  1. 1877 Crusader's Cart Year: 1990 Elements: 56 Figs: 2 list Price: part of 3 set bonus pack for $10 (USD) Lugnet score (out of 100): 78 Review #: 8 Resources: -Comments left on Lugnet -Building instructions and Set inventory from Peeron The Thoughts of the exceedingly wise Norro: ...in under a word per brick... Originally sold as part of the 1675 Bonus Pack this was a great set which came with some decent pare parts from 'lesser' themes. I can remember playing with this set for hours, it was only very rarely that the brave patrolling knights discovered the hidden forestman, and more often than not he still escaped in this high-speed getaway cart... Guest Minifig Comments: Years ago we flipped one of those lego coins ('lego' or #) and I lost and have been the one in the hidden compartment ever since... It is actually more spacious than you might think, has some ventilation and fits me 'snugly' when I lie flat. The only downside, and it's a major one, is that I'm down wind of that
  2. Before 2003 I had only ever encountered one set missing one piece in all my lego accumulation to that date... since then (leaving aside the colour change) I've had at least 10 sets with missing/broken parts. I would also describe the difficulty in reading the new instructions (colour wise) as a quality issue...better printing would help.. God Bless, Nathan

    Porphyrion

Thanks for posting this... I gotta admit I like the interior the best, I love the horizontal fence walkway and the control room... Though I must admit in space terms I don't get out much, so I not be judging this as harshly as more experienced observers... God Bless, Nathan
  4. missed this one... looks nice enough to go on the 'buy' list... God Bless, Nathan
  5. I went for 'be all' because on a lego scale anything on a raised baseplate with 4 sides is equivalent to the large castles that dominated my theme's realm... As I've maintained elsewhere I think the older Lego lines were designed to hint at more connected to the structure which you could then build... God Bless, Nathan
  6. Very nice, good to see a lot of thought put into a small aspect of a model! God Bless, Nathan
  7. His work is all brilliant and I want to reach this level of Castle skill. I don't have much more to say as this MOC was discussed to death after winning on CC. God Bless, Nathan
  8. I love the gold and silver nuggets... success at last! God Bless, Nathan
  9. Also looking good. Would make a nice Lego poster with the right background! God Bless, Nathan
  10. Ohh, I like this! Battles are always hard to photograph and look better in person but the initial shot of this is very good... God Bless, Nathan
  11. Despite being wacky and tacky I really like this. It has the small, over loaded, over decorated look I would expect of a successful small raider. Thanks for posting this Phes! God Bless, Nathan
  12. Very nice! I like this a lot (and it's a different approach to the one I would have taken X-D). Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  13. The wall and furnace need work but the mixed bars and other little details are ingenious. Good work. God Bless, Nathan
  14. While space is well down my fav theme list... I do llike some of the lines, especially Ice Planet and M-Tron. I just got the Mega Core Magnetizer and it is one of the best things Lego ever made (and as a Castle fan it hurts me to say that!) Blacktron 2 was also nice, I don't have any of the older stuff so I can't comment. But then space took a nose dive (like just about everything else) with exploriens, UFO, insectoids, etc... My pet theory is that the decent designers went to work on the new (and brilliant) aquazone theme... God Bless, Nathan Oh and BTW the reason there is not more space discussion here is that (like everything else) it has its own sites..and EB is more general.
  15. That's a shame... but I would like to point out (as I've just added to the other thread) that the original models always impliied more than just themselves... lego londged for a bigger scale ;-) God Bless, Nathan

    Shipwreck

Excellent MOC! When I was younger I built shipwrecks almost exclusively for my pirates (I was always a sooldiers fan). This one is brilliant. It is very well thought out and I particularly like the lie of the ship and what it has done to the figs etc. Thanks for posting this and God Bless, Nathan
  17. I like this (though not as much as the previous version). I also think it should be a little more robust. One thing that all the original Lego models did was imply more just beyond...ie Lagoon Lockup is the tip of a harbour/fort even the ITP is only the early skeleton defences of the real port. This model in attempting to be self contained seems a little small (to me). My other suggestions would be a mor built up railing beside the cannon, and perhaps a different setting for the door. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  18. Hey Phes, Great work! This was top of my reply list before I went AWOL.. I like the expanded Armarda sentry feel to it, also the colour scheme and excellent fig choice. My complaints would centre around it's size, I prefer 'real' fig scale (ie the scale of most of my brickshelf gallery/less airy) as opposed to Lego fig scale (which I think your MOC fits quite closely with). That saidif this was a set I would be queing up at 4am to be first in for the lot... Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  19. A most impressive collection of soldiers...if I only had the money ; ) God Bless, Nathan
  20. Great work Jacob! This represents a huge improvement from your previous castles (which were also good!). It is nice to see you branch out into a less static castle model. The details in this are very nice, the rat-broom encounter and woodsmen ship being my faviourite... I also like the shared bridge concept itself. The scenery (always important) is also very skillfullyu implimented. All round a great MOC! God Bless, Nathan
  21. I've got to admit the wings aren't doing it for me... but an angle would be an almost impossible thing to capture in fig form... God Bless, Nathan
  22. I remeber that site from when it won Lugnet's cool lego site of the week... thanks for bringing it back to my attention! God Bless, Nathan
  23. I voted for 7410 Jungle River. I think lego should have done far more small scenery sets which are not only playable but also good for spare parts (except for the fig!). On another note, sorry for my long absence... drowning in work... God Bless, Nathan
  24. This is actually what I was suggesting (decal fences on the windows, but my over occupied brain and under speed typing fingers left it as only implied...) God Bless, Nathan
  25. I would imagine by piece this is worth far more than the conventional pattern... God Bless, Nathan
