  1. Why do so many people hate the Brickshow? So weird. Anyways my house hasn't shipped but it's also not out of stock in the US. So hopefully it ships tomorrow. I really have no patience for this stuff after dealing the shipping from Amazon which is 1-2 days free (1 day sometimes I guess 'cause I'm close to one of their shippers). Also the Simpsons House isn't a top seller so far. Maybe when non-VIPs can order it...
  2. Too violent for Lego. They won't do it. I'd also love a build that happens in the Empire Strikes Back Vader/Luke duel. Complete with Handless Luke with a screaming in pain face :P. Totally serious. It would be awesome. He's hanging there on that ledge with Vader overlooking. Won't happen :(.
  3. I'd rather just have some Jawas. Those d00ds who briefly scuffle with Obiwan just kind of die/get defeated.
  4. Astrology is like Mega Bloks.
  5. Oh yay merrily I think mine won't ship. Forever in process. XP
  6. I used to be into comics. Never a LOT because I was a poor kid. But enough. I got out of them primarily because honestly... most comics are bad. They're written bad. Some comics are GREAT and I love them. But like 98% are just... terrible. I feel like the issue with some of the current cartoons (straight to bluray) made by DC is that they're written as if they're comics, which again much of the time makes their writing freakin' terrible. Comic writers, some are awesome. Most are BAAAD! Like that recent Superman one where a group of anti-heroes starts killing people and everyone loves them. Without going into detail the motivations, logic and everything about that movie story wise was written horribly and in the most unbelievable manner possible. (not say they're all bad, I've loved a few, but geeze get some real writers for other ones). I'd get back into comics if they weren't so hit and miss. Feels like I waste so much money on so many misses. I mean like all the Spiderman "you're no longer married" things... or the fact that they wont' allow ANYONE to marry now. Geeze there's so many terrible things going on in comics lol.
  7. No. I'm sure a few people in the world do this but just... generally no. There's no real defense for the prequels. They're just not well made movies. Lucas didn't have a filter and went unchallenged which made him do worse. There are opinions, and then there's just wrong opinions lol. I tried for like a decade to like the movies, find some redeemable quality that makes them worth it... but I eventually gave up. People aren't jumping on a hate bandwagon to fit in. These movies are very much not as good. I won't say they're terrible or anything. It's just comparing them to the original trilogy is tough... since they're so much worse. :P http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/star-wars/ Red Letter Media does an incredibly good job at explaining why the prequels suck. I'd highly recommend watching his Star Wars stuff even if you like the prequels because they're funny too.
  8. Even as a kid I never did this stuff. Used toys to fuel my imagination and just imagined things.
  9. I'm using real world logic here. It's completely true. Venom is a murderer. Deadpool too. If they were around for reals we'd hunt them the heck down unlike the comics where for no good reason they tolerate them. "Oh you helped save the world so we'll ignore you killing all those innocent victims".... I consider true anti-heroes to do stuff that's more.. controversial. Like Wolverine kills but he doesn't tend to kill innocent people (I can't think of a time he did it knowingly and on purpose). He kills people who try to kill him and stuff. Venom has killed innocent people. Anti-hero? He's a murderer. :P Loki is a flat out murderer too. Killing people casually who don't try to hurt him and don't really have anything to do with anything.
  10. I feel like we're getting a bit screwed sometimes because of the cost of new molds. IMO all humanoid figures, big ones like the hulk or small, should have at LEAST the same amount of articulation as a normal minifigure. Normal minifigures already have pretty bad articulation. It's annoying when others have less. The Hulk and similar figures not having articulation in the head and legs are just terrible IMO. The small legs having none is just bad too. My dream "small" minifigure would have too many new parts so Lego would never do it. Articulated Legs, 1 plate taller than the current small legs to make sitting not look stupid. To make up for the tallness the body is 1 plate smaller too. The arms also! The hands and head are the same size. No sacrifice to articulation and IMO it would be pretty awesome. The only problem I foresee would be that some chest things would look big on the small guys, but hey, they're kids (usually) so who cares? :P Buuut that would require 2x new arms, 1x new body, 1x new legs (made up of 3 molds) which would mean Lego wouldn't consider it. Heck, Friends legs can't articulate... which is frankly pathetic. I feel like Lego is a quality product but their new molds aren't always quality because they won't go any farther than they absolutely have to.
