LEGO Ultra Agents 2014
Maniac4Legos replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Actually I am still looking for some backstory to connect the two themes even vaguely. That would make me happy since Agents was one of my favorite themes in 2008 :) I would buy the van, the interception and maybe the smaller sets. But the van is something I'd like to experiment with and see all it's functions firsthand! I'd cut back on TLM sets in the summer wave but I'll have to cut back from first wave sets too... -
If Dino came back, TLG (The LEGO Group) would make it of their own liking, and not try to copy Jurassic Park. In LEGO's history, there have been five separate Dino themes. all of which apart from one another in terms of likeness: -Dino Island (part of Adventurers, 2000) -Dinosaurs (2001) -Jurassic Park (part of Studios, 2001) -Dino Attack / Dino 2010 (2005) -Dino (2012) No among these themes, only Dino Island had a massive number of sets. Most of the other themes had less than or about ten sets. Dino Island had about fourteen, most being small sets that were easy to build. The dinosaur-type theme is more and more rare as time draws on in terms of appearance, but also has differences of appeal. Most dinosaur themes involved the same theme of trapping the wild dinos; Dinosaurs was a constraction-based theme. Therefore the models would have relative types and capabilities. Between Dino Attack and Dino 2012, we had two helicopters with the same function of trapping a T-Rex and carrying it back to base. Only Dino Island, Jurassic Park (somewhat) and Dino 2012 had a base to bring the captured dinosaurs. Dino Island and Dino 2012 shared a airplane type vehicle that caught flying dinosaurs. I'm pretty sure whatever most dino themes tried to do, Dino Island made something equivalent of it. Therefore I consider Dino Island the beginning but the height of dinosaur themes and shows the most that a dino theme is capable of, but the future themes didn't always draw upon. In short, I wouldn't expect LEGO to make a dinosaur theme in the near or the far future, since the gap between dino themes becomes longer and longer per theme produced. They don't seem to have the same merit that they used to in the modern world, compared to tons of other themes. Play well, Maniac4Bricks :)

LEGO Simpsons Episode release theories?
Maniac4Legos replied to Maniac4Legos's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Thank you for the information about it's release date, as well as Cult_Of_Skaro 's input. I was not aware of the season release rate but that is good to know for me so I can feel secure about when to expect the DVD release, if outside of the season box. The Joker1 , I'm not sure if I can agree with that but I would like to expect that. Considering the recent LEGO releases of TV spots (such as but not limited to, The Empire Strikes Out, Batman: The Movie and The Yoda Chronicles), I would expect the "Brick Like Me" episode to be an independent release with the only feature on the DVD to be that episode. I would like to hope for a few other episodes, and that price seems a little low, but I'm still trying to be familiar with currency conversions, sorry. I would expect it to cost about $10-$15 USD. Thank you all so far for your contributions! :) Play well, Maniac4Bricks :) -
Hello everyone, I've thought about the LEGO Simpsons episode in relation to other LEGO licensed releases to DVD and Blu-Ray, and I wanted to start an open discussion about some of the questions below: 1. How will the LEGO Simpsons episode "Brick Like Me" be released? Would it be with the Season box set, or an independent release for LEGO fans? 2. When can we expect it released? 3. If it was an independent release, what type of exclusive minifigure could we expect with it? Although I have no information about its release, I created this topic to offer up predictions and possibilities for what the future may hold. Please be respectful to all user's comments; everyone's opinion is welcome and if questioned must not be done in a harmful way. In my opinion, I hope it's a separate release since LEGO fans may be less willing to buy an expensive box set for just one episode's worth (unless they like the Simpsons or have already bought it on iTunes for $2.99). If it has an exclusive figure, I wouldn't imagine LEGO making a new Simpsons mold for a figure. They typically create a variation of an existing figure for these DVD/Blu-Ray releases. I predict it would be a variation of Homer or Bart, never made before but changed by color or printing. For example, Bart in his original clothes from the original Simpsons shows when he had a blue shirt and blue shorts. Or maybe Homer in one of thousands of outfits he's worn before. Play well, Maniac4Bricks :)

What Lego-related thing did you do today?
Maniac4Legos replied to Savage Oppress's topic in Community
I did a bunch of LEGO related things today, and still doing right now! I made a few minifigure reviews for Simpsons figures - Mr. Burns and Ralph Wiggum so far. (I have them all but I make independent reviews of each figure before making a series review) I watched a review by Just2Good and commented happily :) I appreciate his reviews. I also watched some reviews by JangBricks about summer City sets. I recorded a few videos of my custom minifigures and took photos of them as well. It's been nice sharing this information so far but I must resume my LEGO activity. Take you all later! :) Play well, Maniac4Bricks :) -
Occasionally I do swoosh sets when reviewing or testing their structure and fragility :) I can't name the most swooshable set or model, since I am not familiar with many plane or ship models that I recently used for swooshing. Sorry. I could name the worst in my experience which is the Republic Cruiser, set 7665. Since it's so large, you have to hold it from the bottom with two hands and in hand to hold spots. The mid-section is good for handle but the model is too large even for an AFOL like me to swoosh around. Oh well. Take care, Maniac4Bricks :)

Do you build with LEGO while using the bathroom?
Maniac4Legos replied to legoman19892's topic in Community
This seems like a personal yet hilarious question. Simply, I do not build with LEGO in the bathroom, and I can simply explain why. -What if the LEGO get filthy? -Who can concentrate with building while in the bathroom? -Where do you build while using the bathroom? I'd rather not get answers for these questions, they are rhetorical. Have a good day Maniac4Bricks :) -

