  1. I notice that CMF torsos are starting to appear under the 76382 torso listing: Although obviously don't get your hopes up that they will ever be available based on past ones. It is interesting though that they are appearing as 76382 (and have the neck print) and not 88585 (without neck print) which is where most CMF torsos appear. I wonder if this is an indication that these ones are printed in a different factory.
  2. How wide are your buildings? And what is the problem you are having? Too hard to break apart or not strong enough? For my break layers on anything up to 32 studs wide, I normally use on each corner and then usually two 1x2 plates at roughly 1/3 and 2/3 the way along, with studless tiles covering the rest. I find that is enough to align and keep the build strong, but makes it easy to remove the layers of the build.
  3. Out of interest, what qualifies as a Space setting? If a theme is based on Mars or the Moon, for example, is that Space? After all, they are both locations. To me, Nexo Knights was more techno knights than space knights, but if they had travelled to another planet and built Knighton there, would it be Space? If people travelled to Mars and built a life there, would that be Space? Are spacecrafts necessary for something to be Space?
  4. It is a shame that the mermaids never saw light of day, they could have had that as an extension of Elves. Although one thing he says in the CV: Some boardgames I helped launch included: LEGO Phineas and Ferb
  5. I don't know if that is where they originate, but for many years mine have been postmarked from Germany. Compare that to the number of $100+ sets they sell in a day and it is obvious why the bricks and pieces service doesn't get the attention we think it deserves.
  6. It is interesting your last word is 'past'. If someone has been an AFOL for a long time and always bought what they wanted, they don't have much use for resellers. But imagine a LOTR fan, or Indy fan, or Ghostbusters fan that wants to create MOCs but they weren't into LEGO at the time of release. They have a choice of using official figures and parts, or not. If they decide to go for the official parts, they can buy second hand which can mean lesser condition or go for new from a reseller. There are many of these new fans joining the community and resellers provide a valuable resource for them, of course at profit for the seller.
  7. Very nice, this is one of those that it is worth looking at the larger image to see all the details. Is there are Part 1? Or does that get built by someone else.
  8. In case anyone is wondering, the rumour is here: https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-the-simpsons-rumor-from-2019-d23-expo/ It could happen, with the Disney / Fox buyout. And yes, I'd imagine they would start again in terms of issuing characters, so expect loads more of the Simpsons family before getting more niche characters. Sets wouldn't sell if they missed out the core characters and expected people to have them from years back.
  9. I dare you to add Space + Castle = ...?
  10. OK, so rephrase the hypothetical question. If you had any opened set that would easily sell for $100 on the open market, but you paid only $10 for it originally and no longer want it. Would you sell it for $20 to someone else? If you did how would you feel if they then sold it for it's then current value of $100? Would you be a scalper if instead of $20, you sold it for $100? For me, value is not what something cost. It is what something is worth. And it is worth what someone is willing to pay. So in the example above, if you sell for $20 then you have undervalued it. It doesn't matter than you made a profit on it compared to the original price you paid. It was worth $100 at the time you sold it.
  11. It is an interesting dilemma. Let's say the going rate for a new and sealed Spartan, for example, is about 15.00 Euro. So if you put one on eBay or bricklink at that price it would sell quite fast. If you had one or a load of them, would you sell them to someone else for say 6.00 Euro, a bit above the original price? How would you then feel if they sold them at the going rate? To me, selling things at a price that buyers are willing to pay is not scalping.
  12. It's a bit early to judge, episode 9 isn't even out yet! I also subscribe to the mantra of buy what you like, don't buy what you don't like. I have mainly OT sets as I enjoy those movies the most but also like the sets, but I have a few prequel sets too even though I'm not such a fan of them.
  13. It is lucky that they didn't call it Antarctic! Different place and all that. :-)
  14. They did have the instructions online for a while, but they have now removed them. It makes a nice workplace for a City, such as an architect's or printer's or designer's office.
  15. Yeah since it is an Inside Tour set, it is very rare. And when people do sell them, they often want a significant amount of money for them, as the tour costs a lot. So they often try to sell them at $2000-3000 USD.
  16. They did do national flags recently again, for the exclusive LEGO tour set: commemorating this event: They also did some Union Jack ones in the Big Bentley Bust Out set from CARS but that was 7-8 years ago now. I quite like the built flag poles with the flag element compared to the vintage molded flags and it would be great if they issued such a sticker sheet for more general use. I wonder if it would be a problem, causing complaints of why haven't you done MY country? Although there is always the non-purist route of printing your own stickers or using non-LEGO ones that fit. There are loads of LEGO sticker books produced, including a CITY one. I haven't checked the most recent one to see if they do such stickers in there. Normally they are figures and sets, but it would be great if a few of the pages contained stickers designed to fit on specific LEGO parts such as flags, triangle and circular road signs, street names for 1x4 tiles, etc.
  17. At some stage in probably the next 25 years there will be a Post Office, and that leak will have been right all along! There will be minor problem like a different set number and totally different design, but the idea was right after all. :-)
  18. I guess different people see different things. When I saw the Jungle sets, I saw updated Outback. When I saw Pharoah's Quest, I saw updated Adventurers. There are people that want Classic Castle or Classic Space to return. Getting old Classic Castle or Classic Space in terms of parts and build techniques and probably even colours is highly unlikely. However, given how long they have been away, I reckon many fans would be happy for a new theme to be as similar to the 20+ year old theme they are after as Jungle 2017 is to Outback. So if they did a new castle theme with a new sub-theme name, and used tan and dark tan for the builds instead of the yellow or old the greys and blacks of times gone by, or did a space explorer style theme in which the ships are not blue but grey, then I imagine many would be happy even if it is not an exact reboot. Aside from just buying the old sets, I think that is the most we can hope for when it comes to nostalgia - modern re-imaginings of what we want.
  19. It was not an attack, it was a genuine question. The newer theme might be called forest, but there is very little tree based parts in it and the style of sets (the location based scenery and the types of vehicles) and the associated play is very similar to those of Outback. They could have taken away the little greenery there is and replace it with a few tan plates and some shrubs and it would be even more similar. You could easily play out the same story lines with the two different themes. Which is why I wondered what it was your were looking for to return. Is it just the name that is important, or the now rather vintage style of the builds, or the colour schemes, ... something else?
  20. What is it about those themes that makes you want them to return? When I look at Outback, for example: There is a small car, which in my eyes is a similar set to these: There is a plane and some scenery, and another set with a river and a truck, both of which are similar to parts from this: There is small helicopter set, and another helicopter with a van, similar to this: Then there are other sets like this: These are all from the City Jungle theme from 2017. So to me it seems we have recently had a revival of Outback (and to some extent the rescue type themes) just brought up to date in terms of parts and build styles.
  21. Why are you calling me lazy? History books differ in what is reported, as there are often many different sources.
  22. There is a more active thread on bricks and pieces here, any updates as to when it starts working will probably be posted quicker on that one.
  23. One retail set we do know for sure is the limited edition crawler. LEGO advertised that as 20,000 copies only before it went on sale and so made the market go wild for it, essentially doubling in value on the day of purchase.
  24. Between Series 3 and 10 for me, but went with 3 as Series 10 is already through and my vote helps knock out Disney and TLM2.
