  1. You mean you used your 3D-printed "Truck Rim Small" for the Lesu tires? Does the this custom rim or the LEGO small racing wheel slip due to the slightly larger tire inner diameter? Too bad LEGO didn't bother to do a new rim for this licensed vehicle truck. This looks really good:
  2. I think these Lesu 84x25x43.5 tires should also fit. The tread profile looks almost spot on to the RL Zetros ones.
  3. I received the tires I ordered today. Both cost me 20€ per set from amazon and arrived in 9 days. I think the 85x28 mm will be perfect for the Zetros. They also fit the LEGO rims better and they don't bulge out like the 90x26 do. Don't know why the inner diameter of the sponge is smaller on the larger ones. Now they only need to sit a couple of days outside because they stink like hell. Should I wash them? They are kinda sticky and feel a bit oily.
  4. Fantastic color choice and great debut for a MOC here on EB. Keep up the good work! TLG could release a big sail ship every year and make big bucks but instead we get dumb US sitcoms.
  5. Thanks, I know it. Actually your video made me want to modify the Zetros in the first place. Till now I found these INDORA 1.55" tires to be ideal for it: Much cheaper than these Mickey Thompson 1.55" Baja MTZ P3 Scale Tires.
  6. Searching for some 3rd party tires for my Zetros mod I stumbled upon this comparison for 1.9" RC ones on Aliexpress. Maybe it will help someone. I for one wished TLG did more realistic thread patterns.
  7. Nah, those are too expensive. Probably just the same old over-used street tires they always put on race cars. Must be raining a lot over in Billund if they never put slicks on them.
  8. ...which makes it even more obvious how overpriced the Ford Raptor is in the EU. The light bricks don't make sense since they are meant for short usage and the light intensity is mediocre. TLG does anything they can to avoid introducing new proper LED light elements.
  9. Don't worry about production costs. The molds in China cost 1/5th to produce there so even if they are used just for this set (e.g. CMF), it's still a no brainer.
  10. The so called "new red rubber attachments" are probably these:
  11. I have a strong feeling that it will be a Ferrari model again with 2 giant sheets of stickers included.
  12. Too bad it won't be a Claas Xerion sized tractor with the medium and large tractor tires. Missed opportunity here especially with a new license partner.
  13. The real motorcycle has 120/70 ZR17 and 200/55 ZR17 wheels, used an online tire convertor to get the diameter in mm and divided by 5.
  14. A 50€ pullback set? That's a novelty. You can forget about steering for sure. But again a Porsche... it's as if they have a life long dept with them. How about a VW or Audi at least.
  15. Are sheep dogs or sheep included in the set? :P
  16. It has to have new bigger tires since the largest motorcycle wheels from the last BMW are 100.6mm with 75mm rims and 1:5 scale would mean 130.4mm rear and 120mm front tires. That is huge!
  17. Unfortunately only a 50€ 544 piece model. So don't get your hopes high. Again too many licensed cars and no real technic. The 1:5 BMW could be interesting since it was never done before.
  18. Strange. Wonder why a prototype model (old tracks, actuators, motors, etc.) and app is shown on the back of the package instead of a newer lifestyle pic. It's the first time I see something like this on a box.
  19. This one does not need a turntable: I know it has angular motors with hubs, but this does not mean anything if the model weighs over 5kg and stalls at the slightest load. Let's see how it performs in RL.
  20. Don't like the fact the designer used red 2L axles in visible locations, lbg connectors and liftarms instead of black or yellow ones and most annoying are the dbg ends and connectors for the linear actuators. The model is too big and too slow for the few functions it has. The fake cylinder instead of 2 more actuators for the ripper is also pretty lame. Hope it is better than the Volvo 6x6 dumper in terms of torque. I still like the good old 8275 way better. And again no B-model for this behemoth. A tracked dumper or excavator would have been ideal.
  21. Caterpillar shows on Weibo more official lifestyle pics of the model. Link
  22. Great review, Jim! I really don't understand the negativity about this set and about the price point. Almost everything that was criticized about 42099 (lack of torque, wobbly steering, open diffs, ugly visible turntable) was fixed for the Zetros, only the ground clearance is worse, due to smaller tires and the diff lock taking up so much space, which is an acceptable compromise imo. Even the 6x6 configuration was ditched to make it more capable and not repeat the Volvo experience, which is still fine for hauling only. You couldn't make a set like this without PU and add a "motor pack" later to it because the whole model is designed around the motors and they support the structure. If you want a fully manual set buy the Tow truck, if you want a set without functions just to display, buy an 18+ set, but the Zetros is designed for children who want an out of the box RC experience including a cool augmented reality view of the functions. Show a little gratitude to the designers who also read these posts and be happy you have such a wide variety to choose from. There is still a cool bulldozer coming this year and next year we'll get another 1:8 super car, 3 more RC sets and many more to come.
  23. Agree that if MK is behind the tow truck, the CAT was designed by someone else in the team since it's usually 1 big model/designer/year. I suspect Olav or Luke since Uwe is more into cars nowadays. I don't think Michael T.J. since we didn't get to see anything since 2018 from him.
  24. If it's a solid piece of plastic it won't hold any air.
  25. Nowhere does it say 45°. The box advertises 60-80% which means 31-39° only.
