Indeed, with some important characters only appearing in one set, sets which have been discounted for three years now. Not figures endlessly remade with small variations like SW or SH. The minifigs are very popular. That is why if someone lists a Samwise, Merry or Pippin for 15 Euro, it will be bought very quickly. As people know there are others willing to pay 30 Euro.

Who led you to believe that?

It wouldn't surprise me at all. They were flying off the shelves last time I was in the Lego store. I reckon half of all 12 and under boys in the store were buying NK sets. It looks like the new Ninjago to me. I'm waiting for 1/3 off before buying though.

Is that a particular brand? I have never seen a toucan sticker on a banana. -
Loads of wonderful parts though.

I've seen them quite a few times on bricklink, along with similar torsos and heads. -

Chrome parts that are not normally chrome are most frequently fake. Quite a few sellers make their own and the more honest at least say they are not chromed by Lego. But as soon as they get into the supply chain ...

Yes :-) It's probably because it is not lego system that is the problem with it for many.
-
Also lego is really a building toy that has minifigures, rather than a minifigure company (although some may disagree!) To produce loads of essentially minifigure only sets would take away production from the other sets where minfiigures are included, thus meaning less minifigures in other ranges.

The problem with these is what is in it for new collectors? No Bart, no Homer, etc. In the same way Batman keeps reappearing, the Simpsons family will need to be there for new collectors to have some interest in them.

It is not mostly profit. For 2015, revenue was 35.8bn krone and net profits 9.2bn krone. So only about 25% of what you pay is profit.

Yes it did deserve it. It sold in huge numbers. It's funny you say Frozen didn't deserve to be there, but surprised that minecraft is not on there. Minecraft is a similar brand. Huge following, hugely hyped, and possibly a bit past it these days with the original fans but still a hit with new ones.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

Why would Woody need a new hat? They could reuse the existing cowboy hat. That would be the purist thing to do, like using regular heads.- 4,155 replies

You can use bricklink and just not open your store. You don't have to sell.

Need some advice on how to collect/invest in LEGO
MAB replied to gundamz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
^I agree with this. Even if the occasional one does sell, it is not the price sold that matters so much as the volume of sales. To sell a large set, you must nearly always be cheapest in your region. Buyers take into account postage for large sets (hence region) and they tend to buy just the set, not lots of items (hence needing to be cheapest rather than having large inventory but expensive). A set selling 10 per month is bad, 10 per six months is terrible if you want liquidity. When you remember that there are still many people that haven't listed them yet, some sets have many years worth of stock stashed away. -

You are late to the party. There have been so many articles on investment over the past 18 months that competition is now massively increased. You have to go with gut instinct when it comes to what to buy. 'Used' will always be second rate to sealed. They used to command high prices when sealed was not available. But now sealed sets are available on the secondary market for most sets, often in large numbers, this will effect used prices. If you want to invest, don't open. -
New Lego.com Shop Customer - Orders cancelled

It is very rare that resellers purchase the entire stock of a set. Most sets are available at retail for regular consumers for a reasonable amount of time. If you aren't going to sell , it is better if prices drop. That way, you can buy more of what you enjoy for the same money. -

I'd go for black RIT dye, dip the stalks for 15 seconds and see if the green is dark enough. -
They are selling very well. I cannot see this series topping a worst set / series league.
