  1. Thanks Yiharua, and thank you again for the help in testing
  2. Well I suggest you check this, as the module in the video and the module in LDD are the same.
  3. I don't suggest doing that. Speeding the GBC counter over 1bps (the GBC standard) will cause the counter to be inaccurate. The module comes with the gearing for ~1.03 bps which works perfectly (100% accuracy). I'm guessing that if you speed it up more than 1.1 it won't be accurate.
  4. Thats strange because Iv'e made a lot of testing with the LDD module, including building it a few times and also sending it to other people before the release so they can try it. Make sure you used enough tread links (40) and that the pins aren't touching the ground somehow (the chain is stretched)
  5. I'm guessing this is due to the pins on the chain touching the hooper. To fix this make sure the hooper's base (the balls input) isn't tilting forward and not touching the pins on the chain. Good luck!
  6. Thank you! Yes,the module in the video feeds itself but this is only to demonstrate it. Once I finish building all the modules for my new GBC loop,i'll connect them all together.
  7. After the success of my previous GBC Counter module, I decided to upgrade the app and also release it to the public along with a detailed tutorial for building your own GBC counter. How it works explained here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=83844 The app & module support the GBC standard of 1 bps. New features: -Balls per second display -The new app & module can handel more bps than the first version -GBC timer -Better design Tutorial download (includes a PDF file, LDD file and the app itself) http://www.mediafire.com/download/wmfxy3ny1rbdrtc/GBC_Counter_Tutorial.rar The video: Thanks for watching!
  8. Yes,GBC modules take TONS of tweaks to make them run well. Even tough it may be frustrating (and it is when a module fails), it worth it when you finish the module and see it work :) This module that you are commenting on for example (the marble pump v3) has a very simple mechanism - but it took A LOT of time and tons of troubleshooting to make it run well, and as you said: many times fixing one problem caused another...but with some experience you start expecting the problems and manage to avoid them.
  9. I agree, the prices for the GBC balls are pretty high, that's because Lego discontinued them. Luckily for me I got like 30 balls off of eBay when I started, cost me around 7$
  10. Hooray! another GBC builder! Subscribed to you. very nice modules!
  11. Basketballs: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=18197&colorID=4 Footballs: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=3223&colorID=1 Sets: You'll need both classic bricks & technic liftarms...I for example have only 1 technic set - the 8043,but I have lots of the "regular" Lego. I'll be making a GBC tutorial series soon which will include everything a new GBCer needs to know :)
  12. Saw this long ago but it's always fun to watch
  13. Might take a while as I'm working on my new GBC modules & loop, but I have it planned for this month. Hopefully i'll have the time.
  14. A GBC knowledge base could be very good. I'm currently working on a series of tutorials for making "your first GBC" - these will include common pieces used including the GBC balls, building a runway, handy mechanisms (output splitter, ball isolation etc) and some LDD files of GBC modules.
  15. NIce! But you have a small mistake, you wrote: While there are 6 M-Motors and 2 L Motors
  16. No :/ There is a website called http://www.greatballcontraption.com/,but it's very old and outdated. There is no GBC forum and since Technic is the closest to GBC,I post it here..
  17. The problem isn't just the shipping, its also the taxes. For example, shipping the 8110 from Holland to IL is around 40-60$ (due to the very large & heavy box),but the taxes are extra 18% on the base price + shipping. and if the order exceeds 300$,there are even more taxes rather than just 18%. In this situation it has become impossible for me to buy Lego. While I do have the money,I'm not willing to pay 530$ on a single Lego set,it's crazy. I contacted Lego and they said that they can't do anything about it.
  18. Hi! I made a new GBC module. This one wasn't aimed to be complex or very clever - It was aimed to be simple and easy to operate. I built it because many people on youtube asked me for a simple, not motorized GBC module, and only uses common Lego pieces. It's very fun to operate as you only need to press a button and the ball elevates, unlike previous marble pumps which were hard to operate by hand. I think that the video & description provide enough info...so...here's the video (there is also a LDD file in the description)
  19. In Israel the 8110 set (200$) costs 534$ (1899 ILS) minimum and the newer 9398 (200$ as well) costs 520$... So I consider the Europeans lucky. This is what happens when Lego has only one importer and this importer does whatever it wants.
  20. My new GBC Module(s). These are actually two modules working together, both using the same motor. The tricky part was to sync everything up - making the motor switch the cart direction just when it reaches it's extreme. Everything stays in sync without any drift (tested for ~2 hours, stays in perfect sync) The motor always spins in the same direction. Here's the video Thanks for watching! (It's very hard to name GBC modules )
  21. 8455...Tons of pneumatics! Too bad it costs like 300$ on eBay right now..
