  1. Belle was reported by a leaker on this forum, the same one who confirmed Gaston before the Disney Villains set was revealed. The lack of Brave and Raya representation in this new castle makes me think Disney has no interest in making Merida or Raya minifigures. Otherwise they'd have put something to represent them in the castle.
  2. That's true. I just find it strange that they skipped it altogether especially since KOTCS did get several sets when it was released. Did Lego just sense that there was little hype for this movie as compared to the last one or did the KOTCS sets not sell well enough for them to bother with another untried new installment? It reminds me of how the Fantastic Beasts movies did get sets for the first two films but by the third movie, there was zero hype or interest with general audiences and it wasn't surprising that there were 0 sets. Perhaps Lego predicted something similar for Indiana Jones.
  3. I wonder if Lego deliberately avoided making sets for this movie because they predicted it would be a commercial and critical flop. Reviewers from Cannes were saying that the scene you mention in particular would be very polarizing for fans.
  4. Alana, Ariel's youngest sister had a minidoll as well. The fact that Eric and human Ariel are included in the Little Mermaid VHS tape gives me hope there is a set that will feature the two of them, perhaps in a diorama like the Peter Pan set. The Kiss the Girl lagoon scene was a very popular submission in the Lego Ideas contest so maybe one of those will be voted into an official set.
  5. That's true. Although the Beast's head is very cartoony for my taste in minidoll form, especially how large the eyes are so I don't think he'd look really good next to minifigures. Belle's minidoll hair also isn't as accurate as I would like and I was hoping she'd get a new hairpiece like Ariel, Aurora, and Cinderella did. Jasmine and Snow White's minidoll hair was just perfect which is probably why they were carried over.
  6. The fact that Rafiki, Timon, and Pumbaa are included as well sounds almost too good to be true. No mention of Zazu though. I wouldn't put it past them lol.
  7. The Beauty and the Beast set is interesting because the description suggests that this will feature minidolls, not minifigures. As for The Lion King, I'm wondering who the two male lions will be. It must be two from Mufasa, grownup Simba, and Scar. If we're starting to get Disney animal characters, I hope we can one day see sets/figures for Bambi, Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
  8. The Wendy minfigure is missing her hair bow. The only version of the hair bow that exists in the matching shade of blue is in the minidoll set.
  9. From June 13-July 4, the submissions are all under expert review. From July 4-11 is when the crowd vote occurs for five chosen submissions before the final winner is announced September 1st. His BATB one will likely be one of the five entries. There are several other BATB ballroom submissions as well but I think his was the most unique since it incorporated the actual dancing. There are lots of Little Mermaid lagoon and Alice tea party submissions though, which is another reason why his BATB submission is the most likely to make it out of his four entries.
  10. No, the contest just ended last week. We won't know who won until September 1st.
  11. Those were all his submissions to the Lego Ideas Disney challenge.
  12. Looking at the high-res images, I take back what I said about Rapunzel's dress being more movie accurate. The gold accents and sparkles are all over her and look incongruous with her overall design. Along with the long skirt and short braid, she barely resembles Disney's Rapunzel. Henry's look is a little too serious for me especially with those super prominent cheekbones. The Cedric Diggory face for Florian doesn't work for me either and makes him look way too old ironically enough. I'm very curious if they kept the archery range from the old castle and if so, if it's still modeled after Brave or perhaps fitted to Robin Hood now. The Mulan or Raya section in the castle still perplexes me. The sword seems to be Mulan's because Raya has a curvy sword. However, the map of the dragon comes straight from Raya except in the movie, the dragon is blue-green. The map here has a red dragon which makes me wonder if it's supposed to be Mulan-themed to reflect Mushu or if they just colored the Raya dragon incorrectly. Overall the castle seems to be themed after: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Cinderella Sleeping Beauty The Sword in the Stone The Little Mermaid Beauty and the Beast Aladdin Pocahontas Tangled Moana and either Mulan or Raya and the Last Dragon The chamber on the bottom floor's right with the mop also seems like a waste if space if the only thing they could think to put in is a mop. Is it meant to be Fantasia themed or is it as simple as a mop for Cinderella to use? They created The Sword in the Stone on the other end so it seems like they could have come up with something more exciting here.
  13. I wish they would share the same hair color instead. The light nougat is a lot more accurate for Cinderella's golden brown/dark blonde hair.
  14. When is the Agrabah microscale set supposed to be released? I think the boat scene is most likely because it's depicted in the VHS tape in the villains set. It would give us human Ariel and an Eric minifigure. The VHS also had Ariel in her pink dress so it would be nice if we got that one day as well. I just hope they fix Ariel's torso so that it isn't black like in the VHS but navy blue like it is in the movie.
  15. Good catch, but wouldn't there be pin holes on the left side of the black base as well then?
  16. Mulan's dress is longer than Rapunzel's and more or less the same length as Snow White's, but I always felt it was a mistake to give her legs. I think they did that because they felt people would want to pose her in action poses but in that case, they would have been better off using one of her army outfits. Besides giving her legs instead of a skirt, Mulan's skin tone is too light and her hair way too long. Another reason her minifigure should have come in a different outfit since they're reusing her minidoll hair which is long but in her blue dress, she already had her haircut.
