  1. You have probably lost imagination compared to when you were a child, both in thinking what something could be or used for but also in being critical in what you have built. As a kid I used to think some of my creations were great but if I looked back at them as an adult would probably think they are a bit crap.
  2. The exo-suit didn't sell that well though did it? Of course, it might do better now that there are more LEGO fans, but the original one had to have a long "decommissioning" phase that went on longer than LEGO implied. Bring them back is tricky - do they give exactly the same number and keep it in Ideas, or a new number in Ideas, or a new number outside of Ideas. A new number in Ideas would really annoy any collectors that have all the Ideas sets as they wold "need" the new one to remain complete even though they already have it. If outside of Ideas, I wonder what contract problems they may have over royalties, reissuing the same set under another guise. It would be great if they reissue the Saturn V, but this time include three named minifigures on a display stand, to make it stand out from the previous one.
  3. Not really. Here it is classic as in typical of its day, rather than outstanding or high quality.
  4. I do, if the ones that won't get made are the ones with new parts that are expensive for them to make. What would have been filler from series 20? I would have left out: breakdancer, martial arts boy, pirate girl and super warrior.
  5. In my view, no. I think we lost Space because of competing action based themes such as Ninjago sell better than Alien Conquest, Galaxy Squad, and so on. Kids have moved on from when Classic Space was futuristic and cool.
  6. They still have the same value as before. £5 voucher per £100 spent.
  7. This. If it is not in the order, you haven't got one. Better to cancel the order now than have to deal with receiving then arranging a return. Then wait for a new offer - the next double points, general promo at Christmas or next year's May 4th. If you can wait that long!
  8. Yes, and it is a bad sign when most of the other torso and minifigure parts from the same set(s) have been added. It is almost certainly a sign that the missing ones will not be added.
  9. Has it definitely been confirmed that the non-licensed S21 is only going to be 12 figures? I can understand a small run of a specific license but not the regular series. Bad move from LEGO if it is.
  10. They went out of stock quickly in the UK and also seem to have in the US. So I'd expect them to be reasonably expensive to buy on bricklink, at least as the boxed set.
  11. I take it the walls are just loads of these stacked on top of each other. Isn't the box a bit weak due to the relatively low clutch that these have compared to bricks.
  12. Yes earlier in the thread. Go up slightly from my post here. That GWP is the way profit is made on initial release. The GWP plus hoping it goes out of stock so people panic buy from a reseller for not much more than RRP. Of course, people may also wait until double points or 4th May promos. Or just time it right to get it just before retirement. Then there are people that will buy it, get the GWP and part it out. Quick sale of minifigures will get lots of value back, plus then the slower sale of other parts. The figures, especially the new ones, will be popular for those not wanting the full set.
  13. Possibly. I think they have already turned off the people that were into the traditional winter village with the more fantasy based sets. If they went back to more traditional now, there is no longer the feel that you need them all. So even though some people may pick up future ones if they are traditional, the consistency of the theme is lost. If a future one is OK but not great, if a collector had them all then they might still buy it just because. But now, if they have skipped some due to changing focus of the theme, they might skip that one too.
  14. I haven't a clue about the source material, but they look a nice group. I have a couple of suggestions though. The torso on this one looks really dated now. Newer figures tend to have black outlines between colours. So maybe go for a torso like one of these instead, to keep them a little more up to date. These have yellow skin on the torsos: and it makes them look a bit unprofessional. Going for a torso with either fleshie or no skin or an undershirt showing would look better, for example: Of course as I don't know the source material, those torsos could have been chosen for a specific feature, but the suggestions I made are to avoid the common traps that make figures look a little less than perfect.
  15. So what? I can make up different statistics and use them as circumstantial evidence. LEGO is trying out 18+ sets and if they work (as in sell well) they will continue doing them. The company won't care if you think there are too many. If 9 out of 10 of your untested evidence are still buying 12/14/16 sets then LEGO won't care, they are still selling items across their product range. I still buy younger sets as I want figs or parts in them. I don't necessarily build and play with them. in some cases the 18+ over something different. I'm some cases they offer something similar to 16/14 sets but are badged to try out if they sell better as 18 rather than 16/14. If you don't like them, don't buy them to get your anti 18+ sets views to LEGO.
  16. No, wrong. Teens will enjoy them. The point is that the 18+ badge won't put teens off but a 12+ / 16+ badge does put (some) adults off. As already said, it is marketing.
  17. Thanks for both the news and the source.
  18. Where is that information from? Sounds great if true!
  19. You'll also have to be careful of the surface you print on. Prints on different white papers will appear different. I think the only thing you can do is test, test, test until you are close enough.
  20. On the roof, is that what Grima looks like with his happy face on?
  21. Review: 11/10. This is possibly the best review I've ever read. The photos of the minifigs cover all necessary angles. The layout of the pieces per bag is really useful. Excellent photography throughout. The words are descriptive enough without being an overly long essay. Thanks! And what a great set.
  22. Doing Vader now makes perfect sense to me as it will help sell the first series. LEGO has messed up in the past missing out important characters and alongside Boba Fett and the Stormtrooper, Vader's makes up the trinity of iconic helmets from the OT. Now we know LEGO are doing Vader, fans waiting to know this will purchase the others. The US exclusive Vader bust is not part of this series.
  23. There has been rumours / speculation ever since we knew about Series 2! Not leaks though. Just speculation.
