Since I am a real DisneyTM fan I am very pleasee by this news. A very wise move from Eurobricks. I mean, besides Mickey Mouse, DisneyTM also owns Marvel, Star Wars, POTC - a lot of licences turned into LEGO themes. Just the other day I stumbled upon a site that I am thinking of joining as well: Looney Bricks. I read somewhere this has to do with a rumour that both Warner and DisneyTM are interested in strengthening their hold on the toy market and are in a bidding race for buying TLG.

Very nice but ehhh I got this tick where I hate to see tiles, plates and bricks not properly pushed in or fully clutching. Probably just me.

Why do you think there will be a sequel? The mixer could be seen as the sequel to the Grand Carousel from 2009. I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you...

I agree. Also, a set looks kind of dead on a non-lego underground, however attrative the other material may be (such as shown on the Castle). Somehow, when sets are interconnected with lego roads, pavements, trees and other props, it all just comes alive and really works as a statement of artistry.

I'm four years down the line with a city layout with trains. It's relatively small but still incredibly expensive. I started with scenery from traditional mode railway materials but soon decided it looks much better IMO all LEGO built. My setup is now almost finished but it will continue to evolve after that to incorporate new sets and put in storage some old ones. One day, when the kids move out, I will use a much larger room in the house to become the LEGO room. I must point out that for me the core interest is the city / landscape layout and that the trains are secondary. Maybe the other way round one would be more inclined to use non-LEGO materials.

What I think really sets the he Simpsons house apart (and the shop as well) is the really fun cartoon style of the exterior and the fantastic interior details. Although they are targeted at AFOLs actually they are really fun playsets for kids. Like a really fun dolls house with fantastic characters. In fact, my 2 daughters (7 and 9) like the Simpsons because of the LEGO sets. They had never seen the tv show before. But the Simpsons house set was simply amazing and I am pretty sure the shop will be too!

I always find A-Tembo to be the cheapest but they don't always have the cheapest prices. Brickshop I find a bit crafty. They say they give 15% discount but that's often on a price that is higher than the RRP. Another example: they were offering 15 % on pre-order of Elves sets. Now the price is the LEGO RRP. A-Tembo has the sets on the shelves with a standard 20% discount. Worse still, exclusive sets will often be more expensive at Brickshop than their price at LEGO S@H. And then you should't forget that S@H offers a standard 5% discount if you are a VIP member.

If that's so then the Slave 1 = $216 incl taxes which is almost the same as the price in Europe. You need to be a bit more specific about what you are comparing. The RRP is 199 euros in Holland and that is the price if your order at the Dutch S&H. The price at Brickshop.nl is indeed 179,95.

I caved and ordered a couple of days ago the Easter set. Gosh darn it! Don't want to miss it and sure double VIP points is nice but actually getting the set you want is nicer. Also did a PAB oder to make up for the shipping. Still on the list are upcoming ideas sets: Doctor who/Wally/Big Bang Theory. The rest like Elves, City tram and Scooby doo can buy cheaper in the stores (15-20% cheaper than S@H)

Here here! Profit is a measure of success and an important condition for continuity. And who doesn't want TLG to be succesful and succeed? The market (includng us) will soon emough tell them if they stop liking their products. Just hoping that TLG in those situations knows how to interpret the signals.

The front sells is indeed and is instantly recognisable. I don't see the beemer in the rest of it though, but then it is difficult at that scale.

As interesting as this Hasbro Transformers vs Lego discussion is we are getting a bit off topic here IMO...

Fair point,to show appreciation to the reviewer by commenting. Also: is it not so that in many cases the Academy reviewer gets the set early from TLG? I am thinking of the Modulars, CMF and some other exclusives. What happens to the set when it is finished? Does the reviewer keep it? That should also be some kind of incentive. I know - the value of the set far from equals the value of the time and materials put into the review but it's somethng. And.... You get it before the rest of the world does. It would also mean that TLG sees the value of a good review by a Eurobricks reviewer.

I don't like video reviews, always skip them. Enjoy a good read with some photos. Also because I like to speed through bits I am less interested in and I prefer to view photos of sets than moving images.

You're parially right. A business man will rationally look at what creates value and that is necessary if TLG is to make a healthy profit and continue to survive. But (supervisoy) board members with off-spring family members (among others) can keep an eye out for the soul and cores values of the company.

This hasn't been discussed here yet as far as I know... But... OMG, these new Star Wars dolls are appalling in my IMO. At least they now have us AFOLs to carry them over until they learn (again). Sorry, I am exaggerating, it's just these figures are simply that wrong.
