  1. The audience makes no reaction to Thothwick. All of their eyes are fixed on Barbariccia. "*muffled speak*!" Round One of the Steerpike Battle: Boomingham vs. Remus - Hit/Critical Hit (Remus: 583 health-(46x8=368 dmg)=215 health+bleeding) >Nyx (Darkness) vs. Steerpike - Special Damage (Half Moon Venom - Nyx: badly poisoned, blinded, asleep) >Thothwick (Shuriken) vs. Lupus - Hide Nyx - Badly poisoned (-10 dmg) Remus - Bleeding (-5 dmg) Boomingham gets a great hit on the other werewolf and makes him bleed. Nyx's spell goes awry, and Steerpike gets a chance to inflict her with his devastating Half Moon Venom. She falls asleep on the stage, while the deadly poison runs through her veins. 2. What, did you expect him to make a public announcement, then? Or lurk in the crowd, so that the players got a chance to spot him? There's a reason for his sudden appearance inside the Theater, trust me.

Sorrow's gold reaping venture slays both Burlesque and Cedric, and earns him 188 gold. Nagure is attacked by Ajax, but the yeti just shrugs it off. Sorrow continues his killing streak by assassinating Drugog as well. Arthur blinds Bowen on his second attempt, and confuses Arrowic. 4. I wondered it myself, as well. Maybe Pandora missed the whole discussion about the rule change on the amount of artifacts one can equip...
  5. QM Note: Well, I'd say it's up to you if you want to do it, since you don't get any benefits from it (on the contrary). Just don't come crying to me when you roll only Sentinels and your party is badly poisoned, blinded, confused, afraid, cursed, etc. Oh, and if you want to hear what Barbariccia or Steerpike has to say for themselves, be sure to remove those earplugs... if you dare.
  6. QM Note: I noticed I forgot to double your health, it's fixed now. And of course I meant that Steerpike is immune to negative effects, thanks for pointing it out. But why do you want Guardian Angel to be Sentinel half of the time? Just for roleplaying purposes? Isn't that a disservice to your party...?
  7. Actually, yes. I only take them apart temporarily if I need some of their parts. Nowadays I have a collection of almost 1400 unique minifigs plus a plethora of separately bought parts for them, so I'm pretty well off.
  8. QM Note: Tsch, tsch! No battle actions outside of battle! Boomingham tosses his only bomb towards the stage, but a figure steps out from the curtains in front of the singing Barbariccia, deflecting the bomb somewhere backstage, where it explodes without casualties. Boomingham recognizes the figure as none other than Nikolaus Steerpike himself. The Wolfgang poisoner is accompanied by two werewolves. Steerpike says something that the heroes cannot hear and swiftly assaults them. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Everyone, post your actions and targets. While the heroes engage Steerpike and his lackeys in battle, Barbariccia stops singing. The whole crowd stands still, just staring at the woman.
  9. Nyx sees the audience all staring blankly towards Barbariccia. Suddenly they all get up from their seats, and gather to the front of the stage. Even the people on the balcony lean closer to the railing. The heroes remain unaffected by the hypnotic song, thanks to their makeshift earplugs.
  10. Earlier that day, outside the Theater...
  11. I have a hard time imagining that song to a pseudo-medieval setting. Oh, trust me - she's on a whole league of her own.
  12. Hahaha, that cracked me up!
  13. QM Note: Very well. If Pandora would have chosen otherwise, she can blame you for it, then. The high and mighty of Eubric applaud wildly as a young blonde woman in a flowing white dress appears from the curtains. Barbariccia Dellamore raises her hands and the crowd goes quiet. Out of nowhere, an eerie melody starts playing, even though the heroes can only hear it faintly. Then, Barbariccia starts singing. The crowd listens to the voice in dead silence. The heroes sense there is something very wrong about the songstress. Thothwick pays attention to her amber eyes...
  14. The man stops Thothwick, shirking backwards and blocking his ear with his hand. He then glances worriedly at the stage, where Bilbert is finishing his speech. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome... BARBARICCIA DELLAMORE!" The crowd begins to applaud as the background canvas at the back of the stage changes from a daytime landscape to a nocturnal one. QM Note: I'm going to wait for Pandora's reaction.
