Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11
I Scream Clone replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I would like to check out the saw and see if it still functions. Then maybe we can do a magic trick with Eleanor and the Saw! Spicy! -
Since Lego goes to the trouble of producing rarer colours for sets, they could simply increase production to supply PAB walls as well. If you are making twice as many parts in one production run the costs work out less and we can get rarer colours in useful quantites like; Dark blue, Tan, Dark Tan, Sand green, Sand red etc. I would like to see more roofing slopes in colours like dark blue, grey and dark grey etc. 30% bricks 20% plates 15% plants etc 15% minifig 20% others

A very nice creation. The rocks and tower are great. The plant life adds a mystical run-down look to the landscape. The rope bridge is nice, but I feel the ladder is a little bit too ramshackle, perhaps some of the pieces should still line up to show that it was a organized ladder previously (just a minor thing) The figures are nicely done too. As for photographing Lego have a look here at Hinckley's photo set up. If you don't have that kind of cash to outlay I would still recommend building the white cardboard/foam corner set up for taking photo's as this will eliminate background distractions. If you are having trouble with movement they have cheap bendy tripods available. As for close up shots, if you have your camera on maximum resolution and pull the camera a bit further away, you can then crop the image down and still have a large enough and clear enough photo. The problem with going too close is that you move inside the shortest focus distance available for a camera. Hope this helps. Great MOC Cheers

Some nicely crafted buildings, very inspirational to someone like me who hasn't tried this theme as much, Cheers!

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!

I think the replacement parts come from Australia sometimes if they have the stock available, not to mention they are mailed out letter size which is always quicker than parcel post. -
Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11

Ok N/NE it is looking at the northern most branch line first. Say what time is it? Beer o'clock yet? I could sure go for a brew and a game of 'speaksees the truth townies' they seem to have clammed up lately, no doubt plotting something like stealing dice or schmelts nuts! -

Maybe we could Electric boogaloo the switch to work. I saw that once in an in flight movie, Ali G I think, surely that would work. These guys seem to have all five points lined up Ok Bulldog is faithfully following the mob along the track. Hmmm M+Ms yum -
Nice use of barrels and palm tree trunks

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11

I would like to feel the wall along one side of the tunnel whilst someone does the other side. I want to look for any doorways, possibly concealed along the tunnel. Just the place for a super cool secret lair or batcave. I could go for some nuts Pete, don't hold out now! -
Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 10
I Scream Clone replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well first you need a picture, then lots of people to discuss the picture, then they all start believing the picture is real and then 'poof' out pop boxes of elves everywhere Are we still close to train track or just 'bush bashing'? -
This is a fantastic Castle creation, I love all the detailing on the walls, though feel the bottom windows (with the trans red in them) are a little too wide and open, when one is looking to fortify a wall against attack. The keep is great and you have done a great job on the landscaping as well. Cheers ISC

Well done on taking on a massive project like this and coming out with a really nice creation! I like the colour scheme for the village buildings and actually don't think the MMV sets match up with the rest very well, though they definitely add to the bustling cramped look of the inside of the castle walls. The walls themselves look great too. Perhaps if I may suggest some more landscaping on the green plates to lift the whole area somewhat would make it all the more realistic. Well done once again, and great to see the Town Hall creation used from previous topic of yours, it was a great build.

My first MOC ever, a castle creation
I Scream Clone replied to marnicq's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
For a first MOC this is really nice and creative. Whilst I am not really a fan of red highlights on a grey castle, this works quite well. The Imperial guards look like monks of a secretive order floating on a misty lake hidden from normal folk. Well done on a creative tower too, the curving part is still not quite doing it for me, but the detailing on the rest of the tower looks great. Nice work on the alligator too. -

N E one else coming too? -
Fantastic work so far, taking on Cloud city is a massive task. I had thought of having a crack myself one day. What are you using for reference? Movie? Lego Star Wars game? Cross sectional books? I would be very curious to see. Cheers

Welcome aboard oh Keeper of the Walrus! We are honoured to have you keeping Siegfried bathed and clothed and away from the Kahlua I admit my wife has been tempted occasionally to join herself, but so far resisted the urge, prefering to sit back and watch the "nerds frolic" so to speak. It's our only Ace up the sleeve! We have more than one mum floating around, don't forget Lalande is Thrash's mum! Nice new title BTW Svelte

Oh, but there are toooo many pieces I don't have honey!......oh and now I have to wreck my other things to make it..... Did you put on the pouty face too when the bottom lip sticks out? At the end of the day it works, and you are the master manipulator of massive Lego purchases! -

Cool another wife I don't know about! Lets just say I wanted to stop the train, if I was able to understand how exactly, and that I was successful. Then we wouldn't have met this nice/deranged locals and discovered the whole Murder etc in the town. Perhaps we are Miss Thornton's Town liberators! I'm off to the Danger tracks again with Herman now that he has had his hissy fit with Hellanor, we should be able to get some sense out of him! -
Bonaparte, it would be awesome to see you there! I am saving my cash as we speak, and working on a collaboration with Stash2Sixx for the event in 2010. Whats this rumour of aquatic themes?

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 10
I Scream Clone replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ok people, whats the best way to move this tanker then? We need action dammit! HAY! Im watching you Jim, I don't like all your insinuations about me and my friends being the ones who are sabotaging things left, right and center. Just because there is hay lying around doesn't mean much too me, we are rural after all -
Increase in Lego.com Prices?!
I Scream Clone replied to Joey Lock's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
We are all slaves to TLC's pricing whims. You guys don't need to start a new topic every time one set changes price. If you want to see how bad it is, just look through the pricing for Australian and New Zealand fans at the moment. the inconsistent pricing is terrible. $99 US sets like MMV, Brickbeard's Bounty, Endor, and Temple of Doom which we would normally expect to be $150 Aus are 150, 140, 200, and 130 respectively. Our Impulse sets were $6 for a long time, but have dropped back to $5 as they probably weren't selling that well, however I expect them to jump again soon. this is still more than you guys pay on conversion. Short answer is they have us over a barrel. We all know Lego is fun, but is also an expensive hobby. If you want to play the grammar game, get your spelling right. Gives you a better leg to stand on Joey -

Its true i did ask to have a look up at the engine to see what the Crew get up to as well as have a look at an impressive vehicle, but I wouldn't know the first thing about stopping a Loco. I cant even find a Johnson rod!