  17. Yes, the dress length is an issue several others pointed out as well and I'm not the biggest fan either. The Anna minifigure from the CMF series 2 had the same issue. Would have been better to give her a short fabric skirt over bare legs. And you're right about the gold as well. I didn't notice that until you mentioned it but her movie dress definitely doesn't have gold patterning. Aurora's minifigure has the same issue. They gave her gold accents on her dress even though her dress never had any gold. A trend I've noticed with all the princess minifigures this year is that Lego has been throwing unnecessary gold accents and sparkles, on top of generally inaccurate to the movie colors. In that sense, Rapunzel comes across the best since the rest of her dress has accurate colors. I'm particularly impressed that they kept the stripes on her sleeves and the banding underneath. The hair is a huge flaw though. I really rather they had skipped the braid and just gone for a long hairpiece, something that actually touches the ground and isn't only as long as her torso. Rapunzel's long hair is her defining feature so it astounds me that all her minidolls and now her minifigure keep giving her medium-length hair. Aladdin wears pants and Pocahontas wears what's essentially a miniskirt/dress that's short enough that her legs have maneuverability. Rapunzel's skirt is long enough that legs wouldn't really work because it would be like splitting her dress in the middle. That's an issue all the princesses in their peasant dresses (Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, etc.) will also face since their skirts are short enough to show some of their legs but using legs for them wouldn't be correct either.
  18. You're right! Honestly the one flower look is just sorta cheap especially since her real braid has so many. The rest of her is so well done though that even though I'm not a fan of Tangled and was only planning on BLing Snow White, Florian, Cinderella, and Henry, I may just pick up Rapunzel and Flynn as well. The Tangled minifigs look the best overall. Getting a closer look at Florian, I'm not a fan of his face. He looks a little smarmy for my taste and not princely enough. His hair should be a darker brown (like Flynn's hair) and his torso, like Snow White's, would have been more accurate had it been a darker blue. His belt shouldn't be brown either. I'll probably give him a dagger as an accessory since it's not printed on his belt.
  19. The Peter Pan set is lovely. So glad Wendy finally gets a minifigure and can join Alice and Dorothy. I do hope one day we can still get her brothers and Nana. Rapunzel's dress colors are actually accurate. To the movie that is, not how she looks in merchandise. In fact I'm a little jealous that they did such an accurate job on her unlike Snow White with those overly bright colors and random assortment of glitter. The only drawback with Rapunzel is her hair length and I'm not sure why they gave her a bow since she's never worn one.
  20. I feel like this year they got lazy. Mulan's minifigure also reuses her minidoll hair. The hair suits her except for the fact that the dress they used for her minifigure is one she only wears when she has short hair. The minidoll of her blue dress also used that same long hairpiece but the minidolls are never very accurate and cater to little girls so I'm not surprised they felt long hair would sell better. The minifigure at least should have been more accurate with a short haircut. Good point about the long hair. Even if they wanted to stick with Rapunzel's braid from the movie, that could have been feasible since it's long but still doesn't touch the ground. However, her movie braid is a much thicker braid than the generic piece they're using, plus it's covered with flowers. I can see Rapunzel fans being disappointed. The shade of purple for her dress is also inaccurate to the movie as it's too dark.
  21. Thank you for confirming. That's a pity. I can understand now why the original leaker who saw this set in person said he didn't recognize any of the couples outside of Cinderella and her prince. Rapunzel in particular would probably look like a generic princess.
  22. Has Lego ever done a hairpiece where the hair is as long as the minifigure's height? Or close enough to touch the bottom of the legs? I feel like that will also hurt sales, particularly from general consumers who think of Disney and the Disney Parks and automatically associate it with Mickey, Minnie, etc. The original castle was purchased by people who don't normally even buy Lego (I remember David Beckham shared the set on his social media during the pandemic) because it was such an icon, both for the castle design and the minifigures. There were only five but all five of them are Disney icons.
  23. It's hard to tell from the blurry pics but is Rapunzel's braid the same mid-length braid she has as a minidoll? I never understood why they used that piece since Rapunzel is known for her long hair and I always figured a proper minifigure would give her a long hairpiece or long braid but that doesn't seem to be the case.
  24. I certainly would get a princess set the way you described it! But I also think that Lego might want to balance out a counterpart set by gender the way the villains set has two female villains and two male villains. Perhaps Aladdin as Prince Ali, Prince Phillip, or Dopey or one of the other dwarfs would be used instead to include some male characters. If they aren't sticking to the same movies from the villains set, they could even go with Prince Eric or Quasimodo. For your idea, other options could also be Belle in her gold ballgown (especially if this is the only minifigure we'll be getting of her), Aurora in blue, and Jasmine in purple. I know Disney doesn't like to make Slave Leia merchandise which makes me wonder if they're comfortable making Slave Jasmine merchandise because it's been several years since they have.
  25. It's pretty but the original still looked better and this one isn't worth the price if you have the original. Also kind in mind that a user previously leaked that Belle and Gaston would get minifigures. We had Gaston confirmed after so that means we will still get Belle in another set. Beast was never mentioned which in hindsight should have been an indicator that they wouldn't be included as a couple in this set. I'm wondering if this means that there will be a heroes counterpart to the villain set after all. Just like Gaston was the only new character in that set, perhaps a heroes set will feature new versions of existing characters plus Belle.
