  1. I voted for the Emperor's Stronghold because I don't think of the bridge as a fortress (great set though) and I have never built/owned the robbers retreat and so am unfamiliar with the charm-beyond-the-picture-factor it seems to posses... God Bless, Nathan
  2. Thanks for pointing these out! God Bless, Nathan
  3. I saw this on Lugnet a while ago. I like the way it illustrates just how varied Lego MOCs can be... God Bless, Nathan
  4. Number one...Always a purist. I guess I've always liked the 'caricature' nature of lego and if I wanted realism I would get those little die-cast hand painted things only kids play with ; ) God Bless, Nathan
  5. The spring clean sets proved (and Jake admitted) that lego make pieces first, ie everything blue for a month, than design sets from whats in the warehouse. This is why they occassionaly have a very successful sell out and simply announce they have no way of restocking, because they are working on a yellow output at the time. I think this bizzare production practice/unnecessary warehousing are a large cause of Lego's economic problems. (Note how he boldly expands the topic... ;-) ) God Bless all, Nathan
  6. Nice work! I like the sand green/black combo (though a non-green baseplate would help a lot) and the all round construction is also very nice. The interior is functional and simple and I like the contrasting colours used as well as the stair design. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  7. Nice review (as always) shame about the glue (originality is one of my strong points, along with prompt replies). God Bless, Nathan who finds to his advantage that all his Questions have been answered
  8. Hey all, A big hello from a long gone face! The forumns look great (before I go any further). When we last left our intrepid hero* : *work with me ; ) He was underway to Australia to attend university. But now He's not... To find out why you'll have to watch the prequel to my next adventure To cut a long, complicated, and relatively boring, story short: A combination of factors including: an illness in the family (now far less serious), a relocating of work (also fairly vital), and the distance effect (with the first two in mind) have prompted me to return to Ireland. I will be still be studying, but now at Queens University Belfast. I apologies for my long absence, the recent whip lash has left me not a little disorientsted and without much time for lego (less still for lego and the internet). I am now in the final throws of the move and shold be back regularly reading by next week, this is more of a 'heads up'. I will have caught up on the news and MOCs I missed by sometime next year : ) I missed you all a lot and it will be good to be back...again...again* *for those who have been around a while and know that of all the 'individual' (feel free to substitute your own adjective) people on the web I rank fairly highly... Please do flood me with news! God Bless as always, Nathan BTW the one positive is that in some of the time spent not posting and actually in a fixed abode I have produced my best ever MOC... to be posted in a while as I am going to try to learn to edit the pics and that could take time...
  9. Brisbane...(roughly ;-) ) God Bless, Nathan
  10. Hey all, I'll be offline until I can get all settled again. I'm leaving my beloved Irealand (the lego is almost all packed) and heading down to.... Australia! (And then there were 2!) I will of course remain an EBer even if I do fall under the rather long shadow of Mister Phes. All the best and God Bless, Nathan
  11. Good question! Some kind of tribal head wear? God Bless, Nathan
  12. The clam is very cool (even by itself) I would never have thought to build something like that, well done! God Bless, Nathan
  13. I always liked the blue... how do others feel about this? God Bless, Nathan
  14. Very nice! It retains a lot of the original Lego line which is interesting in a large MOC. Thanks for posting this and God Bless, Nathan
  15. Lego stayed away from ghosts/dragons and other non-realistic elements for a long time. You could argue that it was pirates which broke lego out of the historicaly accurate mode as they featured 'heroic' pirates a modern spin, whereas up until then castle had had several competing factions with nolabeled good or bad, town was town, and even space was just a series of competing forces... God Bless, Nathan
  16. Thanks for the review...thought I am dissapointed by the set. I wanted those printed new brown pieces and the figs but there is way too much bley/bionicle to make this worth the money. Thanks again and God Bless, Nathan
  17. That head does look good... Thanks for posting it Brickster! God Bless, Nathan
