casting a spell? That's the main reason why the Shield-skills use a random element in the first place.
-
An interesting suggestion, but in that case the description shouldn't say "SP", but a fixed amount of damage. However, shields are not artefacts, and some Advanced Classes already have counterstrike skills, so I don't think this will be included. Thank you, anyway!
-
Ah, I knew I spoke too soon! Well, many of the female characters have dark brown hair, anyway. IMPORTANT NOTICE (Especially to CallMePie)! With the recent introduction of the jinxed-effect (that has now been added to the list of effects), the Witch's battle skill JINX has been changed to SPECIAL MIRROR that has a slightly different effect. Now the witch is struck by the opponent’s special skill, but reflects it back to cause the same effect on the opponent. Hope you are okay with this change! PS. I've totally forgotten that I was supposed to open up an artefact shop into the Marketplace! I'm now creating the list of items to be sold there, so if you have any suggestions to be added there, please post them here.

There was nothing there but a solitary orc sleeping off his drunkedness. "Zzz... Dmn you, Prvost Lectr... Dmn you to hll... Zzz..." the orc muttered in his sleep.

There's one problem with your quest: the only bank in Eubric is kept by the priests of Mercutio at the Cathedral of Commerce. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before in the Library, though. I've been contemplating on how to implement the Cathedral into the game system so that players could store their extra belongings there without having to carry them around... But anyway, you can always make your quest be situated in another city.
-
Not bad, I just have two minor gripes with it: 1) She looks very modern, like some detective woman from a police tv-series, who just happens to carry two swords. 2) Other than my character and zakura's Mizuki, every other female player character in this game has dark brown hair. A little variety wouldn't hurt. But if you want to keep her like that, it's of course up to you. This is just the perfectionist in me talking. Now you will never know, thanks to Dyric. The title of the quest is "the dark secret", after all.

"What?!" the dubious lady growled. "You dare to refuse my genial offer? I don't flaunt my junk in front of just anybody's face, you know? I'm not that kind of a girl. I'll give you the most important lesson a man can learn in life: HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A WOMAN SCORNED!!!" The "lady" flicked "her" fan forcibly, making steel blades protrude from it. "Her" eyes were in flames from rage as "she" rushed towards the rogues. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Alrighty, just send me the details of this quest as well as some pictures and enemy statistics, and we'll see if you're ready for a hosting duty.

The "lady" turns around and smiles "coyly" at the rogues behind "her" fan. "Mmm, sure! I'd love to help you out, boys!" the questionable lady says with a gruff, low voice. "How about I help you out in those bushes over there, handsome?" The "woman" winks at Dyric and motions him to follow "her" to the shrubbery. "I promise I'll make it worth your while, hottie." How will Dyric respond?

Heroica RPG - Quest#33: WANTED! Violetta the Cat Burglar

QM Note: I just noticed a slight problem with Alexis' flute, Masked Builder. The sleep-effect works on enemies in a different way than it does on heroes; sleeping enemies will be inactive for three rounds unless woken up by an attack. However, how the fast asleep -effect works on enemies has not been defined. I can always extend the number of rounds the effect stays, but in a weapon that's pretty futile, so the simplest solution would be to change your flute to only causing the normal sleep-effect. Would that be alright with you? Results of Round One of the Assassin Battle: >Benji vs. The Crimson Reaper - Shield (Aura) >Alexis (Longbow) vs. The Crimson Reaper - Critical Hit >Althior (Darkness) vs. The Crimson Reaper - Shield (Magical Vortex of Light) >Alexis (Flute of the Magi) vs. The Crimson Reaper - Hit At the start of the battle, Benji uses the surrounding environment to create a protective aura within him, temporarily doubling his health for the next turn while attracting all hostile attacks towards him. Alexis draws her longbow and scores a critical hit, causing 39 damage to the assassin. Althior's sagacious powers summon a Magical Vortex of the light-element, causing 25 damage but wasting the vortex's healing powers. The hastened Alexis attacks again, this time with her Flute. The Crimson Reaper suffers 21 more damage and is put to sleep. One enemy remains, but due to the delicate situation the battle will not be played out automatically. Enemy: The Crimson Reaper *asleep* Type: Humanoid Level: 20 Health: 209/294 Special I: Crimson Wave – Causes cursed-effect to all opponents, reducing their max. health by 3 every turn until only 1 health remains or the effect is remedied. The eerily beautiful Luminous Passage is empty apart from a lone woman walking away from the party. Her high stiletto heels make a clicking sound on the hard ground.

