  1. Don't worry there is a bulge in the middle of the seat to prevent that. Besides they can hold onto the minifig compatible steering wheel.
  2. Correction, without legs and head. ;)
  3. @aeh5040 Yes, I saw that too. At least we know the large turntable is geared with a 20T gear. Also, pretty sure there is another 12T? gear under the 16T.
  4. Some new images I found, but sadly not revealing anything new or a better look at the mechanism: Not even with increased exposure adjustments: At least we have a confirmation that the rest was accurately re-constructed.
  5. Blue and black are NOT new colors for CS figures, so different topic. Besides, the blue helmet came out while Benny's Space Squad was still on shelves so the rest of the blue figure was still available.
  6. Oh boy, this toy realism discussion is getting out of hand. And no one even came up with mod ideas for this set or how to actually improve it, even though you have an almost finished digital model to experiment on.
  7. What's the point to complement a figure that is EOL since 10 years? It's the same with the purple air tank and helmet. How many can say they knew a year before this would happen and bought multiple purple Space Creatures from S22, ripped out their arms, found a fiigure with plain purple arms and hands and made a custom torso to build an all purple CS figures? Why not simply give us the whole torso or whole figure and stop this charade? It's just absurd how the most popular toy company treats it's loyal fan base. The LEGO SW fans can sing a whole anthem of the number of bad minifigures they are getting each year.
  8. But they failed to even include one new colored Classic Space suit especially after teasing with the dark bluish grey and green helmet. It's not okay regardless of what logical excuse you try to give in their defense.
  9. Kinda disappointed at this CMF Series. I was hoping for different colored Classic Space minifigures and M-tron, Blacktron I&II, Futuron, Ice Planet, Spyrius, Space Police I, II, III etc. And not random abstract figures like Orion, human suit with nanofigures etc.
  10. @effermanI was going to post a review of the Arctic Wildcat here. That steering slack is really annoying and makes the model undrivable. The rest was fun to build though.
  11. Let's just call it by the official name "Vibrant Orange" or "Reddish Orange (Bricklink?)" since Dark Orange is a completely different shade. Also the colour appears in Monkie Kid's Megapolis and different Friends sets as well. So already not exclusive to the Space theme.
  12. Better look at the new "bone gear" albeit with an SLS prototype part:
  13. Wonder why they didn't use the 18940 + 18942 gear rack elements for the extension function and use a gear instead of manually pulling/pushing some frames together and locking them with a pin. Also way too many System parts will upset many purist Technic fans, but seems to be a trend like the Creator Expert vehicles relying heavily on Technic for the chassis.
  14. They could have used chain drive on the underside and make the top yellow gears counter rotate properly. Even using rubber bands would be perfectly fine at this scale.
  15. Yes, sorry I simply misunderstood the word used to describe the new 45° knob gear. And of course a universal joint between the LA and the axle is needed for the height adjustment mechanism to work. I updated the .io file. It's strange they used a 20T spur gear with a 12T double bevel gear when there is a blue 12T spur variant in the portfolio.
  16. You're welcome! Both models look good, the red+black from @anyUser reminds me of the classic Mud Masher, but I like the orange+yellow from @XTN best, especially with the balloon tires. Makes much more sense for the tilt-steering since the Mud Masher also used such tires. The Bionicle eye as tail lights is a good idea.
  17. This one will also include the 45° knob gear! That's already 3 sets where it was necessary for the build. Wonder why this element was not "invented" much earlier.
  18. The Technic Designers in RB's video talk of a new worm gear in the Surface Space Loader. Wonder if it's just a flipped helical direction or just the worm gear from this years City Police set. Nvm
  19. Can't believe I was actually right about my build. Also new worm gear element? Wonder if it's the opposite direction helix like in the AMG One from CaDA or a new element. They are calling the knob gears "bone gears" in Billund.
  20. Yes and somewhere in China some clone brand is already shipping out the parts in brown shipping boxes.
  21. Yeah, no wonder they crack open over time.
  22. I'm done with this model. Probably not 100% accurate but I'd give it a go, if anyone wants to build and test it. 42178.io Maybe it was designed by Samuel Tacchi since it probably uses the same steering mechanism as 42139 ATV.
  23. Yes, it was a manual set, but a flagship Mack garbage truck so to speak. You could also motorize it if you wanted...
  24. You mean like this lovely Mack LR? Remember when B-models in licensed sets used to be a thing? Kudos to @grohl for designing both the semi-truck and the alternate model at the time. Maybe he had something to do with 42167 too?
  25. No, it does matter because it is used to scissor the front axle arms and the hood at the same angle while the cabin stays horizontal thanks to the parallel beam linkage. There is also a small linear actuator that transfers the rotation of the red axle connector in the back through 2 gear pairs all the way to front axle arm so that the rover stays locked at variable height. This function alone makes it probably the most interesting of the 1H2024 sets.
