But Agnes, oh, my! *giggle* My girlish heart is a flutter; so many strapping young men and women are helping us clean, Agnes! We'll have to log this in our double diary once we're done! The continuation... It was clever of him, The Inventor thought proudly, to plant that bomb in the millionaire's bag. He was quite pleased that he had thought to include unique thought with the programming. "SIR, THE PROCESS IS COMPLETE. PLEASE INITIATE THE NEXT PROGRAM." The Inventor clicked a few buttons and spoke his next command: "COME." The monitor blinked. Then - "PLEASE INPUT COORDINATES." He typed them in and waited for the response to load. "OPERATION COMPLETE." -~-~-~-~-~-~- Electricity surged through Adam's wiring. He was back online. Adam sat up silently and crept towards the edge of the ruins. Fully charged, he vaulted over the wall. One part of Adam knew what was going on and tried to resist. The other, more powerful, part only listened to its commands. The "It" that was the Inventor-controlled Adam sped towards his set coordinates, the sounds of the forest at night muffling his movements. Back at the camp, no one noticed that Adam had left. Melody had gone off to converse with Zach and the others had decided to sleep elsewhere. Meanwhile, Adam approached a rusted metal structure, hidden deep in the forest. Only someone who knew the way could find it. Although it was worn, the machines were fully functional, and he could hear the mechanics at work below him. Whhhiiiiiiiirrrr... The engines powered up, a flash of light illuminated the stage, and Adam was gone. -~-~-~-~-~-~- "SIR, PROTOTYPE TWO HAS ARRIVED." The Inventor turned towards the machine that approached him. It was Clone 3,286.194, or D-SYD. "Wonderful, D-SYD!" The Inventor cried. The Clone, which couldn't understand emotions, merely responded, "AFFIRMATIVE." However, The Inventor continued to explain. "You see, when my comrades and I created these beings," he said for what the Clone registered as the 274th time, "all of the other robots were inferior. This new design, which incorporate more human elements, was to be continued." Pausing, The Inventor paced the room. "But then Prototype One... malfunctioned, and the others escaped. My fellows and I went separate ways, but we still kept up with each other. With this split, however, the others began to use the technology for personal gain. They had to be eliminated. Only one still evades my grasp..." Throughout all of this, D-SYD just stood and processed: none of this meant anything to its circitry. "But now I have recaptured control of Prototype Two, and I can make adjustments. I can make more. You see, it has been proving that making the robots more... human improved them. But what if I were to make them more alien? It would be a great success, that's what! And it is exactly what I intend to do!" Adam walked into the room and was directed to the lab.

Adam was not asleep. He was simply turned off. In a few minutes, he would be completely rebooted. The Inventor cursed. Adam's abilities had been used too much that day. He must remember to be more conservative in the future. Process complete. Ready to receive next program. The Inventor cheered silently - he was back online! His joy was short-lived; there was much work ahead of him. To be continued... Please do not post or edit anything relating to me until I finish. Thank you.

That has nothing to do with it. It's an inside joke.

Mine shows only the character I'm playing (which is sometimes myself).

I could do it, although I'm highly inexperienced. But hey, you gotta start somewhere....

I am not speaking of "original" creations, but new creations (built for the Tourney). I did not keep up with the Tournament Discussion Thread, or wherever that final post came from, but I have no knowledge of there being "two teams left out." Whether or not posts are alternating by day, which I am assuming they are not, I find it slightly unfair for one team to post three times in a row. This may be because that team was "ready before the other," but it puts the other team - and the judges who score between MOCs - to a disadvantage. I don't know if what I'm saying is coming across correctly, but I feel that there should be at least some form of guidelines as to when to post your creations. And since I'm in a ranting mood, no machine guns!
-
I'd like to point out two things... Generally, the creation posted should be new, as in built for the Tournament and for the Tournament alone. And second, Zorro said, "Redcoats start," not, "Redcoats start and then not let anyone else continue." I would assume entries are to be posted IN ORDER from now on. Personally, as a judge, I am willing to let this fly. But if either side does it again, you will be penalized. This is not to say I am not pleased with the entries. You are all doing an excellent job in that category. And WHERE are those bribes?!?!

This is quite fantastic! The Brick Time's work with water is stunning. My only objection is that this has little to do with Pirates.

When Connor started posting, and you said nothing against it, I assumed the handcart story was plausible. Obviously, my assumption was based on immaterial facts. -

Ouch. Would whoever gave me "Can not be heard because he jumped off the train." fess up, then?

"Can not be heard because he jumped off the train." I don't need to explain that one.

Murder on the Emerald Express: Discussion

Let me explain myself: My atlas says that it's 420 miles (road distance) from Auburn to LA. Now, the town is apparently somewhere in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, south of Auburn. I have placed our location as far away from LA and Auburn as possible on the map. The distance between each city can then be described with the triangle pictured. The line connecting Auburn to LA is the longest line, and that is 420 miles. I'm sorry for the whole train/walking thing, I'm just really confused... EDIT: Hinckley, if you'd read my edit you'd know I had just seen the discussion thread afterwards.