A bag like the Friends pieces right? I call it the unique molds bag. Or like the hood for Wyldstyle? -

Excellent finds, especially so early! IO saw Groove Bricks reported about this too but you're always one step ahead of the LEGO pack ;) Congrats buddy, soaring ever higher! I know you won't tell me the Arctic set yet, but I'm guessing snowmobile? How in the name of LEGO did you get these so early at Toys r Us? You're honestly Just2lucky!!! I should move to Florida! I wanted to buy some and surprise YOU for once with the reviews or just any video, but alas, I cannot....oh well, keep doing what you're doing! -
Wow I'm very sorry to hear that happen to you. The headlight stealing is very wrong but so is the Minifigures. One time I bought a Ninjago set that I knew was tampered but it was also half off. I thought pieces or figures would be missing. I was lucky to find that everything from bags to stickers was intact! I feel very grateful for this find since I recognize others are not so lucky. Take care and hope that you can get the figures somehow. :) On most boxes I would agree with you. However there are some boxes that can easily be torn open despite tape. The $20 boxes for lego sets especially super heroes can be simply peeled back. I've seen in with the side popping out in my target store. Other smaller boxes typically have finger punch sections. These are perforated to allow kids to open them easily. I've seen that happen in my local target and toys r us stores. Usually opened packs are pushed behind shelves. If you ask for purchasing an opened pack they could sell it to you if mostly intact. I'd imagine some stores wouldn't sell them or would send them back to where they came from.

Who have you banned from looking at/touching/playing with your LEGO
Maniac4Legos replied to legoman19892's topic in Community
I banned no one. Anyone is allowed to build and play with my LEGO collection even if it's broken by accident. And trust me three have a few times where others would accidentally break a model but I knew I could easily fix it :)- 64 replies

Favorite childhood theme?
Maniac4Legos replied to InvincibleEagle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Mine would probably be Star Wars. When it first came out as LEGO sets I had a blast building the models. I was also excited to make my own creations and scenes based in the characters. It was my jumpstart into LEGO system after playing with DUPLO. -
Very interesting! Great find!

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Maniac4Legos replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I found images of the Anakin's Jedi Intercepter on the Toys R Us. Sorry I cannot post on here since I have trouble uploading photos. *sigh* sorry everyone. I cannot enter this contest. For multiple reasons. 1. I don't have the time to devote to this contest. I cannot think of a house to make in LDD and make it in time for the contest before the deadline. I have too much going on in my life to focus on this contest, let alone an idea for the entry. And all that's going on is not good either. 2. I cannot accept the prizes if I entered and won. As awesome as it would be to win the prizes, I am not in a position to have them mailed to me, or store them in my LEGO room. I am going through many projects in organizing my LEGO so I do not have time nor space for the contest. 3. I know that if I were to enter the contest, my chances if winning are slim to none. I am not an advanced builder, in real LEGO or computer generated LEGO. I am a builder but my models are hardly impressive. Most of my models are small and hardly interesting. Building a house would not provide any skill of my own. I have not tried advanced building techniques to make my model impressive. Being a subordinate on several levels, my entry to this contest could not be made in time, with style and originality and without mail restrictions. Sorry if it sounds like a sob story but I'm not having a good day. How bad? I almost choked on part of my lunch while typing this post. :( I hope the rest who enter do their best. I wish you all to have a good day despite mine. I don't care. I'd rather see the rest of you happy even if I suffer alone.

Oh! My apologies. I didn't look too closely to tell the difference. Thank you!

Right in DUPLO. I was only thinking of system (regular LEGO). In that case we can also include tigers, giraffes, and other types of dinosaurs, bears, crocodile and pandas. First of all, I also remembered ostriches from Prince of Persia (1 set only). Also snakes from adventurers and scorpions. Second, shells could be considered animals since they are made for mollusks. You can consider shells for things such as oysters, clams and the like. Animals usually make shells (correct me if wrong). We need a biologist to determine that.

There have been no goats unless you count Fab upland characters (more human than animal though). Cows in black/white and brown. Used in city farm sets and castle sets (the market set specifically for castle) Did you get pigs? Did you get the cats? White, black, orange, grey. Orange and grey in two to three types. White and black are the small forms seen in Studios sets. T-Rex from Dino Island and Studios. Pteradons from Studios and Dino Island. Another version in Dinos. A third in Dino Attack. More in Dinos and Dino Attack. Red octopus from pirates

I fully understand this opinion from LEGO. But I have to argue that they made The Hobbit and Lord of a The Rings sets with references to alcohol. Barrel Escape and An Unexpected Gathering for examples by using kegs suggested for beer. If I'm wrong correct me. I do not know much about LOTR so I am subject to being wrong. Also I am used to being proven wrong by surprise but do it kindly so I am not deeply offended. Congratulations for your openings! I was happy to watch! I'm looking forward to close up shots for flickr of these figures if you plan to do them. I wanna see the tail! Irrelevant thought. The tail could be a great reuse if LEGO made a tail-related animal costume for future CMF's or Nightcrawler for an X-Men set. Calling either now! Dibs! Haha

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
Maniac4Legos replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
Hello! I would like to keep the rules and guidelines in a safe place and an easy place to read whilst I review sets on Eurobricks. Is there a version of the guidelines and rules that can be printer friendly and not take countless amounts of pages to print? Thank you for the replies!