  11. That's pretty much the longest review ever. I skimmed. I do find it annoying how they went cheap with Marge and didn't use the new molding technique to give her shoes.
  12. Which long hair are you talking about? I hope it's not this one: This one is the ugliest hair in the world. I've always avoided sets with it (especially on Luke).
  13. Who defends Loki? They're crazy. Even before he found out he was an ice d00d he caused the death of some Asgardian guards with that "prank". You can't casually kill some people and remain a goodguy.
  14. Those minifigures... Dear god...
  15. Wat? Wonder Woman, in the comics, was designed as a "hot babe". That's basically all she was for a long time. Heck, her weakness was being tied up and dominated, dominatrix style! Then just look at what she wears most of the time... Wonder Woman's issue is that even after getting past those original designs, her stories just aren't that good. Wonder Woman is the only thing memorable about Wonder Woman's comics. Only comic fans know her enemies for instance. Superman has Lex. Batman has the Joker. Both of them have a lot more memorable characters. Wonder Woman according to the casual observer and even lots of comic fans has... what? The whole universe around her is just not that well written. The character is unrelatable (she's an AMAZON which is hard for anyone to relate to). The problem they're probably having is basically... everything. And yes, she was designed to be a "hot babe" which kind of alienates her to a lot of the female population :P. Wonder Woman needs a great writer, an open minded take on her story and universe (without turning her Kryptonian essentially making her Supergirl...) and just needs a complete makeover before being presented to the general populace.
  16. An extra year is good if they spend it wisely. I hope Star Wars does this :P. I still think they're rushing the whole thing. It'll be a movie with nobody having any development. Avengers wouldn't have worked nearly as well if all but one of the previous movies weren't made. Buuut we'll see... in 2016. :P
  17. I hate it when Stan Lee appears in things. He adds nothing but a pointless cameo by a d00d who takes far too much credit for stuff he almost never has anything to do with. He's a figurehead and salesman who convinced everyone he's amazing but if you look at what he's actually done you'll realize he didn't do most of it and what he did often sucked (really, comics from way back then were freakin' terrible).
  18. As someone who doesn't buy Friends I didn't realize the legs were a single piece. That's freakin' terrible.
  19. I don't think it's limited. They might have a limited stock right now but I figure they'll be making this set for at least a year. Then decide if Lego Simpsons failed or not (or decide earlier if it fails badly) to see if they want to continue making it.
  20. Still waiting on those photos ;). If I were to nitpick... keep in mind these are great and I nitpick everything... The Rhino is the best one so far. I'd blame the paint. It's got a smooth paint texture and isn't as shiny. The Red Hulk and Thing look shinier than usual. Also what method do you use? How the crap did you make these? I always feel that the best custom minifigures likes like never reveal how they're made. :P
  21. Well the website isn't letting you buy 2 anymore. I was considering buying 2 all day. Now I'm limited to 1. Don't really want just one :P. Can I buy 1 twice or would Lego cancel an order?
  22. When I was a poor student I focused almost entirely on Castle. Later I switched to Super Heroes and Ninja Turtles. Now since I have some money I'm most everything...
  23. I haven't let myself buy it yet. I really want to do a proper house without the missing rooms and stuff, but minifigure scaling a house is kind of difficult due to minifigure proportions being short and stubby and the poor definitions (and lack of sticking to them) in the Simpson's house schematics. I mean, in order to have the rooms the right size and throw in the missing rooms (like that stuff above the garage) AND be able to fit two cars in the garage and stuff... it would literally make this house like 150-200% the size. Which would be too big for the much shorter minifigures. Their house is like the Tardis. It's often portrayed pretty small when they're outside of it. But then when they're inside of it there's suddenly bigger rooms and some vanish and reappear as the writers see fit. :P It's a difficult house to duplicate properly. I'd need to buy two of them too.
  24. You're crazy. For one, TABA isn't even out yet. :P
