Thanks to svelte_corps recommendation, I managed to snap up two 4954 Creator houses that were discontinued mid 08. Beautiful parts packs at a bargain price of $89 from Big W. DJ's have 3 left in the whole country so I wasn't able to get the second 50% off. (1 in central sydney and 2 in QLD) -
This is to be included in a MOC I am building at the moment, though probably only from the waist up. Any suggestions are appreciated on improvements. Cheers ISC

Happy belated birthday to you all! -
Kudos on the great design of the tower. Lots of nice side on brick techniques and SNOT are evident. I was a shame the one exposed side of the water was the focal point/best side to photograph, but otherwise this is a great creation and I will definitely study and possible replicate some of the moves you have pulled. Cheers PS feel free to submit something for the CCB comp at the top of the H & A page too, we would love to see what you can create for that.

Awesome collaborative effort from the Eurobricks staff. Truly a one in million prize that should inspire our community! Thanks

Most likely ordered from S@H or Lego distributor, hence the higher than retail prices, plus they have to make money too If you wish to pay retail price or lower for Pirates sets, you will have to be patient grasshopper! Big W often gets sets quicker than others, but that can vary based on theme per shop. Basically what I have noticed is Lego Aus staggers the release of all the lines over the whole year, so your only really guaranteed time to pick all themes up is X-mas. We had to wait about 8 months for Castle sets last year (all the Orc ones) came out in August. -
You lucky people living close enough to go this year. I vow to make a larger effort to make the trek from Australia for 2010, better start saving. Swag On!

I believe a photo of this huge collection is warranted! Such claims are outlandish other wise good sir!

Great work on the Great machine. lots of nice little details that reward looking at it again and again. Cheers Good, that means you can submit an entry in the CCB then

At this rate everyone gets a prize We still have a few busy dedicated members, so Im not worried about the future of the CCB. I am in the process of building something else, and besides I cant enter anyway. Its ok I know the guy running the comp so I may be able to get a prize anyway. The Job Mullers contest is distracting a few people as well..... -

Big W has lower everyday prices. No idea about sales this week. Try Kmart and Target as they often have sales and are cheaper than Myer and DJs -
Wow svelte I thought things were bad IRL!, Clearly Lego towns aren't faring much better. I love the whole story, the photos are fantastic too. Buying some lights and posterboard has paid off nicely.

To answer your first question, I tend to use a lot of other coloured bricks and burps underneath my mountains. Then build up on the outside with lots of 1 x 2 slopes of different sizes. Its all freestyle for me, with only a general idea of where I will end up. Warning it takes a LOT of bricks to build even the smallest of hills. I also favor cheese slopes to smooth the whole look off when finished too.

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
I Scream Clone replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Now I know Zombies aren't really kid friendly, but perhaps a set or two each year as an exclusive S@H product would sell well. Say zombies attacking a gas station etc. TLC may not go for something like this as they are probably looking to market a theme world wide. So in this case, I think the time travelling idea has appeal to new kids and AFOLs if there was to be classic characters involved.
