  1. I also liked the adventurers... and never noticed poor sales (with the exception of scorpion palace) so it is a shame to see them go. But it is inevitable in a way. Lego has moved away from the 'Legoland' model of in house themes with sets and only an implied story, towards creating 'play scenes' and holding imagination by the hand with overly drawn out simplistic stories of 'good' and 'evil'...Oh well "Play On" ;-) . God Bless, Nathan
  2. Mr Norro, exactly which conversation are you referring to? Or if not an actual conversation what did you mean by that? Just having a little castle content in the forum ; ) . As to wether you have seeen this before: It may have been incorporated in a larger scene I did a while ago... God Bless, Nathan
  3. The gold bricks work so well... I am very impressed! God Bless, Nathan
  4. I had to go with Everest because the figs were brilliant and the sets were great value... India and Egypt wouldbe my runners up. At the time I couldn't buy the amazon sets because they were so incomplete but in hindsight I wishI had just for their great selection of castle/pirate/ruins friendly parts... God Bless, Nathan
  5. This is a great collection of images... it is nicew to have them all gathered under one thread. You have a wonderful ability to capture mood in the backgrounds. I also like the way your custom MOCs fit with the Lego western theme so smoothly. God Bless, Nathan
  6. (pic=link) OK, in the spirit of castle MOC based conversation in this forum, and while I complete work on my latest MOC, here is an old one from my gallery. I know it isn't very good (now) but I remember being really pleased with it then.... Enjoy. God Bless, Nathan
  7. I always thought this was a prime candidate for rerelease. Especially now, as it contains very few bley pieces... God Bless, Nathan
  8. I never thought of using that head for pirates (and I have one) shame! Great idea. God Bless, Nathan
  9. I really liked this but I have to admit the horse threw me... It is so unexpected with lego pirates for some reason... Looks great though! Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  10. Even though I am not normally awedby set adaptions... this is really cool! Well done. God Bless, Nathan
  11. I liked the more 'piratey' explanation :-) God Bless, Nathan
  12. Looks good! I should try something similar for the later castle lines... God Bless, Nathan
  13. Well I obviously don't need one... but this is a mighty generous offer all the same. It is in that true pirate spirit "join our crew or walk the plank*". God Bless, Nathan *Yes I know a plank is not the most historically accurate pirate detail out there...
  14. Great work for all basic bricks. The early knights work well with the colours you chose. God Bless, Nathan
  15. I go away for a few days and the inquisition launches a new image?! I'm speechless (but fortunately can still type...) God Bless, Nathan
  16. I tried to keep all my boxes but have gone through one move too many for all but my favs to survive. As others have said... the new packaging isn't as inspiring anyway (in my opinion). God Bless, Nathan
  17. What about the beard in the pic of you... oh, that pic may be of someone else... Back OT... Welcome to EB. God Bless, Nathan
  18. Hi and welcome! I know there are some greeks on Lugnet... not sure if they've been active recently... Anyways enjoy and God Bless, Nathan
  19. Is this a joke Phes? There is no set of this no. (not to my knowledge or a quick search that is...) God Bless, Nathan
  20. A supper RBR... not much more to say except the detailling is quite good on the 'back' (take that you nautical minded readers :-$ ) God Bless, Nathan
  21. The Nephilim one is my fav:cause and effect... God Bless, Nathan
  22. The shade of grey you refer to (I think it's more white...) came in the mosaic sets. They also dumped a load in the spring cleaning (which is where I got my 20 odd representatives. On the brown, new brown: The new brown is terrible as trees but looks all right as interiors and most importantly doesn't clash with the old colours. My biggest complaint about the grey colour change was not the obsolete nature of my collection, but that the two couldn't be used together. God Bless, Nathan
  23. Thanks for the review! I would have preferred lego to leave out the plane and sell the terminal by itself(much cheaper and with multiples could be a real building...). Personally I prefer the old lego planes, sure they were less realistic, but the same goes for the old 4 wide cars as oppossed to the new 6 wide ones. To me Lego will always be a caricature art and not a model. God Bless, Nathan
  24. Roughly how much of this set is bley? Thanks and God Bless, Nathan
  25. I think you pegged it... This set also seems to reveal the weakness of the oversized masks. Have you got a pic of Cat Woman's face? Thanks and God Bless, Nathan