First the rogue mugs the guard, dealing a whopping 100 damage and gaining 100 gold from the strike, and then he finishes his opponent off with a critical hit that causes 76 damage. Dak hits the other guard for 21 damage, and Dyric follows by mugging Borthos for 42 damage and an equal amount of gold. Only one enemy remains, so the battle continues automatically. They will have to try again another night. Will the party return to the Invision Guildhouse or explore the park some more?

Keep them quest ideas coming! There's still several players left in the Hall, yearning for some questing.
-
I know some of you are brimming with ideas, but I have to ask you to leave all storylines related to the Wolfgang sabotaging the six houses in power to me, because that's pretty much the main plot of this game. You are free to pitch quests for the Wolfgang to raise reputation among the criminal group, but like some of you have said, they better be posted under a false identity.
-
Count Shadeaux laughs heartily. "Du you take me for a fou? I cannot even remembeur 'ow many times someone 'as tried to poizon me. Mais c'est la vie! Guards, kill zem." The count leaves the two guards to face the party, vanishing into the shadows of the trees himself. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! The guards turn and block Guts' way to the count. "Not a step further!" the other guard says. Count Shadeaux's interest is however piqued. "Mmm, an interruption to my nightly walk? How... refreshing", the count muses. "State your buziness, strangeur, but be mindful about who you are talking tu. I know every trick in ze book." What will Guts say?
-
Umm, unless the three goddesses in Zelda represent Power, Wealth and Fame, then no... Do you have any idea how many "threes of something" there are in all mythologies, let alone other fictive works, anyway?
-
I said that not everything is a nod to pop culture, but obviously most of my creations are. Both quests were originally going to be very quick and straightforward, but I decided to spice them up a bit with extra scenes, npcs and battles. What wouldn't I do for your entertainment?
-
The party made its way to the Grove of the Forsaken, which was situated in a secluded glade in the middle of the woods. They found someone reading through the memorial tombstones while being guarded by two heavily-armed soldiers. What will the party do?

"Ah, I apologize, Sir Warden, but the Assassin's Code of Conduct forbids disclosing any information about the employer. I don't feel like chatting with you anymore, anyway. The night came, and with it the Triad Park changed from moderately discomforting to downright creepy. The three rogues stood at the Fountain of Three Gods, pondering on their next move, when a caped man approached the fountain with a bouquet of flowers. "Alright, this was where we agreed to meet. I hope I'm not late..." the man mumbled by himself, seemingly nervous. "Gosh, I hope she's as beautiful as she described in that Z-mail. Damn my nerves, never been on a blind date before..." The man kept some distance to the three rogues, making sure they saw the handle of a knife in his belt so that they wouldn't attempt anything funny with him. "Yoohoo... Are you Wolf_Cub666...?" asked a drawling voice from the other side of the pond. The rogues watched as a female mage in pink ran towards the brutish man with the flowers. "It's me... LovelornEnchantress179... I can't believe you are actually here...!" The man flinched and threw the bouquet to the ground. "Yeesh! Just my luck... I'm outta here!" "Wolf_Cub666, where are you going...?" the woman hollered, picking up the flowers and dashing after the man. "Please marry me...!!!" The three rogues were alone again. Only the quiet gurgle of the fountain and the chirping of crickets in the bushes could be heard. Where will the party move next: Stone Garden, Luminous Passage or Grove of the Forsaken?

"Why, I am here to assassinate Lord Hinckwell, of course. I am a professional killer of the highest standards, I do not deal with scoundrels like the Wolfgang." "I scaled up the wall, naturally. The guards below were easily distracted. Honestly put, I expected that this would be a more challenging mission." The Crimson Reaper threw back his cape dramatically. "Now, will you let me pass, or shall we cross blades?" -
The Arena fight can take place before Benji left on the quest, if someone's worried about time discrepancies. Don't take the in-game time too literally, it's all wibbly wobbly timey wimey. I apologize for the delays in my quests, especially #34. I had a busier day than I anticipated today, but I'm off work early tomorrow, so the quests can continue at full speed then.
