  1. Not sure if thats your problem (I didn't quite understand it) : Are you saying the switching lever is getting out of its 'slot' in the drive ring? If so,take a look at the 8043 gearbox - there is a simple technic to prevent this from happening. It can be also seen in this image:
  2. Makorol, would you mind if I use your concept of the container module (and the arm following it) ? I'm planning to build something like this but making it 100% mechanical (no NXT) and also using the Driving Ring instead of a switch for the direction changing mechanism... Great work, btw
  3. Thank you. As the video description suggest, the app is available to anybody who wants to use it. Just PM me on youtube and i'll send it
  4. Very nice! any close up picks for how it works?
  5. I made the app, and its not using the camera, its using the proximity sensor.
  6. I have an old Nokia lying around somewhere
  7. When you put your phone next to your ear,the screen turns off (when making a call) so you won't accidently hang up the call with your ear or something.
  8. Thank you! The app is programmed in Java for android. The algorithm itself isn't very complicated, but required some tweaking to make it 100% accurate.
  9. Hello! I had this idea of making a ball counter for a long time, however,I don't own an NXT and neither have enough pieces (and the knowledge) to build a mechanical one (like Nico71's) So after some work I came out with this - I've built an app for my Nexus 4,which uses the phone's built in proximity sensor to detect proximity change. The app then adds one to the ball counter, and waits 700ms before measuring again (because of the lever sometimes jumping a little after it moves) The first prototype was a rail going in front of the proximity sensor,so every time a ball crosses it will block it. This, however, wasn't reliable at all because of the sensor's low refresh rate. So I built what you see in the video - now,a ball goes up in a threads lift, moving a lever which then blocks the proximity sensor. It's 100% accurate. Here's the video, thanks for watching!
  10. Pfff...This just shows me again that I'm the only one buying a single flagship set for around 280$ because of the stupid LEGO prices in my country & extremely high shipping costs...
  11. Not sure if it counts, but the 8043 gearbox and drivetrain is truly ingenious.
  12. Read here: http://www.technicbricks.com/2012/11/lego-power-functions-incompatibilities.html
  13. Great look! What are it's functions rather than the front winch?
  14. I can't buy it right now,not all of us have unlimited budget :D Whops Great! Thanks :)
  15. It's around 130 euros on BrickLink, but the shipping is another thing to consider when buying this because of the large, heavy box. Anyway back to the topic - so its safe to wait another month? it won't be discontinued by then?
  16. Hello I was planning to buy the 8110-1 in a month or so, but then I thought: Since this set is about 2 years old already, wouldn't it be discontinued by that time? Should I rush and buy it now or it still has more time? Thanks.
  17. Thanks! The accelerator is indeed a nice and simple module. with better gearing it can will launch much further. The only tricky thing about it is making the wheel the right distance from the track,so it will launch the balls properly.
  18. Hello! I completed my 3rd GBC layout. It has 4 modules: Accelerator,Mini Ferris Wheel, Up & Scissors lift It required all the pieces I have (and some improvising, like the long axle used in the Accelerator module because its motor's cable didn't make it to the battery) Anyway...Here's the video: Thanks for watching
  19. Email Lego, they will send you a new one.
  20. I Don't have enough LEGO to make the whole module be the same color (I only have the 8043 from Technic so only yellow & dark grey technic, and all the yellow bricks are used in another module,so I had to use something else that I have enough of)
  21. I agree, but this will be a part of a loop so I didn't want to make such a big holder
