    I think the "Golden Age" of LEGO is the 1950s. When the 1950s started the LEGO brick was a failure, which could not sell. But during the 1950s TLG turned the failure to a success. In the end of the 1950s the LEGO brick was a very popular toy, which was sold in the most of Western Europe. Here is a German LEGO commercial from around 1956: In this old commercial you also see AFOLs. You don't see that in modern LEGO commercials. In the period 1954-1959 TLG also had a mascot. He was very cute. I think it´s very sad, that they stopped using him as mascot. He could be seen in the most LEGO catalogs from that time. Here is photo from my Danish 1958 LEGO catalog:

    I knew that the old garage exists in many versions. But I did not know that it exists in so many versions. I do actually own a 1236 Garage with box and instruction from 1955: I collect old LEGO sets, cars and bricks from the 1950s and 1960s. I have 3 town plans:

    This is my first two GBC modules. The Fabuland GBC module is build for a LEGO exhibition in Denmark in April 2011. But I have not photographed it before this month. The Danish LUG Byggepladen had recently had a Friends GBC contest. For this contest I have build a Friends GBC module: I have made a video to show how they work:

    Fantastic layout I saw your layout at the exhibition in Oslo and I was very impressed. Fabuland figures are very cute. It's nice to see them used in a layout.
