If they had appeared in official sets, there would almost certainly be sellers with them to sell on bricklink.

They could probably fill an entire CMF series with the McQuarrie concept art. But then people would be scratching their heads thinking what is this, or this is a really bad attempt to make < insert character here >.

Has there been too much Brand Collaborations with the LEGO Group?

There were also the KK2 knights given out with Nestle Cereals. -
Has there been too much Brand Collaborations with the LEGO Group?
MAB replied to JintaiZ's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I remember the days LEGO was on cereal boxes, collect a certain number of tokens and send off for a free set. Given the amount of stores that LEGO are opening in China, I think they intend to let Chinese people do a lot more than look at it. -

I was begin serious, they are only cheap because they steal. If that is what you prefer, then go for it. -
Should lego do Star Trek or just Star Wars
MAB replied to Jimalaya's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I had an R2-D2 soap (but not on a rope). I loved it as a kid. No doubt some of the merchandising was bizarre and unnecessary but it was very experimental. They couldn't have known what would take off without trying. This has to be one of the weirdest I have ever seen, but this is worth a lot these days. -

Why is that a great example? They offer better value only because they steal. -
No Vader? No OT stormtroopers? To me, there are too many good guys in your list. A major problem with SW is that there are so many characters and thy will need to keep on putting the main cast in to sell any SW CMF to regular customers. Some of those will necessarily duplicate what they have already done. For example, I already have the celebration Luke (and Han) These are still cheap and plentiful on bricklink and they cannot really do much to improve them. But then, just about every scene/outfit of Luke and Han has been done. And it's the same with most other important characters. So if they fill a CMF series up with the main (non-army builder) characters from PT, OT and ST, what is the point. It would impact on the sales of current sets to people new to LEGO SW, and wouldn't be that interesting to existing LEGO SW fans.

They did improve on some of those aspects later with UFO, Insectoids, LOM, Space Police 3, Alien Conquest and Galaxy Squad. To some, those themes don't exist specifically because they had new colours and designs, aliens and a bit of storyline.

I remember trying to line up the one for the Porsche, it was a real pain. Looking at BL, the person that submitted the image didn't fare any better!

Has there been too much Brand Collaborations with the LEGO Group?

LEGO is the minor partner in the Adidas collaboration. Adidas are doing 26 collaborations, and L is for LEGO is just one of them: https://www.adidas.co.uk/a-zx These are probably more for trainer collectors but combining two subjects where there are die-hard MIB collectors seems to lead to guaranteed success. -
I hadn't seen that, interesting post. I translated them using an alphabet sheet. I got a bit confused by the ending in Z for both, especially as I had to guess the birds letters first time around.

It has never been confirmed by LEGO though and of course they profit more from people buying sets for the figures rather than just buying single figures. SImilarly, they profit more by gluing magnets or going further and sticking metal bars through the magnet figures to stop them being used like minifigures. It has been widely speculated that it is due to Hasbro but I don't think anyone has ever shown any real evidence.

I guess it depends on the amount of decorated parts and the range of parts that need print. Friends had a sticker sheet, for example. I doubt it will be as high as 5-6 as that will just add to a large backlog unless they start releasing two per month to catch up.

I'm not interested in them but that doesn't mean they should not exist. Even for regular sets, I don't like most themes that LEGO does. There are more themes that I do not buy sets from than themes I do but sets from. However, I don't think those themes should not exist. Same with these products that other companies are making but with LEGO branding on them. I do have a tee shirt with a LEGO logo print, so why shouldn't someone else have a jacket or shoes if they want them? There are plenty of other in-house or third party products like that - watches, lunch boxes, bottles, torches, clocks, pens and pencils, folders, etc. Yet that still leaves many kids that have Lego and need to store it. Plus these boxes look great for non-Lego storage if you mosaic the tops. They are highly customizable storage boxes. Try getting your hands on a pair of the Adidas trainers. They seem to have sold very well. -
And it is great if you can find a trading partner that will take your flesh heads and hands in exchange for their yellows. I get rid of my yellows this way.

How do you organize your Lego Technic Parts?
MAB replied to Newest_Tech320's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In case you don't know, there is a specific technic sub-forum here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/115-lego-technic-and-model-team/ and there is a thread on storage here: -
They didn't mention the price. The same parts are the same parts, no matter what the theme. It doesn't matter whether the parts are originally packaged in a Star Wars box, a Creator box or an in-house story theme box.

Exactly. I see the mosaics and the SW ones are a theme I like. I used to make lots of mosaics in the past and I'd probably enjoy building them although not as much as I used to enjoy the process of designing my own. They'd take a while to build due to the nature of mosaic building, so get a tick for (some) play value. I can afford three, so I could build each, then combine them to make the big Vader one. But from my past experience with mosaics, I'm unlikely to display them for much longer than 3-4 months in my office. Mosaics don't look very good unless you are at least 6-8 feet away. So where I'd put them makes me think they are not such great value to me. Rather than spending the $400 or whatever on three, I'd prefer to get a decent poster frame and rotate repro posters in it. They are better value to me - there is no play or build value, or resale value, but the display value is much higher. Whereas if I displayed LEGO in my living area (I don't, just in my office and in my LEGO room), then having those mosaics on the wall might give them more value to me. Value is so much more than number of parts, or weight of parts, or even what the parts are. It depends totally on what the person is going to do with them.

I think the translations on the arches are phonetic spellings of ANUBIS and HORUS.

Very nice, although I think the roof needs a bit of overhang at the sides.

Or better still, stick him with Sylvester and don't do Granny at all if they think customers wouldn't be happy getting her.
-
Personally I have no interest in it, but if LEGO thinks it will sell then why not. It looks similar to any TV / movie character based submission really: - the parts pack defining the location, here a fairly run of the mill house build if nothing else was included - the minifigures, the things that actually sell the set - the stickers, which make the location a specific IP. In this one, there will be a lot of aligning a number of different stickers across multiple parts and good luck to anyone trying to attach them to 1x1 quarter circle tiles.

Comparing distinct themes like Classic Space or Ninjago to a style theme like technic (or duplo) is rather pointless in terms of longevity. Technic (and duplo) has changed dramatically over the years but keeps the name. If the parts are useful to you, then what does it matter what it says on the box? If you have a way of selling on the minifigures, you often get a decent deal on the parts too. Often much better than buying the parts from the set (minus the minifigures) on bricklink. It is a shame, I don't think the Mega Construx Alien figures have made it to the UK. I did buy one of these about four years ago from ali express though, for about $1. It needed a tiny bit of work removing the moulding mark on the head and on my one the print was much better centered than this. The nice thing is that they print the torso and legs assembled, so the print is continuous to the edges of the parts across the hips join and also matches up perfectly. So even if the print isn't perfectly centered, it still joins properly.