  15. QM Note: I hope you realize that I need quick reactions to this turn of events. There is no time for elaborate trap-checking, compass scrying or z-mailing - otherwise you will have to face the consequences of stalling. Thothwick's inspection shows that the man has wax stuffed into his ears as well. "...!!!"
  16. Though the man is shorter than Thothwick, he is no dwarf but a full-grown man. The man gives a piece of the wax to Thothwick, then points his ear again. "...!" The bearded man shakes his head fervently, and as Boomingham turns his back on him to walk to the golem maitre d', the bearded man tries to pull him back by tugging at his cape.
  17. You would have seen a big fat "THE QUEST HAS FAILED!" text if that was the case. Well, losing a battle has its consequences. As a QM, you must be prepared for the case that the party does not survive your challenges as well. At this rate, I'd say the quest will be over within a week. Now it's showtime, everybody.
  18. "Zere is a zing called pride, you know? Ze 'Inckwells 'ave caused nozing but 'arm to my famille ever since we came 'ere. Our buziness was doing just fine wizout zem, so zis charade of an engagement is unnecessary and totally uncalled four." "Oui oui, bien sûr!" "Thank you for your kind words, sir. I will have to remember that..." The crowd was getting restless, since it was time the main course was to be served. The heroes saw the maitre d' sending waiters to the kitchen to check up on things, but none of them seemed to come back. They exchanged worrying glances, hoping that Arnulf and the others had things under control at the kitchen. Boomingham gathered Nyx and Thothwick to the side of the stage to consult them about which one of them would go to the kitchens. It was then that Bilbert Wigglepike stepped on the stage again. "Ladies and gentlemen, the most exquisite dinner you have ever experienced is being prepared in the kitchens right now. Unfortunately it is taking longer than anticipated to get it to your tables, so our main performer, the oh-so-lovely Barbariccia Dellamore has agreed to grace us all with a song that will surely get your minds out of your stomachs and into the heavens!" As Mr. Wigglepike talks, someone approaches the heroes from the behind, tapping Thothwick to his shoulder. The Metasimian turns and sees a bearded man offering a ball of wax with a sense of urgency in his eyes. He points at the wax, then to his ear. How does the party react?
  19. QM Note: You're right. You have too damn many variables, I must say. It's fixed now (your calculation omitted the +2 power bonus from your artifact, btw).
  20. Results of Round Seven of the Main Course Battle: Arnulf vs. DFC B - Critical Hit (DFC B: 25 health-23 dmg=2 health) >Grimwald vs. DFC A - Damage (Grimwald: 3 health+1 SP-(5/2=3 dmg)=1 health) DFC A+Walking Wiener - Free Hit vs. Arnulf (Arnulf: 5 health+3 SP-(5/2=3+7=10 dmg=0 health) DFC B - Free Hit vs. Grimwald (Grimwald: 1 health+1 SP-(5/2=3 dmg)=0 health) DFC B - Cursed (-3 max. health) Arnulf gets great hit on the second dreadfully fried chicken, but it's not quite enough to take it out. Both heroes succumb to the beating of the demons... THE BATTLE IS LOST! As soon as the heroes are dealt with, the enchanted food turns their greedy eyes against the kitchen staff. 22. Thanks for pointing it out, but sadly the only thing wrong in that calculation is the 10 health, as Grimwald was left with 8 from round four. I don't know how the kitchen party can overcome this battle anymore, but maybe a miracle can happen...

Sorrow then continues by reaping more gold, but failing to assassinate any of the thugs. Cedric and Arrowic follow with free strikes against the two heroes, with minimal results. Nagure counters again, this time with his furry fists. Arthur runs to his comrades just as three more thugs join the battle. 24. Not really. I just made one for Cronk as a spur of the moment, and hinted one for Boomingham.
  25. Haha, glad I got out of that trainwreck of a Town early... Just kidding, it was fun to try something new for a change. I'd like to believe I was screwed over by the mechanics, but I have to admit I did not put as much effort to this game as I probably should have... Sorry! Anyway, congrats to the scum team! A clean sweep is always something to be proud of, especially since this was no team of newbies you were up against. I have to give extra kudos for the presentation, Hinckster. The comics were a true joy to read, with all the HP-references hidden into them!
