New LEGO Fantasy Theme -- A MOC Series
Doctor_ocks replied to Nuju Metru's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
These really are great. I'd buy the complete line! -
Right and that's what separates it from the action figures no? That's how I understood it. And I agree, they could include a small build (like the Uruk polybag) and fix that problem. Except for the Simpsons.
-
I'll save you the trouble of reading through 150 pages to find the 29 times it's been discussed - basically it's a contract issue where they can't compete with in the action figure market or something like that. We all agree though that it would be awesome.

I love this movie. I agree that seeing any of this in Lego form would be awesome. If I were talented enough, I'd try to make the Space Station.

Yeah the minifig really shines in this moc!

I'm not a train expert, but I just took my kids to see 814 at a museum the other day...is this basically the same train? I think 814 was converted from steam though.

Some of us are just fanboys...and I include myself in that. Yes I love the books and if I compare the Hobbit films to the LOTR films, I think I can objectively say that the LOTR films are better movies. However, I just love this franchise and am happy to overlook some of the sillier things because I get to see MIDDLE EARTH ON THE BIG SCREEN. Am I super happy with the most recent Lego sets? Not really, but it beats trying to pick which Lego City female hair piece looks the most like an elf to create my Middle Earth minifigs. Yeah I think this was more the idea
-
Yes I've often thought that.

Because we would have ended up with a more to scale model. I really like the molded Smaug, but I'd have preferred a brick built one - even if it were a UCS style $200-$300 model. My kids will like this one a lot though. Playability is much better with something like this. Yeah agreed.
-
Okay. I'll do all those things. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Is the Arkenstone just a Chima crystal?

Don't sweat it. Some folks forget that we're only discussing toys from a movie franchise.

Ooooooooooooooo sweet!

Lego 10039 Black Falcon's Castle--NIB

6074 was my first set! This makes me happy to see :) -
First time posting under pirates so hopefully this belongs here. Plus I figure no one is going to know ships like the boys and girls in the pirate forum. This is my first ship build so be gentle with me :) It started out life as the Lotr Pirate ship but I've always wanted a Fantasy Airship, so as this was the only ship I owned, it was vultured. So here's The Banty Rooster: Unloading some contraband. Interior shot with the deck removed from the port side showing the crew's quarters and cargo hold. Same but from the Starboard side. The stern. Note the Rooster "carved" into the wood :D And the "life boat" I'm calling a Cloud Cutter. Out flying around. And secured to the back of the ship. I haven't completed the "cabin/captains quarters" area yet as I'm not sure what I want to do. Anyway, have a look around my flickr stream and please give me some constructive criticism.

Oh that's lovely! Very well done.

Are you kidding? This entire thread is one long drone about things like the axe. That what it's for. Aren't there age restrictions on this forum?

The first encounter in Prancy Pony
Doctor_ocks replied to farkas1014's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Really beautiful scene. Note though that it's the Prancing Pony. -
I don't know what it is, but I really like those six wide stairs with the cheese slopes on the ends. Nice effect.
