REVIEW: 71005 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Simpsons Series
The Cobra replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks once again, White Fang for a great review. And, whohoo! The 3-4-5 distribution is back (to stay? I strongly hope so). I'll be getting the whole series, as I did with the regular eleven & the movie series.- 118 replies

The house looks great. So do the adult minifigs. Maggie is ok. Bart and Lisa aren't.
-
They come for free, so what's wrong with them? And, they can be bought if your country has a Lego shop (either phisical or online): see here. How many do I have? 1 + some lying in still-to-be-opened sets (I guess three)

Did someone already mention an Advent Calendar?

While browsing eBay, I found this new polybag. Not bad, but not as nice as most every other Friends polybag.
-
I placed an order too, and the free polybag showed up as soon as I put any Friends set in my bag, even the cheaper ones.

I'm not saying it's a bad set, but I don't like it that much. Thanks for the review, and congratulations for your opening pic, way better than the official one.

According to CTRL+F, that makes two of us. If I understood the whole thing (and I'm not sure I did): - You, me and some other users were among those who could have won in each of these days - Those "bonus picks", due to a series of unlucky circumnstances, weren't counted as eligible for prizes. Thus, the bonus.

REVIEW: 71004 LEGO Minifigures β The LEGO Movie Series
The Cobra replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks once again to WhiteFang for another great review. I stil think this is the worst series so far (though the movie itself looks terrific), and I learned the European price will be 2.99, making it even worse. I admit I will buy a complete series, as I did with all the other ones, but I hope something better is coming throughout 2014.- 131 replies

I'm not into Christmas songs, but I'm into Hard rock Christmas covers!

Here's a larger pic.

Ever since I saw this set I knew I was going to own one, and in a few months I will. You did a great job in showing how awesome it is. Many thanks!

I have nothing against the movie (so far, so awesome); as for the figs (hoping I'm getting the correct name-figure pairing): Calamity Drone: not totally bad, but a human western girl would have been better (though we already have a cowgirl in S8) Gail the Construction Worker: worst CM ever? Abraham Lincoln: OK, he's a must-have Larry the Barista: nice Panda Guy: great to have a panda toy, but we already had a panda guy <- oops, we never did; that was a bunny and bunnies do not look like pandas; epic memory fail. So, great to have a panda guy too Velma Staplebot: worst than cowgirlbot William Shakespeare: See Abe Lincoln Taco Tuesday Guy: not bad, but too similar to S2 Mariachi βWhere are my Pants?β Guy: oh, so bad. This is why I don't like the series based on the movie Wiley Fusebot: hey, look! Another lame robot President Business: See "where are my pants" guy Wild West Wyldstyle: we're back to nice Hard Hat Emmet: as funny in the trailers, as boring in a CM. Scribbe-Face Bad Cop: We need more cops (said no one ever) Mrs. Scratchen-Post: grandma on acid? Now people can make brick flicks to an Hawkwind song Marsha Queen of the Mermaids: we had a mermaid in S9, and she looked way better than this one.

The robber hideout is small but fine, too bad the helicopter looks as awful as 4439.

Yep, that's where I took it from (I gave credit to Brickset but forgot to mention you, sorry). As for the sets, I really like the tow truck (very iconic); the logging truck might be interesting, but it looks very similar to the 2012 Mine truck. The black jeep looks a bit too plain, so does the camper. Hopefully, we'll soon see bigger pics.

Via Brickset: the last page of the renewed 60020 booklet shows some 2014 sets (on the top right corner, everyone's fav topic: the airport firetruck)

Looks like I'm finally gonna own a modular set. (not that the old ones looked bad, but this is outstanding)

I took a quick glimpse at the retailers catalogue (which I won't be seeing again for at least one month); I totally missed the news van (ehm... twice? I fear it wasn't there, and that means some kind of exclusive), but I'm happpy about most of the sets. The Juice bar looks very bright (yellow, orange, lime), the beach house is yellow too. At first glimpse, I mistook the bear for a cat; the orangutan looks like the monkey from CMs, but a lighter shade of brown. I saw the farm, but wasn't interested in it, so I don't remember what it looked like; the Penguin looks... like a Penguin, the macaw seemed to have no printed details (but these are preliminary pics) Most important: one set (the lemonade stand, if I remember correctly) comes with something like this:

Castle is a 2nd_half_of_the_year theme; let's try not to worry but just hope for another wave.
-
That's the main problem. If Friends and Star Wars calendars are selling big digits, and considering City as "granted", chances for a Castle AC are low.
